Re: Someone Please Save This Game For Me

Here is what you, and everyone who is having trouble needs to do. Play with the sliders and change levels until you get the game how you like it.

Here is what I did, and I will also post my stategy. I am finally getting the game to where it is perfect for me. Now I have to battle back from a 6-14 (now 8-14) record.

I dropped to Veteran. I played mostly on All-Star and some Hall of Fame near the end of last year (I stopped playing early for reasons I don't know last year as I loved the game, life gets in the way sometimes). I also was having trouble with timing. I didn't want to change pitch speed just in case I ended up playing online, so I have jacked the timing slider all the way up. I have slowed the OF down a bit. I was still having trouble hitting, but pitching was great. So I have moved my hitting sliders up a bit. I get a great variety of games and it is still a challenge to win.

As for the "comeback" issue that the OP has. The biggest thing I see in your description is that you say you pitch to cold zones. I am a left handed hitter and my cold zone would be down and away and up and in, but even if you are Randy Johnson in his prime, if you keep throwing pitches in those spots, I will go yard on you. Mix it up, throw to a hot zone once in a while, brush a guy back every now and then. Throw the odd hanging curve ball, throw a high change once in a while. Pitch like you would in real life. There are going to be comebacks, but this will reduce them to realistic numbers.

I know sometimes I'll be in the 8th inning of a 3-1 game and the lead off guy will go 10 pitches and the double down teh line. It creeps into my head that the comeback is on, but then I just remember to mix things up and "get in the hitters head" and it is so rewarding when the next guy hits into the 6-4-3 DP.

Learn how to play it or go ahead and trade your copy in for the other baseball option you have. Then you can complain in that section of this forum. ENJOY!!!

Have we saved the game yet for the OP?

i have to say i havent seen any of this "comeback" thing ...matter of fact i won games in the botton on the 9th and never had the CPu done the same to me, and i am under .500 on this game playing on veteran still.

if i have a problem is getting too many hits and dont score runs and having as many hr´s as i have doubles!!

Also, at least on veteran i would love to see more walks from the cpu. i swing too much outside the zone but even P with low bb/9 ratings dont throw too many strikes!

Your point was that they care if you sell your game.

Come on. When I was in the video game industry, all I cared about was my job, and making a good game (most of us do/did have a passion for that). You can only control so much, just like in your job. Sure you want the game to sell well, but you're acting like devs sit around fretting about whether people trade their games in or not. Fact is, there are a lot of people that tire of games no matter how good they are, and trade them in anyway. Then people that don't have the game buy the used ones since their cheaper.

You're entitled to your opinion of course, but I disagree.

This comeback nonsense is just people that don't know how to play, when to replace their pitchers, etc. How about dropping down a level?
Cracks me up when people complain about how hard it is to hit when they are playing on Legend. I don't play on Legend anymore. The game is just plain harder. Like I said before, swallow your pride, drop a level, and learn how to manage a game and pitch, lol.

No doubt. I have my hands full at the Allstar level. I can hit pretty good, but my Reds bullpen sucks. It's great to have a baseball game that's not too easy. I'm addicted.

i do agree about the second part though..if people thinks its too hard to hit or picth on a certain level i agree they should drop it...said that, the comeback thing has nothing to do with that for me.
