I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I disagree. While YES, CFB dynasty was “flawed” it was an absolute blast to play. Just ask anyone who played the game. The shows franchise is just not fun to play anymore. It’s stale and more of the same ol same ol. HOWEVER, I do like the additions this year and I am very intrigued. I am looking forward to seeing more Thursday
The actual gameplay imo is fantastic. The franchise mode features can be lacking and does not give the mode depth, but the actual product on the field is the best sports simulation around.Comment

I am a well known 30 team control guy however I only step in because of what you are talking about.
My hope is with this total revamp I see the CPU controlled teams participate like they should logically in the off-season.
I am very much looking forward to tomorrow's stream. I think it looks on the surface outstanding and a huge improvement.
I will still employ 30 team control for lineups and rotations management but I look forward to not having to deal with anything else with this new deeper offseason.
I am so pumped.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Deep Dive Franchise Front Office Experience
I do like the look and freshness this brings to free agency in the offseason.
I’ve been a 30-team control player and that includes the offseason’s free agency aspect. My main gripe with how CPU handled the free agents was signing top players at a position they already have a quality player/prospect. For example, the Giants signing Willy Adames in 2024 but come 2025 they’ll sign Bo Bichette. Both great SSs.
My 30team control forced me to oversee all top free agents and place them on a team that had a need and made sense for that player. I’d only have 1 team offer a contract and that’s where they’d end up. It works and it’s fun playing GM for 30 teams. But of course this takes the randomness and “RPG” aspect out of a franchise.
It looks like the positional depth is a factor in ‘25 along with team competitiveness. I guess we won’t truly know how free agency will play out until release date and tests are run but it’s a bit of a bummer that the biggest area of focus and improvement is on the free agency portion of the offseason.
There are many glaring issues that are still needing attention, specifically progression/regression.
Training and coaching playing a factor
Performance tuning down rapid regression on “agin” players. (10+ service years should not be death sentence)
But also, bullpen logic, trading options including more than 2 teams, more than 3 players per team.
I love the fact we are getting into the guts of franchise and not offering ways to simulate as this cycle’s improvements. But can’t help to feel there’s a lot of meat on the bone they’re pushing off to next years game that addresses more niche areas of the mode.Comment

It is long overdue for MLBTS to allow users to edit rules/change user controlled teams while within a season.
30 team control guy myself and I feel like FA could get crazy to deal with if it’s still necessary.

This looks like TBarnes had his hands all over this new Off-Season and my hope is the logic is tuned properly.
Like you I did a ton of dice rolling in the off-season for the other 29 teams...and while I have fun doing it....my preference is smarter AI to do this so I can be in competition as a GM with the other 29 teams....not holding their hands.
At the very least we have a new foundation here for the off season....and hopefully we are pleasantly surprised by the logic code written and working fairly well. I don't expect perfection....but I just want good logic. Now Playing on PS5:

Either way, this is a MLBTS thread and as you mentioned, I’m also excited for tomorrow to see more details about the updates to Franchise.Comment

Either way, hopefully this new system addresses that. I’ve always just played one season(really I restart a bunch of seasons and maybe finish one), but I’m really looking forward to/ hoping to hit the ground running this year, not look back, and get through a few seasons.Comment

Gladly but you didn't answer my question. Are you using manage mode with default sliders or are you doctoring sliders?≡Comment
