Re: MLB The Show 25 Deep Dive Franchise Front Office Experience
This was like spending multiple weeks being told that you're right there when it comes to signing Juan Soto, only to end up with Anthony Santander...a fun addition, that raises the ceiling, but not the one that would have blown the roof right off.
Welcome to a taste of the life of a Jays fan over the past couple of off seasons, friends!
Don't get me wrong, this adds a fun, exciting layer to the free agency, but man, if the ability to add options/front or backload contracts/etc. isn't there (I didn't see it, but I may have missed it), that's a fairly significant blow. Given that the stream only ended up focusing on the offseason, there was a moment where I thought that maybe the winter meetings would finally have some significance, but it seems like it'll just stick as a date on the calendar.
I was also extremely disappointed when they said (however it was worded) "We know you guys want to get through seasons fast, and we want to get you through them fast!". Don't get me wrong, because I certainly don't begrudge those who are sim-first players, but if I was just looking for the front office experience, I would play OOTP.
Most of you have already hit the nail on the head when it comes to AI Bullpen logic (Matt Strahm as the setup man only pitching 20 innings in that video, so either he got hurt or we're correct), etc., so I'll skip over that.
All in all, I'm still going to pick it up at some point (there's no real sense of urgency though), and I know I'll still love it from an on-field gameplay perspective, and honestly from the management side, but I just wish they'd fix the little things that continue to plague the game. I can't say for sure, but I honestly think I would have been quite content had they said "Here's this new feature, and also we've fixed the bullpen issues!"
Cheers fellas!2025 Expos Expansion:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1295163793Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Deep Dive Franchise Front Office Experience
It was nice to see the system in action, but it ended up being dragged out. I'm assuming that's because the storylines got cut from this week.2025 Expos Expansion:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1295163793Comment

Yeah, it would have been nice to be able to do opt outs or no trade clauses. Especially the opt-outs, which have been very popular recently.Follow me on Twitch

One last thing, it appears they cut the ability to structure contracts or add options?

Re: MLB The Show 25 Deep Dive Franchise Front Office Experience
I can’t confirm this because they did not show it…..but when we can do contract extensions during spring training and in July I assume the player/team options and front end back end or balanced structures are still in.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 02-27-2025, 05:33 PM.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: MLB The Show 25 Deep Dive Franchise Front Office Experience
I found it odd that when initially talking about the Big Market Teams and them playing a role in Free Agency, not one Big Market Team was involved in any of the FA’s on the rumored to be talking to icons. Kind of comical. I know we saw Tuckers deal with the Dodgers, but out the gate none of the 6 teams shown were Big Market.Twitch

Re: MLB The Show 25 Deep Dive Franchise Front Office Experience
Overall I’m happy with what I saw during the premier today. I was hoping they’d touch on presentation but that’s fine. I’ll let it be a surprise. Only thing I don’t like is only being able to pursue 3 players at a time in free agency. I should be able to sign some lower level middle relievers or some depth type players that will not take much negotiation while still going after my top 3. I don’t really like having limits put up. But overall I’m impressed.Comment

Red Sox numbers were still too low on the backs though. So I’m assuming the Yankees jerseys won’t be right either.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Deep Dive Franchise Front Office Experience
A lot looked good and a lot was left to be desired. I am curious how the contracts will look down the road with aging etc. Curious it it wiill it break things after a few years. Has aging been an issue in the game? It I has been a few years since I last got deep into a franchise.

They use the same template spot for the numbers for all teams, so it will be the same. They’d have to customize it for both teams for it to be right.Comment
