And these new uniform templates I didnt liked AT ALL!! From hitter's cam, they completed ****ed up. Take a look at Fitzgerald's 00:32:48... Lee at 00:33:50... Everyone seems to have a buffed body wearing a corset. Horrible thing

Re: MLB The Show 25 Deep Dive Franchise Front Office Experience

I have been thinking about this a lot lately and I think I understand why it may be hard to adjust and "fix" the bullpen logic within The Show.

If you look at the history of baseball and look at it just from a pure player rating standpoint, you used to have pitchers that threw well over 200 innings each year. As an example, in 1985 over 50 pitchers threw over 200 innings with Bert Blyleven leading the league at 293.2 innings. Dan Quisenberry pitched in 84 games and threw 129 innings as a reliever. I mean Nolan Ryan averaged almost 7 innings per game throughout his career!! IIRC he threw 150 pitches in one game and followed that up with a 164 pitch effort in his next start.

So, what has been the biggest change since those times. The concern, and amount, that players get hurt by throwing too many innings and pitches. That is the only thing that has changed, which is crazy to me. Humans nowadays are bigger and stronger than ever before and yet we treat pitchers like they are newborns. I think this is where the change will have to come in order for SDS to fix the pitching logic.

They are going to have to somehow adjust stamina and chance of injury and somehow make that one of the deciding factors when it comes to pitchers. I mean let's be honest, if you had a chance to bring in Mariano Rivera almost every game because the concern of injury was very small, wouldn't you do it? That is the problem in the Show and one that is going to have to take some sort of rewrite of code to fix. The CPU uses the best player based on ratings and with minor regard for stamina because lower stamina does not affect the chances of an injury. As much as programmers are amazing at what they do, I don't know if they have are quite to the point of designing actual human minds that can think of millions of things at once.

Now that this base is done, they should be able to focus on the bullpen logic/roster management since that is the next big legacy item to fix. It actually has shown me for the first time in years that they are going in the right direction and care about the mode, so I think that will be the focus for next years game.
I agree with you. In my mind, there's really no way we should all be disappointed with the improvements to Franchise that we've seen the past 2 years. As you said, they have to rebuild/recode different aspects of Franchise mode.

As much as we all want to see it happen, there is not some magic switch that completely rebuilds Franchise (or any game mode) at once.

Development and coding things like this takes time and manpower, so as long as SDS continues to budget dedicated dev time for Franchise and introduce substantial changes like we've seen the past 2 years, I'm happy. I remember we all trashed SDS for the SUPER bare bones updates to Franchise several years ago, and SDS deserved to be blasted for doing essentially nothing to improve Franchise back then. But now that it's obvious that they are taking Franchise more seriously, we can't trash them IMO. They are putting in the work, so let's be excited about that.

Are there more things that I would like to see add/vastly improved in Franchise? Of course there is. But I must say that I like the way they're rebuilding Franchise piece by piece and I respect them for acknowledging previous issues in the logic as they're presenting the new logic.

Honestly: This would make me even more happy then the FA system additions. I hope that is the case for all the oversea additions, that would save me some time to create them so I could go into franchise day 1.

But to that again: As someone who already thought about adding houserules to prevent small teams to sign stars, make contracts bigger and free agency tougher for me as a player it looks like I don't need that anymore. They kinda tackled a lot of the transactions issues players had for years(that didn't want to use 30 team control of course). So that is a big deal.

Of course it is just one area of a bunch that needed addressing. But with a yearly release you just have to work with babysteps like that I suppose. Imagine they try to add 4 different new systems in one game and 3 don't work out and break the mode.

Watched the in depth live franchise video. Overall I do like the free agency changes. The added info on player cards is really nice. Being able to see last 10 games played stats for all players will be more involved way to track hot and cold streaks.

I don't like how they didn't say lineup and bullpen usage logic was even touched or not. They briefly mentioned lineup and bullpen logic, but he seemed to be talking about them not stacking positions anymore from free agency.

That's great, but doesn't solve the bullpen usage management that we have the problem with. It wasn't expected to be fixed so it's okay. However, with all the new additions for off-season I'm going to have to say goodbye to 30 team control to enjoy all of it properly. That will make the bullpen logic unable to be fixed with setting up their bullpens how we normally do. So it's a double edged sword for me. Looking forward to the game nonetheless.

No doubt most people wouldn’t notice, but I’ve definitely seen a few Yankee fans in the past few years asking if the numbers have been fixed. Maybe it’s just been the same one though 🤣

I’m inclined to agree. The player models look great from the front, but when they’re at-bat and see them from the side, not so much 😬 They honestly look like they have enlarged rib cages or something

I'd like to think that they may be still dialing in the proportions. Some guys look way too skinny. This seems like something that was only recently integrated into the game code since they were still using the old style uniforms in last week's RTTS stream, so there are probably still a few kinks to work out. Hopefully it's something they can remedy by launch.

103 minutes showing the Rangers trying to sign Zac Gallen. And now I get to enjoy the EXACT same middle relief pitcher pitching multiple innings in all 3 games of a series despite having zero energy.

This feels like one step forward and 3 steps backwards imo.

No ability to front or back load contracts, add option years, opt outs is unacceptable. Yes the initial demands are true to life but you still end up with unrealistic contracts because they seem to have removed to those very essential nuances.

Why can you only target 3 free agents at a time? Why will their interest/motivation to sign not go beyond 88% (they mentioned it being unrealistic, I beg to differ)? Is there luxury tax in the game?

Also on the logic front which they claim has been overhauled, I saw Julio Rodriguez being traded to the Orioles for Gunnar Henderson... I'm sorry, but what is that? Bo Bichette asking for 12M AAV in free agency. These things clearly show it's nowhere near what it should be. And they haven't even talked about roster logic, bullpen use, etc so I'm guessing those things are still they way they were...broken.

Instead of doing a proper graphics update, let's stick with the old engine and in order to make uniforms look more realistic we now have deformed player models. Pitchers still throw the ball without any visible effort/whip like motion, high socks are still ending halfway on the shin, no baggy uniforms, jewelry is still caked onto the body.

If franchise mode was heavily improved I would be able to live with the other stuff being below average, but yesterday's stream was highly disappointing. And I get that people in the chat can be vile, but they ignored every critical or in depth question. This game franchise needs a serious shakeup because it's close to being dead imo.
