Re: MLB The Show 22 Trade Discussion Thread
It's still early in the season, but what would it take to get the following players to the Red Sox? These guys are all on losing teams.
Andrew Benintenti (106 AB, .255 AVG, 3 HR, 15 RBI, .339 OBP, FA after 2022)
Whit Merrifield (129 AB, .256 AVG, 2 HR, 9 RBI, .299 OBP, FA after 2023)
David Peralta (108 AB, .231 AVG, 4 HR, 12 RBI, .291 OBP, FA after 2022)
Joc Pederson (90 AB, .222 AVG, 6 HR, 11 RBI, .307 OBP, FA after 2022)
Mike Yastrzemski (104 AB, .279 AVG, 8 HR, 24 RBI, .359 OBP, FA after 2025)
OF Whit Merrifield to the Red Sox for OF Gilberto Jimenez and RHP Connor Seabold OR LHP Chris Murphy feels like plenty.
OF David Peralta you could get for a lotto ticket like C Ronaldo Hernandez or RHP Kutter Crawford (both a bit of an overpay)
OF Joc Pederson could be had for like 2B Jeter Downs straight up, while Yastrzemski would be your big fish addition and could be had for one of 2 packages
(2B Nick Yorke, 3B/1B Blaze Jordan) or (RHP Bryan Bello, OF Jarren Duran, and 1B Bobby Dalbec)Comment

Re: MLB The Show 22 Trade Discussion Thread
Benintendi feels out of place because of how highly regarded he was as a prospect there, only to disappoint, and then he clearly blossomed once he was away. Whit and Peralta feel like the moth likely paths with Whit likely taking a larger return than Peralta.

Well if I keep playing the way I am right now, I’ll have no need to upgrade. Plus, I made a minor trade for Jake Cave to hopefully help with the offense as he has pretty decent contact and power ratings.
If I do continue to struggle and shift to seller mode, what might I get for these guys…
Nathan Eovaldi
Christian Vazquez
Bobby Dalbec
J.D. Martinez
Kike Hernandez
They’re all playing very similar to real life, except for Kike, he’s playing much better in-game. The typical teams are in buyer mode, so if you happen to have specific team and player suggestions, that would be even better. Thanks in advance.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Trade Discussion Thread
Hey y'all, I am playing as the Rockies and I am looking at adding Strasburg from the Nationals. I know he has a big negative contract but what would a deal look like if there is one to make? The Nationals are bottom feeders in the NL and the Rockies are leading the wild card. We are in middle June I believe.
I am looking at trading away CJ Cron, Y Daza, Iglesias and B Rogers before the trade deadline. All are playing very well. No big injuries to anyone through out the league right now. Any landing spots for these 4 players?
Thanks for the helpComment

Nationals get:
RP - Stephenson
Rockies get:
SP - Strasburg
SP - Gray
SP - Cavalli
2B - Garcia
C - Ruiz
That's the Nationals top prospect plus 3 other young MLB ready guys with good upside. It just can't happen.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 22 Trade Discussion Thread
There's simply no way that Strasburg gets traded. His contract is just too cumbersome. This is what a potential deal with the Rockies would have to look like according to Baseball Trade Values:
Nationals get:
RP - Stephenson
Rockies get:
SP - Strasburg
SP - Gray
SP - Cavalli
2B - Garcia
C - Ruiz

Re: MLB The Show 22 Trade Discussion Thread
4th of July and the Royale are 33-51. Our hitting is average our pitching is the worst in baseball minus Greinke who has been great in his return home.
Looking to get more players that fit the Witt, Pasquatino, Melendez timeline. Benitendi and Mondesi have been injured almost all season. Mondesi just got back and Beni is back in 2 weeks.
Looking to move all or some of
Hunter Dozier .228/.286/.383 10 HR's
Andrew Benintendi .235/.338/447 5 HR's
Adalberto Mondesi .187/.246/.337 5 HR'S
Salvador Perez if I must .291/.345/.529 16 HR's
Zack Grienke 7-4 102.2 INN, 45 K's, 2.54 ERA 1.02 WHIP
Players that have caught my eye.
Jarren Duran .206/.246/.327 2 HR's Red Sox 6.5 out of wild card
Adam Kloffenstein 4-9 90 INN, 90 K's 4.10 ERA with AAA Toronto who are 3 games back of Tampa in division.
Luis Gil NY ( just demoted to AAA due to roster depth as he wasn't terrible. 56 INN 48 K's 3.99 ERA gave up 10 HR's.....
Ryan Mountcastle Orioles season is done.
Hunter Bishop SF in a fight for Wildcard
Ha-Seong Kim SD has a plethora of SS
Miguel Vargas AA for LAD.
I'll take any suggestions as well for trade ideas in regards to players not listed. Just looking to build around Witt, Pratto and Pasquantino.Sacramento Kings San Diego Padres Dallas Cowboys Liverpool FC

I am the Rockies in around mid June. We are doing well in the wild card but we have kids coming up that I want to build around and looking at moving theese 4 players. I think I would be looking at starters and relievers over position players.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Trade Discussion Thread
Andrew Benintendi OF ~9.3
Zack Greinke RHP ~1.2 (with how well he is doing)
Royals Get:
Luis Medina RHP ~6.9 (11th prospect)
JP Sears LHP ~2.8 (23rd prospect)
Angels Get:
Hunter Dozier 3B ~-11.6
Royals Get:
Denny Brady RHP ~0.3 (35th "prospect")
Red Sox Get:
Salvador Perez C ~-58.2
Whit Merrifield UTL 6.0
Royals Get:
Matt Barnes RHP ~-16.6
Jackie Bradley Jr. OF ~-11.6
Jarren Duran OF ~21.5
Blaze Jordan 3B/1B ~7.6
Kind of weird deals, but they seem to work for me.
First deal is practically even. Yankees add one more SP that is having an excellent season, and Benintendi who will be an improvement over Gallo. Prospects coming back to you I believe Yankees would deal to win a ring.
Second deal kind of depends what the Angels are up to. You definitely win the deal, but the player coming back isn't noteworthy so I consider that even.
Last deal is very...interesting, but works. Vasquez takes out first base from the struggling Dalbec, Dalbec goes to the bench to play 1B/3B. Perez comes over very similar to Victor Martinez did from Cleveland years ago. In addition, Whit Merrifield comes over as a super utility, but could plug in as the starting right fielder pretty easily with the salary dumps of Barnes and Bradley Jr. Royals land two high quality prospects in Duran and Blaze.

Thank you Bard for your response. I will keep these in mind as I get into July (in game). Any other ideas on getting pitchers back instead of position players in any of these trade proposals?Comment

Re: MLB The Show 22 Trade Discussion Thread
1 game under .500. 8 games back in the division. 4 games back from Wildcard. Thinking change of scenery trade as both are playing awful in game and real life look to be possible trade candidates. Move Alec Bohm for Cavan Biggio? I need a SS in Philly and have Stott at short currently but want to move him to his natural 3B position. Also curious if Wheeler and Hoskins are tradeable? We spend a lot for a team with no playoffs for almost 20 years. Maybe get some MLB ready prospects that can pitch or play some defense.Sacramento Kings San Diego Padres Dallas Cowboys Liverpool FC

Re: MLB The Show 22 Trade Discussion Thread
With 2 days till the trade deadline and 3 games back in the Wildcard I'm going to push for the Wildcard this season and go all in next season with Philly. I have a couple ideas. Chicago is bad and another 2 years away at least.
----Ian Happ for Painter and McGarry
----Ian Happ for Mick Abel, Kingery and Moniak?
They get 2 good prospects in the timeline that fits for them. We get rid of Kingery's salary and get Happ to play CF.
----Texas give up Barlow and Adolis Garcia, we move O'Hoppe, Moniak and Rojas
Texas still rebuilding while we get 2 win now players.
----Guardians move Karinchak. We give up O'Hoppe
We get a reliever that we need desperately and Cleveland gets a strong catching prospect.
Also thought Pache from Oakland for McGarry? We don't need more hitters but could use Paches glove roaming CF.Sacramento Kings San Diego Padres Dallas Cowboys Liverpool FC

Re: MLB The Show 22 Trade Discussion Thread
I started a new franchise and in the first season with my rebuilding A's I made two deadline deals.
Deolis Guerra and Chad Pinder to the Mariners for Taylor Trammel.
Frankie Montas to the Padres for Mackenzie Gore, CJ Abrams and Reiss Knehr.
I only used the suggested trades and pick from the offers.
