Re: MLB The Show 2025 Early Impressions
Reason I ask is that it’s still very easy to locate pitches and dominate. 75% of the reason I purchased 25 was because of GOAT pitching difficulty which I had hoped would make a major difference but it really didn’t do much IMO. Hoping to hear from others who use pinpointComment

confirmed it's in with R2+R3 but for me the color contrast is terrible and not easy to see all ratings displayed now on for each players.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 2025 Early Impressions
So theres a weird thing with these new player models. The default is for them to look like a top of the line, in shape athlete. Then it seems as if they need to go in and edit the body model if the player is large or has a stomach. So looking at like Alek Manoah, he looks huge. But then a player like Joe Jimenez and Pete alonso look they are super fit. In game Jimenez is 6’3 , 277 but looks like Yandy diaz. The body types def do not scale with weight and they got a lot of work to do as far getting athletic build off a large portion of the players.Last edited by djflock; 03-14-2025, 01:15 PM.Comment

Indeed, that’s why they should have done a better job with choice of colors and contrast.
Something missing is that left-top pop-up where you can see Pitchers stikes, balls on first pitch %, hard it balls etc.
Can’t find it anywhere, another useful thing they ditched apparently.Comment

Completely agree. At first I thought they were too thin, but I realized I was just so used to seeing how the old model actually made everyone look too thick and blocky. Now they look more realistically proportioned and athletic. They do look a little awkward in some poses but overall I think it's a huge step up.Comment

I need to test it with lower end pitchers though to see if it’s any more difficult to get the timing down.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 2025 Early Impressions
Only got to play about 5 innings last night. One thing I was hoping to be finally fixed was the "penalty" to stamina/confidence when using the Schedule to Pitch functionality and it still doesn't seem to be. I warmed up my pitcher, he was warm, selected Schedule to Pitch and he came in with an already lower stamina. This one really bothers me...MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies

Re: MLB The Show 2025 Early Impressions
The home run camera is atrocious lol. But I’ll give a positive with the negative, I kind of like how the home run camera also activates if you’re pitching from broadcast view. I just can’t stand the distance graphic.
Overall, gameplay is still solidly The Show quality. Best representation of the actual sport among all sports video games. Player body and uniform models are a solid improvement. Strange regression on equipment models and no added equipment so far outside of some new New Balance cleats. It seems likely there will be additions in the first few patches. Grass and dirt are a big improvement. Lighting has definitely improved. A little frustrated in the lack of player likeness additions. Garrett Crochet was a big free agency story and his face scan is from ~2021 so it would be good to get a roster update there. Fielding is also a solid improvement. Pitching animations remain lackluster. Verdict is still out on bullpen management as I’ve only just started a franchise. Would have also been nice to see more names added for commentary, at least all major league player names as they are actually recorded. So that seems like an unreasonable oversight. Overall, it’s better than 24 but amongst the entire genre this is still the slowest improving major title. I would like to see some major changes to franchise that don’t involve the off season for next year.CarefreeComment
