I have completed the 2025 season and the conclusion to our season hurt so much considering how successful we were. We finished the season with 104 wins and dominated the NL Central winning by 20+ games. We had the best record in the National League. But our season would end at the hands of the defending World Series Champion Padres who beat the Phillies in the Wild Card round. The Padres won 98 games this year and limped into the playoffs with injuries. But wouldn't you know, those guys would get healthy during our 5 game dramatic NLDS series. We lost in 5 games after blowing leads in Game 2 and Game 5 late in the game.

The Padres would go on to repeat as World Series Champions defeating the Mariners in 5 games. I have played 4 full seasons and the White Sox went back to back in '22 and '23 and now the Padres have gone back to back in '24 and '25.

The upcoming offseason will see a lot of major decisions being made by us. Nolan Arenado has a $32.5M team option and has struggled with injuries and performance recently. Our bullpen depth needs to be addressed as does starting pitching. We have Tyler O'Neill becoming a free agent and the likes of Joshua Baez pushing for playing time on the big league roster. So much to figure out during the winter as we look to get to October in 2026 and passed the damn NLDS.

Here's the video for the 2025 season wrap-up for anyone who's interested

I'm going to try to stay more engaged in the write ups of my franchise as I enjoy it and at this point of life, with all that's happening, I need it.

Deepest condolences CB. That is a tough one.

ML WILD CARD: FORT WORTH (89-73) @ ROSWELL (90-73)
Stadium: Greater New Mexico Field (Capacity: 5,595)

        October 5: Aliens 3, Kings 2

Roswell, NM (AP) - The Roswell Aliens won the 2022 ML Wild Card game in walk-off fashion on a Joe Gallagher RBI double to eliminate the Fort Worth Kings 3-2. The win will send the Aliens to the MLDS where they will face San Antonio.

The Aliens took the lead in the first inning on a solo home run from Damien Hudson.

The Kings would tie it up in the fifth with an RBI single from Mikey Fisher. They would then take the lead in the sixth on a solo home run from Randy Klaus. Klaus was the ML MVP with 45 regular season home runs.

The Aliens would tie it up in the bottom half on a Willie Reece RBI single. That set the game up for the dramatic finish. Fort Worth had on reliever Noah Smallwood and he allowed a leadoff single to Watson. Gallagher then ripped one into the left centerfield gap and Watson raced around the bases to score set off a wild celebration.

Fort Worth ends their season with the disappointing loss after leading the Mountain League most of the season, but fading late and ending the season four games back of San Antonio.

The Aliens will now go on to face the San Antonio Javelinas in the MLDS beginning on Friday night in San Antonio with Santa Fe facing Colorado Springs in the other series.

Cardinals sign Nicky Lopez to one year deal with player option

The Cardinals have signed SS/2B Nicky Lopez to a one year $6.8M deal with a player option for a 2nd year. The 31 year old Lopez has spent his entire career with the Royals and last year hit .286 with 6 homeruns and 45 RBIs. He had an OBP over .380 and stole 17 bases. This limited to just 101 games due to injury.

Lopez provides a left handed bat to the lineup and a top of the lineup hitter. With Lopez now being signed, along with Gio Urshela and Nolan Arenado, the Cardinals now have decisions to make in regards to Tommy Edman, Edmundo Sosa, and maybe Nolan Gorman. Do they move Sosa, do they just not attempt to bring Edman back, is Gorman now a lock at first base or will Urshela unseat him?

Lot to be decided for this club in the months leading up to Spring Training on just how they want the roster to look when they head to Florida.

I am using a fantasy roster called Zann's Fictional Roster.

Not sure who that is, but he simulated the game through the 2050 season so there were no longer any current players in the game.

I then took that roster and did a fantasy draft with my 30 fictional teams. I am controlling the Flagstaff Hops but I also have 30-team control.

What's your guys longest win streak?
I play every game as the Padres (25-10 1st place). We were swept by the 1st place Brewers (basically all ridiculous blowouts) and then out of nowhere went on a 14-0 streak... I did not see it/ expect it. in fact i thought we'd be screwed as we had a series against the Dodgers in LA immediately after playing terrible at home, but somehow dominated and just went on a crazy run. It sucks because we lost @SF to 4th place team (12-22). I was actually pretty weirdly devastated after the loss, but I had a feeling with our 5th starter on the mound that it would be the end of the rotation to blow it..still never had this much fun playing the Show before . It was also kind of a relief as I became way to focused on trying to win 23 straight to set a record, its one of the first times i almost threw my controller, reminded me of being a kid again and raging lol
Pads are the best team to play as, especially if you play every gm. Theyre a homerun derby. Soto and Tatisroid are battling for NL MVP- Soto has 21 HR, Tatis 20

My league has had crazy trades this season:
Astros traded Kyle Tucker to the Os near the start of the season.. Os are battling for 1st place
Mariners traded for Salvador Perez (C, B pot) , gave the Royals prospects Torrens (C, B pot), Toro (3B, B), and Mejia (2B, B pot)
Brewers traded Hirua (2B, Apot) and File (SP, B pot) to Red Sox for Sale (SP, A pot) and Sanchez (2B, B)

Those of you trying to strengthen your team, Dylan Cease has been stellar for me through spring training and two starts in regular season.
I’m using one of the newer SDS rosters and his contract expires after this year. I have already extended him for 3 more years.

He’s a SP with the White Sox.

DL WILD CARD: PHOENIX (86-76) @ LONG BEACH (89-73)
                      Stadium: Harbor Park (Capacity: 11,685)

                      October 6: Firebirds 5, Surf Dawgs 4

Long Beach, CA (AP) - The Phoenix Firebirds used some late inning drama to pull out a 504 victory over the Long Beach Surf Dawgs to win the Desert League Wild Card game. Michael Yancey’s solo home run in the top of the ninth was the difference and will send Phoenix into the divisional round where they will take on Las Vegas.

The Firebirds grabbed the lead in the second inning on a Bobby Gates solo home run.

The Surf Dawgs immediately responded with two of their own in the bottom half to grab the lead. Chase Ponder tripled in a run and scored on a sacrifice fly.

Bobby Gates would hit his second home run of the game in the fourth. That solo shot tied the game at 2-2. Carl Lentzkow would triple home Jeff Jankowitsch and he would score on a McCarthy RBI single as the Firebirds went up 4-2.

But the Surf Dawgs would fight back with single runs in the fifth and sixth to tie the game at 4-4. A Kyle Carroll RBI double in the fifth cut the lead to one and a Chase Ponder RBI double in the sixth tied the game at 4-4.

That would set the stage for the late inning heroics from Michael Yancey. He would hit a hanging slider deep into the left centerfield night as the Firebirds took the lead. They would turn the game over to Rickey Gilbert and he would send the Surf Dawgs down 1-2-3 to earn the save and send the Firebirds into the divisional round.

Long Beach ends their season with their ace and DL Cy Young award winner Steve Willis unable to get the job done. Willis lasted just four plus innings, allowing four run son six hits. He struck out three and walked two.

Phoenix will open their DLDS series in Las Vegas on Saturday evening with Gilbert opening up at Surprise also on Saturday. The MLDS series will both open on Friday evening with Santa Fe hosting Colorado Springs and San Antonio hosting Roswell.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

It's over, The Blue Jays run has finished after a 3-Peat, the Tigers defeat the Jays in the 2025 ALDS 3-1.

What a season it was for the Jays, 109 wins their best ever. Highlights included Giancarlo Stanton getting another MVP, pitcher Danny Bryant winning ROY. Luis Castillo and Mookie enjoyed resurgent seasons winning Cy Young and Hank Aaron award respectively.

At the trade deadline, expiring contracts of Luis Severino were traded for Benny Montegomery, Alex Kirillof, Sixto Sanchez. Luis Urias was traded for Jordan Walker. Xander Bogaerts who had 1 more year left but was seeing limited playing time was traded for a 1B prospect.

As the season was coming near an end big injuries hit the Jays:
                        - Mookie Betts was out for 2-3 months, 60 day IL
                        - Julio Rodriguez was out for 2-3 months, 60 day IL
                        - Lourdes Gurriel was out for 1-2 months, 60 day IL

In the playoffs, the guys that were the most reliable in the 3-peat ended up being the weakness of the squad in Giancarlo Stanton and Tim Anderson hitting poorly. Ke'Bryan Hayes who was kept in favor of Luis Urias struggled mightly too. Catcher Tyler Stephenson struggled to get hits also.

As the Jays go into the offseason, they have much to be excited about as Bo Cohen will be put up into the majors in the pitching rotation which means either Sixto Sanchez, Shane Baez, or Spencer Turnbull will most likely get moved. It was clear the Jays need another reliable back up 3B and a bit more power to help. Also looking for a reliable backup catcher will be another priority in the offseason.

After just his first season as manager, Joe Maddon has decided to retire, the Jays will need to find a replacement.

Will we see any surprising moves, possibly Stanton? Let's see.

                            2023 Arizona Diamondbacks 06/16-06/22

Overall Record:51-24 (1st NL West 6.0 over LA Dodgers

D-Backs take over best record in MLB after series wins vs. Dodgers and Braves

There were no sweeps in the D-Backs series Vs. the LA Dodgers and Atlanta Braves however, Arizona did win both series two games to one. Arizona won the first two games Vs. LA and looked to be poised for their second straight sweep of their divisional rivals but LA was able to avoid that with a game three victory 8-3.

Arizona went on a short two game losing streak after losing the first game of their series in Atlanta. In that game, the ball flew out of the ball park for both teams as they combined for nine home runs in Atlanta's 12-9 victory. Three of those homers came off the bat of Atlanta's lead off hitter, Jonathan Villar.

Arizona responded postively to that loss however as they won games two and three by the scores of 7-5 and 11-4. During the series, Carson Kelly increased his NL home run lead as he homered in four straight games. A streak that was stopped in game three against Atlanta. Kelly now has 25 which is three more than Freddie Freeman's 22. Jared Walsh still has the MLB lead with 26.

Arizona will now look to continue their hot June with three games against the always struggling Kansas City Royals (26-50).

The Nationals shocked the Braves, taking two of three in Atlanta. They still couldn't pull off the sweep, even after taking an early 2-0 lead in the first in the finale. The highlight of the series was the rally pulled off in the bottom of the ninth in Game 2. With two down and the Nats trailing 3-1, Anderson Tejeda drove a line drive home run to left to tie the game, eventually forcing extras. The Nats would score three more in the tenth to shock the sellout home crowd. Stephen Strasburg also outdueled Spencer Strider in that matchup, as Strider left in the sixth due to a high pitch count, while Strasburg was able to go 7 full innings.

There is much to like in this young group, but they still have issues maintaining the lead when they score early. They seem to be able to jump out to early leads, but holding on has been an issue lately. I'm thinking of looking for some new bullpen arms, but I also don't want to ruin what the team has been building thus far.

The Nationals will return home for two against Seattle and three against Atlanta before the All-Star Break.

My Braves did get swept by the Nationals in Atlanta.

We're hitting .208 as a team. Albies and Freeman have been especially bad. It's still very early, but we're in fourth in the East at 4-5. We've got the Marlins coming in for four games, so hopefully we can get on track.
