Re: MLB The Show 22 Trade Discussion Thread

Currently in May with my Blue Jays and sitting 18-16. Hit a bit of a hot streak right now and swept the Guardians. They are struggling bad right now and likely will be sellers come the deadline. I would like to get a late inning reliever and to add to my power to build on strengths and upgrade my lineup protection. Consulted the website as suggested. Was thinking of this trade:

    Blue Jays get:
    Karinchak (17.5)
    Reyes (12.4)
    VALUE = 29.9

    Indians get:
    Groshans (14)
    Kirk (15.8)
    VALUE = 29.9

That trade is pretty even value wise. I would even throw them a lottery ticket to give them a little extra. Cleveland is getting nothing from their C position and Kirk is a pretty good hitter so far this year. I plan to call up Moreno at some point and Collins is hitting well so he’s not needed as much. Groshans is the teams third best prospect according to MLB.com.

Any feedback would be appreciated. I plan to wait a month to see how things shape up, but if Cleveland is surely out of it, is this fair?

    Thanks !

I am an Indians fan so this is coming from a good place. The last thing this team needs is another middle infielder, even as special as Groshon could be. There are at least four relatively high middle infield prospects already on the team. The primary need for Cleveland is power from the outfield.

Thanks for that! Would it be possible to get that package with Reyes or am I better off going another route? Do you see any OF prospects in our system that you could be interested in? Gurriel Jr could be traded with Kirk but not sure I want to give too much from my roster. Maybe I’m better off just going for Kairnchack and looking for another bat elsewhere.

        What about this:

        Indians get:
Kirk, Leo Jimenez and a lotto ticket

        Blue Jays get:
        Kairnchak and Bobby Bradley

You can have Bradley. IRL he was DFAd and is now in AAA.

What would it take to get Josh Bell from the Nationals if they were out of it. His value is 0 on the trade simulator website. While I don’t expect to be giving my top prospects for a rental, he is hitting .240 with 5 homers in the first month of the season and I feel it would take more than a lotto pick to get him.

            Thanks in advanced.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Trade Discussion Thread

Hi all, wanted to get thoughts on a CPU-CPU trade in my franchise. I am trying to decide whether or not to approve it. I am the Mariners in my chise so no skin in this and I am not super familiar with either team so would love to hear others thoughts:

              Diamondback receive:
              1B Andrew Vaughn (35.3 BTV)

              White Sox Receive:
              OF Corbin Carroll (53.2 BTV)

Both are highly touted young players in their orgs. My thought after looking at this was that Vaughn is blocked by Abreu so this makes sense for the Sox. Not sure on the D-Backs side though. they don't have a great 1B but according to BTV Carroll is their most highly valued player in the entire org. I am leaning toward no because of that but if anyone has any other thoughts let me know (especially any D-backs fans)

                Someone pretend to be Philly.

I’d like to get my hands on Odubel Herrera. What do you want? Thinking position player not pitcher. Thanks.
                Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

Just getting back after a little break from the Show...

Seems like Bell's numbers are similar-ish to his real life numbers (he's been better IRL)...BTV has him at 0.5, with a high of 0.9, which is probably where I'd aim, or slightly above.

If I was to guess, the real life Nats would probably eat some of that money to up their return, but unfortunately the negative value contracts from the Jays are all guys that simply won't be moved (Kikuchi, Ryu, Garcia, Berrios)

                          So, maybe:
                          WSH: Bell
                          TOR: Espino (0.6)+Young (0.5)

I don't know...Basically what I'm thinking is two fringy guys that have a bit of potential, but nothing major.

So as the Nationals, I'm considering moving Soto. Now I've only just begun the season, so I still have plenty of time, but I'm most likely going for a rebuild. I've scouted the other teams and come up with a list of players for each team that I'd be willing to discuss in trade. And I just want to add that obviously not all of these players would be attainable in the same package.

Yankees: Luis Gil, Deivi Garcia, Oswald Peraza, Anthony Volpe, Trey Sweeney, Miguel Andujar (more as a throw-in), Jasson Dominguez, Estevan Florial, Everson Pereira,

White Sox: Jake Burger, Andrew Vaughn, Oscar Colas, Gavin Sheets, Jonathan Stiever, Micker Adolfo

Mariners: Kyle Lewis, Jarred Kelenic, Noelvi Marte, Andres Munoz, Matt Brash, Emerson Hancock, George Kirby

Rangers: Jack Leiter, Cole Winn, Yohel Pozo, Justin Foscue, Josh Jung, Willie Calhoun, Ezequiel Duran, Bubba Thompson

Dodgers: Dustin May, Ryan Pepoit, Bobby Miller, Brusdar Graterol, Gavin Lux, Michael Busch, Kody Hoese, Andy Pages

Padres: MacKenzie Gore, Adrian Morejon, Ryan Weathers, C.J. Abrams, Robert Hassell, James Wood

I'm sure there are some names that are more than attainable, but they are young and/or controllable and still have potential for a rebuilding team. I do generally stay away from specific prospects that are really of no use to me, like catcher, given the presence of Keibert Ruiz. I also like to get prospects that are MLB-ready so I have a chance to actually use them as I play every game.

Using the Rockies and 2B has been a bit of a black hole for me...any feedback on the following options to take over at second? Also open to any other ideas y'all have

Rockies Get: Gleyber Torres, Aaron Hicks
                                Yankees Get: Charlie Blackmon

Yankees get out of the last 4 years of Aaron Hicks' contract ($40M over the next 4 years) and take on the last 2 years of Blackmon's deal ($39M over 2 years). Blackmon gives the Yankees another left-handed bat in a right-hand heavy lineup.

                                Rockies Get: Vidal Brujan
Rays Get: Willie MacIver (C), Ryan Rolison (LHP), Elehuris Montero (1B/3B)

Brujan might be a little logjammed with Wander, Lowe, and Walls, but he's still a high-level prospect. Rolison is an MLB-ready lefty and Montero is one of the Rockies' top 5 prospects because of his bat. MacIver is a throw-in at catcher who somehow the Rays could do something with. This trade is probably hard to pull off because of Brujan's value and the Rays' lack of bad contracts, but I could probably throw someone like Michael Toglia or Ryan Vilade into the deal as well.

Rockies Get: Cavan Biggio, CJ Van Eyk
Blue Jays Get: Peter Lambert, Hunter Goodman

Biggio is done in Toronto and I like Van Eyk's arm. Toronto gets Lambert who's close to the big leagues and could be a bottom of the rotation arm. Goodman is a young catching prospect who could work his way up to the bigs because of a ton of raw power.

                                Rockies Get: Nicky Lopez
Royals Get: Ryan Vilade, Colton Welker

Lopez could probably thrive with the huge outfield at Coors, hitting a ton of doubles and playing great defense at 2nd, but they probably see him as the middle infield of the future with Witt as they move on from Mondesi. Vilade and Welker are two guys who could be in the Majors in the immediate future and take over for some of the older guys on the Royals.

                                Rockies Get:Keston Hiura
                                Brewers Get:Alan Trejo

Hiura could probably use a change of scenery. He has almost no value to Milwaukee with Urias, Wong, and Adames planted in the middle infield. Someone like Trejo goes the other way just to give Milwaukee some depth at SS/2B.
