I think we will fundamentally disagree on the current scouting system and move forward.

A few things to respond to:

1. I never tried the numbers thing you are referring to. Seems interesting. I may find a few picks and do the math on it to see.

2. Discovery only discovers players outside of the top 200. There is a very small chance of finding a quality player. Don't use it.

3. I am in Spring year 8 of my sim so I don't have the players stats from their draft years. I only write down their potential and what year they were drafted. But I will say, it was two SP, a RP, and a SS, 3B, and LF and all 6 are on my MLB team and are all part of my core of players. My end plan is to sim out 20 years at least and have files saved for each year and replay a year to see if I do better than my sim. Likely 2036-2040 as my first drafted players are in their primes and I have to decide if the Guardians are going to spend money.

4. As far as what you did to scout, there are different philosophies and ways to do it. That is the nice thing. I only scout positions for 2 weeks total. I only scout players for 1 week until week 10-11. I spend those last few weeks scouting players who I want to target a second time.



Scouting is fun. I had my first 5 drafts be amazing then I missed on my first pick in the 6th draft draft but ended up with a great pick in the second round. In my 7th season draft I did last night, I had the 5th pick and got a decent player, an 83 potential SP, but missed out on a better pitcher after being unsure of which one to draft. I plan to get to my next draft by tomorrow and it will be very important as Cleveland is starting to come out of their rebuild and the players in this draft will likely need to be key pieces to maintain a successful future.

In order for the system I posted to work you need to fully scout a player with a high quality scout. As of mlbts23 it worked 100%.

The only position I scout is SP. Waste of time to scout anything else because of the limited number of players and time it takes to scout a group. You can land a couple good SP every draft if you scout SP in all regions. If your draft picks are in MLB then you are doing good. Perhaps they upgraded player quality and progression from 23. I did notice after a month in my franchise players who are performing well seem to get a good boost in their attributes. Small sample size but it does appear they changed progression.

Improved Prospect Trade Metric Accuracy: We now do a better job of predicting when a prospect will make his MLB debut and when their team control clock will start winding down. This leads to more accurate trade values for prospects with the biggest boost going to younger top prospects.
Trade Metric Contract Effect Dampening: Lessened any negative contract effect on good players. star players will see the biggest boost in their trade value if they have a negative contract effect.
Bottom Ticker: Added projected standings and projected leaders for first ten games of the regular season.
Fixed an issue where some prospects would have the incorrect round drafted as 0 on their player card.
Improved menu functionality to prevent accidentally jumping to the max amount in contract extensions for prospects.
Fixed an issue where the “Rumored Talking to [Teams]” could display incorrect information after tabbing over.
Fixed an issue where some teams (Guardians/Astros/Rays/White Sox) had inconsistent game start times in season modes.
Updated March To October rosters with teams’ late offseason free agent signings.


Most of the stuff on this list will never make it into the game. Franchise developer resources are being spread thin.

The bolded item would've been handled by the team that works on rosters, not the franchise developers.

I ask yet again, who are your sources? Just curious how you know they don’t have enough developers for Franchise mode or if you are just guessing. You seem very certain based on your posts.

He doesn’t have a point. He just makes stuff up in an attempt to I guess persuade people that if SDS would listen to him then we’d all be better off.

This time he tried to provide a fact to validate his “point” that franchise developers are spread too thin, but unfortunately the fact he presented isn’t something the franchise developers would have been involved with but yet a different department/team.

Lol. The one thing related to MtO in the patch probably took the least amount of "developer time" to implement- and as CB mentioned isn't even something the franchise team would have anything to do with.

I’d be careful using “do you comprehend” as a condescending remark given your track record of ignorance.

Which is on display again here.

Stating that Storylines and MTO are preventing franchise mode from improving when the past 3 installments of the game produced some of the most significant improvements to the mode than the last decade prior combined is preposterous.

I give you credit though. Despite the numerous times that your completely unfounded opinions have been debunked by fact, you continue to proudly showcase your ignorance at every opportunity for the whole community to see.
