Re: MLB The Show 21: Stadium Creator and Next-Gen Details
The stream was very disappointing but I never had a problem with the graphics anyway. If the game looks exactly the same with 4K/60 and faster loading times with improved gameplay I’m happy.Comment

Yep, this is what I did. I still have my Xbox One X with game pass, so I just cancelled the PS5 version since yesterday’s stream did not justify me spending money on the next gen version.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21: Stadium Creator and Next-Gen Details
Something to consider when talking about next gen improvements is whether a game is coming out for "last" gen too. If it is, developers are basically creating one game with a ceiling that's much lower graphically because of that.
Next gen is gonna give us significant resolution and framerate bumps, quicker loading times, and stadium creator.
That's a lot.
When SDS is developing just for next gen, then I'll have my pitchfork ready if global improvements aren't made.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21: Stadium Creator and Next-Gen Details
Sure would of been nice to know if any of what you mentioned here is a next gen feature.. We know the PS4 version will run 4k/60 on a ps5, but what about the ps5 version? If only they did a stream dedicated to the details of next gen...Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21: Stadium Creator and Next-Gen Details
New Intro Presentations
Smooth 60 FPS Gameplay
More Detailed Stadiums and Environments
Immersive 3D Audio (PS5-specific)
Game-Changing Haptic Feedback (PS5-specific)
How about a glimpse of these "new intros," "detailed stadiums/environments," and describe how the 3D audio is immersive for the game?
I just don't get how these are next gen features, but they don't discuss them in this stream. It makes no sense. I get wanting people to be excited when you load the game but, but zero discussion on these?
They clearly have a new scorebug as well....how about discussing the new presentation elements in the game?Comment

Agree with you. Yesterday’s stream was very confusing to say the least.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21: Stadium Creator and Next-Gen Details
I just wish they developed it separately. When you compare MLB 2K7 on Xbox 360 vs. Xbox, it's a "different game." Different cameras, visually recreated, new animations, revamped baserunning interface, the works. I think even different menus, but I'm not sure. Same commentary, but that was about where the differences stayed.

I think SCEA has expanded to a point where they're out of their comfort zone the last few years. They've had undeniable success with DD that has brought more players in than ever before and it seems that they've struggled with having a consistent vision since then.
I'm not one that hates DD or thinks the mode is ruining the game. I played it as much as franchise last year. I only think that before DD and the game was less popular that SCEA had a clearer vision towards building a very authentic experience on the field. Since the rise of DD it seems the company doesn't have a set vision they continue to work towards. Instead, it feels that each year they are randomly selecting what to work on and not building onto things year after year like in the past.
Fortunately the on field gameplay is amazing, so it isn't as big of a deal, but I can't help but look at SCEA over the last 3 or so years and think they look a little lost from a directive standpoint.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Feature Premiere Starting Now - Next-Gen & Stadium Creator
I'd much rather people say "I don't care about this feature" and leave it at that.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment
