Re: so I played my first game with CPU comeback set to ON
Yes, I lost a 4-2 game where the CPU came back late. The difference is this comeback felt authentic, compared to the WTF artificial comebacks I was previously seeing with the Handicap turned off.
The toggle is under Game Options / Global and only accessible in-game. Once you turn the Handicap on, it's saved to your settings.Comment

Re: so I played my first game with CPU comeback set to ON
Which means that (assuming it works as it says), a batter as the tying run still has the handicap working for him. But once that batter becomes a runner, off it goes.
I posted a game earlier in this thread that had this scenario play out to a T.Last edited by bcruise; 03-23-2009, 03:30 PM.Comment

Re: so I played my first game with CPU comeback set to ON
sup Jcern..glad you're liking the ON option. And yes the cpu will comeback on you. I had a 3-0 lead in my game just now and ended up getting blown out 10-4.....got one run back in the 9th.Wow I have to laugh after playing my first game with comeback on. I say laugh because the difference was so evident it actually is quite funny. I was beating the Indians 5-2 thinking wow wheres that inning. Which is always either the inning right after I take the lead or at least coming soon. Well they did score a run in the 8th and the 9th but the difference was not that I closed it out and won 5-4 because Ive done that before in quite a few of the first 100 games Ive played. The difference was that not every hitter had the pop and plate coverage of Vlad Guerrero. I'm so excited and thanks again Dave, I just wish I wouldnt have wasted so much time trying to convince myself everything was alright before.
My only question is will the CPU occasionally comeback with it on? I'm pretty sure they will as they started to in this game and don't seem to lose their normal attributes but just wanted to know what you guys that have played a few games with it on are seeing.
Everything is natural now....perfect games just like how it should be.
i've now :
won 9-1 ,won 5-4, won 3-1
lost 4-0, 5-1 7-2 and lost 10-3Comment

Re: so I played my first game with CPU comeback set to ON
So both you and Davewins have played 100 games? Sheeze, I wish I had that kind of time.
Anyway, I played another game on All-Star with comeback ON and here is how the scoring went:
3-0
3-4
3-7
5-7 Final
How did it feel? Well, I was cruising hitting my spots with Kelvim Escobar until I went up 3-0, then things fell apart. After Boston took the lead 7-3 all of a sudden I was back to cruising and getting strike outs in bunches. Only a few games in thus far but I'm pretty convinced comeback ON works as it's supposed on All-Star level (is not reversed.)Comment

Re: so I played my first game with CPU comeback set to ON
Cool yeh like I said I wasnt worried about it but just wanted to make sure from some people who have seen it happen. I still don't think I can make the playoffs yet on Legend but with that crap I didn't have a chance.they will definatly comeback sometimes man
i blew a 2-0 lead to the halos in the bottom of the 8th with b.ziegler to end 6-2!!
ive also blew a 3-0 lead to the m`s in the top of the 7th to 5-3
but like u said above, what it all felt was natural, i was pitching bad and such... it didnt seem taht sundunly k.johjima turned into vlad guerrero...
so its definatly possible...Comment

Yeh when I get rolling and think I have this game playing the way I want I play alot to the point my fingers and hands hurt. Thats sad I know haha. So your convinced this just a legend thing. Thats interesting I have never played all star but thats cool for the people who could just open the game and play then. Although, it might just be much more evident on Legend and only something you see rarely on All Star.Comment

Re: so I played my first game with CPU comeback set to ON
I have read almost this entire thread, and I'm about to go give this a shot. I've had games where the CPU has comeback and it didn't feel right, like I would throw a BS pitch in the dirt, and it would somehow end up at the letters and subsequently in the seats, despite hitting the accuracy meter perfectly. I will report back with the results later on.Comment

Re: so I played my first game with CPU comeback set to ON
I'm not 100% satisfied with it off although overall I love the game. My problem is there are too many close games with mid-range scores. I want to see more high scores, low scores and blow-outs so I can put in my junk pitchers and rest starters or take a look at my up & coming prospects. It seems whenever I get a good lead the opposing team is fighting for it's life like it's trying to win game 7 of the World Series.
Like another poster said (I think Billy?) - the CPU seems to mirror your performance. When his batting average went up over 10 games so did the CPU's. When his ERA was low over 10 games so was the CPU's. I want to see more variety and what posters here are telling me is that they are seeing it with comeback on. Unforunately I'm just not seeing it.
With that said I am bouncing around alot on different levels and have been testing different things - just trying to feel things out before the season is underway so I can nail down my settings so I am open to anything.Comment

Re: so I played my first game with CPU comeback set to ON
You are very welcome although I'm just the guy that happened to test this first. Baa7 is the one that put it in my mind that it could possibly be reversed. If it wasn't for him I would never of tested this but I'm pretty much 100% sure somebody would of in the near future.Wow I have to laugh after playing my first game with comeback on. I'm glad you are enjoying the game with this setting ON. I have seen comebacks still but they are definetley more realistic for both sides. Enjoy.

Re: so I played my first game with CPU comeback set to ON
Yes that is the description but I am not completley convinced that it plays that way because I have won games that I feel as though I got very lucky on. In fact that was the main reason I even tried this in the first place. I feel as though it is for both the CPU and HUMAN for whatever it's worth.Actually there's a separate option for the CPU (which applies to 1-player games) and one for 2P (which applies to multiplayer games). Based on the descriptions there is no effect on the user in a 1-player vs. CPU game.
Since you can't check it at the moment, screenshots on the way....Comment
