Yeah he should be a good one. The more he develops the less I think I would trade him for Kelenic irl.

Valera is about a year and a half younger, with .285/ 393/.893 slash in AA with 20 XBH in 47 games as a 21 year old.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Trade Discussion Thread

So after a few sims, unless I sign Bieber to a 5 or 6 year deal after the 22 season, I just can't keep him long term as he usually asks for 30+ no matter how many years.

Would be looking at trades with the Cardinals, Yankees, Giants, Seattle, Toronto, Texas, Angels, TB. Looking for OF help, SP prospects, catcher prospects. Could package Straw, Arias, Freeman, Rosario with him for more value.

I have a few ideas in mind, feel like the Cardinals are a pretty solid fit.

I can't see this happening irl. It doesn't fit at all with the Reds approach at the moment and in general. I can see them trading Castillo at the deadline this year but for a prospect package in return.

There was talk of Barrero playing short in the bigs this year until he got injured and Williamson is a recent acquisition that seems to be fairly highly thought of. I don't see them trading those guys for a lateral move at pitcher.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Trade Discussion Thread

At the trade deadline in my 30 team control franchise. My favorite time of the year. I play as my twins, but I control all the other teams’ lineups, injuries, call ups, etc.

Don’t remember the exact numbers off the top of my head, but the Yankees are currently out of the playoffs, but in striking distance for wild card and division. They have got nothing from half their line up this season. Donaldsons been hurt and I currently have him on a rehab assignment. Rizzo and gallo have sucked. Got nothing from the ex ranger or locastro.

Thinking they should trade with the royals for Merrifield. Royals are dead last in the division and are sellers.

Thoughts on merrifield for prospects Medina and Florial?

Wilson Contreras(13.7) is on the move at the deadline. These are some packages I am just throwing around in my head. What would be the best/most realistic?

                  Padres send wood(13.6) and knehr(1.6)

Astros send Brown(14.5) and Whitley (1.6)

Yankees send Wells (8.3) and Garcia (.2) and Sweeney (7.8)

Bieber will be the next pitcher to leave if they follow Cleveland traditions lol
Not to mention, the way Bieber is pitching in my franchise, I'm about to move him.

Probably looking at Matos, Bello, Bart, Pederson, Pomares (65.70) Bieber BTV has dropped to 62.5 for some reason but is off to the second best start of his career and still has a few years of team control.

Question, i did a trade as the Orioles with the cubs. I checked the trade thing website but still want your guys opinion.

                              Mullins to CHC
Davis, Morel and Heuer to BAL

Is this something the cubs and orioles would do?

This doesn't seem like the most likely scenario in terms of how it would play out in real life but it's probably realistic enough. It all depends on how each team is performing in your save.

I'm not a fan of either team so someone who is can correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that the Cubs are rebuilding/retooling right now so probably wouldn't want to give up prospects for a guy who is a better fit for an immediate contender. With that being said, Mullins does have three years of team control left on his deal so there's time to build around him.

The deal seems to make more sense for the Orioles in terms of their timeline but they might be looking to hold onto him in real life. Again, I don't really follow them but a fan may have some better insight.

Finally, you're a little in terms of the value. This wouldn't usually be an issue and you're close enough that the trade is still fine on BTV. However, BTV only displays their surplus value in terms of salary vs performance. It doesn't take into account the demand for the player, and doesn't even fully take into account the amount of team control left (though it certainly does to some extent). Because Mullins has three years of arbitration left, the Orioles are, by no means, forced to trade him at any point soon. This immediately means that you should be going over his value rather than under imo. In addition, if he was available, Mullins would likely be pursued by a number of teams who would end up bidding against each other. This would also drive his price up and allow the Orioles to demand over his value. For these reasons, I'd be looking at giving up at least $60m in value for him.

                                Maybe something like this:

                                Davis - OF - 39.3
                                Alcantara - OF - 14.9
                                Heuer - RHP - 5.9
                                Total: 60.1
