Not having custom draft classes in this day and age is just lazy. The other games have had this feature for almost a decade now.Comment

Re: MLB The Show Survey....Serious Things Being Discussed
More about priorities than any laziness. I hope to see the draft move up on the priority list soon. Not just with a custom draft class but far far more important, double or even triple the amount of rounds. I can't even get invested in the draft, at seven rounds. I build my teams thru free agency. The draft, set it on auto scout and forget it. But if they ever get a larger draft combined with four full minor league teams per MLB team, I would be in hog heaven.T-BONE.

Re: MLB The Show Survey....Serious Things Being Discussed
Yeah I love the NFL and NBA draft but even tho baseball is my favorite sport, the IRL MLB draft does very little for my interest. And that's because 99% of NBA and NFL draftees have a chance at playing in the NBA or NFL. MLB draftees, not so much. I'm much more interested in the drafted players once the get in the minors and start putting some distance between themselves regarding player development. When they're in high school or college, the fact they use metal bats is just a total turnoff for me.T-BONE.

Re: MLB The Show Survey....Serious Things Being Discussed
While I agree with many of the items on the list, far and away the biggest priority for me is having a Steam/PC version. I stopped buying consoles with PS4, so my gaming is just PC and Steam Deck. I would love to have a better baseball option than Super Mega Baseball or emulating older games.Comment

It's not about popular. It's about making franchise closer to what happens in MLB.≡Comment

Re: MLB The Show Survey....Serious Things Being Discussed
That's because it takes longer to develop the skills need to play at the MLB level. Doesn't change the fact that the draft needs the previously needed improvements. That's why between the amateur draft and international signings each franchise brings in 50 or 60 new players every year. Vast majority will not make it.

Got my survey done...
I feel like my position in this community is somewhat unique as I'm more interested in the on-the-field element of Franchise than the front office (I have OOTP for that, primarily), but some of the stuff like winter meetings and the trade deadline could be engaging even to me if done right. I feel like what they did with offseason free agency this year was a good template - while it is simplified it just feels a lot more engaging to have to hone in on a few specific targets - and know that the CPU teams have to do the same. I believe that's what they meant to "gamify" it, and I do think the FA system they came up with is a step in the right direction (though having the old contract system during the reg. season is just strange).
And of course, I'm pro-anything that makes the in-game league more accurate to the current MLB/CBA, like international signings, expanded rosters, etc..
Even tossed in a bone for the Y2Y save folks here, even though I personally feel like that might have stagnated franchise development for a certain period of time (or at least contributed to it).
I'm not sure if the survey expires on the 4th or if that's just the deadline for getting a pack reward (big whoop), but in case it is a hard deadline anyone else who got the survey might want to get it filled out soon.Comment

y2y at least was correctly programmed and allowed people to continue the franchise.≡Comment

My biggest want has been, and very much will be for the return of Y2Y saves, but if the trade off is to leave it out while we flesh out franchise mode with some of the other things mentioned in the survey and atop many of franchise player's wishlists, then I'm happy to wait on its return.Last edited by countryboy; 04-03-2025, 10:58 AM.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB The Show Survey....Serious Things Being Discussed
Y2Y saves absolutely a culprit in the stagnant of franchise over the 6 years of having the feature. There's a reason why we didn't see the improvements/rebuilds (draft, free agency, etc) during its 6-year existence, like we have in the 5 years since it was removed.

That doesn't help the Y2Y franchise guys, but at least all the great retro rosters wouldn't have to be rebuilt over and over and over again. And the CAPs could be preserved (for the pathetic content thieves)

Re: MLB The Show Survey....Serious Things Being Discussed
I personally don't see a valid reason why roster files wouldn't port, with the exception of versions where player ratings were added.

It wouldn't be so bad if the content they added since was good but it hasn't been. They replaced a functioning part of the game with poor content.≡Comment
