Re: MLB The Show 22 Trade Discussion Thread

I was looking at other potential deals if I don’t make the Soto trade in my franchise. Looks like according to trade values site, I can tick both of my boxes without having to give up a bunch of surplus.

Blue Jays get: Bentendi, Santana, Staumont (total value 11.30).
    Royals get: Tiedemann (11.70)

Gets me my left handed bat, plus a bench switch hitter (taking on Santana contract) and a back end of the bullpen reliever with strike out stuff.

Let me know what you think of that. I also have surplus at C.

I went ahead with that one.

Gives me a 2023 opening day line up of

      Gimenez/Straw
      Kwan
      JRam
      Verdugo
      Josh Naylor (DH)
      Nolan Jones/Valera
      Valera/Snyder
      Bo Naylor
      Freeman

Platoon Valera and Straw since Straw hits lefties so well, and Valera developed into a 70 contact 56 power hitter in 22 in AA vs rhp.

Platoon Jones and Snyder at 1B, play Jones vs RHP and Snyder vs LHP.

Rotation of Bieber, Mckenzie, Espino, Quantrill and Plesac with the potential of Williams or Allen moving into the rotation through the season.

Started 7-3 and Valera has been a beast, 5 HRs already.

Young line up, but 7-3 in the first 10.

Kris Bryant to the Twins for Austin Martin. I started a new franchise with the Rockies and just wanted to completely rebuild. I have no idea why the Rockies signed him to begin with so I went with that trade. The Twins had more than enough in cap to do it too.

This is one of the more lopsided trades I've ever seen, and it's pretty bizarre for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, these guys are approximately $150m apart in terms of their trade value. Austin Martin is valued at $21.5, whereas Kris Bryant is valued at -$133.1. In terms of straight up value, this trade is wildly unfair.

Secondly, as you noted, the Rockies have only just signed Bryant, and they signed him to a bug, long term deal. Why would they trade him so soon?

If you're just having fun and want to do a fantasy style rebuild then Austin Martin is probably a decent player to target. However, with respect, this thread is for people to discuss realistic trades, and this trade doesn't seem realistic in the slightest.

Glad someone beat me to the punch for this, because I was laughing when I saw this trade for a variety of reasons. Starting off the with the values are completely off and secondly, the Twins make no sense for a Bryant landing spot. I agree here, in the sense of that you inherit the contracts of the players of the team you select. By that principle, you understand that contracts like this are immovable at least for the first 3-4 years. Realism clearly went out the window with this.

Really like this deal for the years of control with Staumont

Bentendi has basically doubled in value on the site. Now that package is 15.50. Tiedemann is only 11.30. Any help is appreciated. Happy to make it a bigger deal if needed.

Going off of current values, I came up with this

Blue Jays get: Benintendi, Staumont, Santana, Mozzicato 20.5
Royals get: Tiedemann and Pearson 20.8

Gives you all 3 targets and and young high upside arm in Mozzicato for Tiedemann and Pearson, whom prolly needs MLB innings and is blocked in Toronto. I would also consider swapping Staumont with Singer, I like Singer's upside better and he is younger.

I think im ready to start my actual long term franchises (simed a few to see how the game mechanics and development works etc) when I leave the gym.

How do yall determine value of drafted prospects? Just by their ovr and development grade ?

Looking to shake up the Mariners roster, im almost 40 games in and have gotten a good feel for what changes need to be made. Really looking to add some speed to the club!

Looking to hear realistic landing spots for these guys and maybe potential packages

                        Adam Frazier
                        Ty France
                        Jarred Kelenic
                        Chris Flexen
                        Marco Gonzales

looking to get a contact speed guy at 2B and more power at 1B and the pitchers are being phased out due to younger prospects.

Thanks bud! All will prolly move except France at least for this season, not really any other intriguing big bat mlb ready bats at the moment that rival his stats at 1B.
