This is a cool animation I've never seen before. Catcher loses the ball on a swipe tag.

Would someone do me a quick favor and see if in Manage Mode we can use the Broadcast camera? Someone posted they thought we can only use backstop and it’s a bug. Sure hope this isn’t true as that’s all I play! Thanks so much

One thing I just remembered - last year, it seemed like hitting on Rookie and Veteran meant the AI pitcher basically only threw strikes. Walks were very hard to come by, whereas on AS there was more need to actually have plate discipline. My impression in this year's edition is that the speed difference in pitches between Rookie/Vet/AS are roughly the same, but pitchers will actually throw balls in all three difficulty levels, to the point where plate discipline matters and walks are actually possible on those levels on a regular basis.

I've noticed this too actually. It's awesome drawing more walks and having to lay off more pitches.

Overall the game is great. Every aspect is nailed for the most part and feels very good, except human hitting. Now, keep in mind this is just my perspective and what I am looking for likely differs from what most are. That being said, I made the jump to legendary difficulty for hitting and through 7 in my last game I had 3 hits with all 3 being HR's. I know right now baseball wants as many HR's as possible, but I would really, really like to see some more doubles and less HR's, especially no doubt shots hit by guys with mediocre power consistently.

Luckily there are a lot of new sliders that I pray will help me find the balance I am looking for runs wise, singles/doubles wise, and HR's wise. With that being said (I am not trying to argue with anyone, just chill) I believe, for me at least, that this game has the potential to slip into the same time zone as MLB 20, aka The GOAT. I really do mean that. Every aspect of this game is awesome, and feels much improved from 23. Hit variety is still very nice, just want more doubles (many potential doubles keep going foul down the lines lol) and base hit variety. Like I said, these new sliders could very well help achieve this when put to use by a better mind than mine.

There is so much potential here for everyone, and for those playing modern/current only this game is sick. The stadium creator looks different too, much nicer and cleaner. You know where my issues stands by now, but outside of that, this game is very well made. If you are on the fence, just go for it.

I wasn't even going to get it and I made an impulse buy last evening and am glad I did. Animations are so good, presentation is 10/10, and it's fun to play.

EDIT: So right after I made this post, I dropped Human Power, Solid Hits, and Timing by 1, and through 4 with Detroit I have 2 singles and 2 doubles! One was a sweet gapper by Baez and the other almost was but was ran down and the guy had 88 spd, so it was very realistic. The two singles were a nice dying slow fly and a beautiful liner up the middle. Yes, yes, very early, but now i have 2 doubles and 1 run through 4 and nothing felt forced, off, or uncanny. My God dudes, these sliders may work in my/our favor. Let's go!
It’s definitely going to be slider adjustments. I play on legendary hitting and I’ve been scoring a bunch of runs and getting hits. Not every game, but enough to let me not touch hitting sliders again this year. Pitching seems to be harder, which is a good thing since it was too easy using pinpoint to K guys.

Re: MLB The Show 24 Impressions Thread

                      I’ll keep my impressions short.

Gameplay continues to improve every year. Some sweet animations at the walls, robbing HR’s. Animations of middle infielders making nice plays backing up teammates on crazy bounces.

Presentation wise I’m enjoying the atmosphere of the crowd and the added noise of the stadium sounds. Enjoy the commentary though it can quickly become repetitive when you’re playing every game. Loving the stats included in game presentation but not a fan of some graphical and colour choices. Visually I prefer a more traditional style I guess.

Don’t really like the menu UI. Too bright and the number font being used is difficult to read sometimes.

Graphically the game looks great. Stadiums and players look bright and clean. Very nice.

Franchise bullpen and lineup AI is still questionable in my opinion.

Personally I’m glad I made the decision to purchase again this year.

Really cool that the Reds have Kroger ads on their uniforms.

Didn’t notice if all teams have realistic ads or not.

I like the roar of the crowd when there is a ball to the gap.

Lotta little things that really caught me off guard, in a good way. But the fact that they have a different play by play for minor league games vs MLB games is incredible in my eyes. Big thumbs up
