Weather...
Is there any info about the weather conditions that are going to be included in the game this year? I know that in previous versions, they have sunny, partly cloudy, and overcast. But there was never any real precipitation while playing games.
So i guess what I'm asking is that if in this game will there be games played in light snow early in the season and possibly late in the postseason in the farther north states, and mainly games periodically played in the rain, since games are not always rained out.Comment

no rain or snow.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: ARGUE
That is one little thing I don't like. I have been thrown out of a game for arguing a call in RTTS. I wish we had some control over the argument since it can effect our points we can earn in a game.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: Weather...
I would like to see weather implemented next year as well. However, if the frame rate suffers because of it, forget it. I'll live without it."Don't be afraid to go to number 23, he's alright."Comment

Re: Weather...
As realistic as I think adding light rain would be to this game, overall I think its pretty much pointless since baseball only gets played in dry conditions for the most part. It's not like you'd see puddles on the ground or anything anyways because thats not how the MLB handles rain.
I think the devs could have added it by now if they wanted, but I'm sure they'd rather put the resources into more useful and interesting things than light rain. Personally if they're gonna change features to the visuals, i'd rather them put in a more realistic grass that has some depth to it rather than the somewhat "carpet" look the grass has now at the feet of the playersComment

However, this isn't something that can just be added in one year. As we've seen with everything that SCEA does, if it isn't done to the highest of quality, they won't do it at all. So I'm sure that weather is slowly being implemented. Why do I say this? Well, they've added in progressive lighting and cloud movements which weather effects would need. They've also included wind and temerature for the games which are needed for weather. We probably won't see the weather impacting the games for another couple of years as SCEA will need to fully work on the scheduling for each team in order to work doubleheaders in there, and will also have to make sure that the computer AI is good enough to know when to take a starter out due to the length of the rain/snow delay.
Rain delays and effects have been in baseball games before. World Series Baseball on the Sega Saturn included rain shortened games, and I believe rain outs as well. It was great.Comment

Re: ARGUE
I agree. I think arguing should be something player controlled. If you choose to argue against an umpire with a quick trigger, then you run the risk of being tossed from the game. If you argue appropriately, you can get the calls more in your favor. If you argue too much, then you get ignored and ejected/fined. I think that would be great if it was user controlled.Comment

Re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
I kinda like the idea behind controlling the arguing much better than no control at all but really it doesnt have any effect other than getting tossed out or something. I wouldnt want to see it benefit me since youre not allowed to argue calls..technically. I dont like the current system now where its a cut scene and I have zero control..If I want to be a guy that takes his lumps I dont want to be kicked out of a game because a cut scene thought I should.Comment

Re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
In real life, if players aren't liking the calls of the umpires, they will generally say something to them. Those players who argue respectfully and not all that often tend to get calls their way the next time a close one happens. So it happens all the time in real life where arguing with an umpire will benefit the person arguing. There just comes a point where the player argues too much or too emotionally and it gets them tossed.Comment
