Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I got to the trade deadline and there were 9 total trades in the MLB by that point...
8 by the CPU teams and 1 by me...
The dissapointing thing isn't the frequency, it's the fact that most of the deals were for guys that they really didn't need, so most of them ended up on the "trade waiver" list as soon as the trade period ended...
Overall, not THAT bad tho, IMHO...Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Has anyone tried to disable trades for the first season, then enable them for the second season and so on?. That way, if the plethora of 1 year contracts is the true issue, all the contracts will be renewed (with considerably less 1-year deals) and maybe the logic will be better...#1 Rule of Sliders: Realism is RelativeComment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I'm looking to add a glove in the outfield and a true leadoff hitter at the same time. I have Upton in right and Conor Jackson is doing really well this season but his place in left still isn't guaranteed.
Players I'm willing to move:
Chris Snyder, Chris Young, Augie Ojeda, Brandon Allen (A pot.), Ian Kennedy, Rodrigo Lopez, Billy BUckner, and possibly Kelly Johnson.
Any suggestions?Last edited by joepa2624; 05-13-2010, 07:33 PM.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
So i just hit July and teams are determined to be playoff push or not. What that means for me is that I could probably dump Jack Cust on some team that needs a little more power and thus pick up some prospects or younger players that might be off the radar. Inversely, the teams not in playoff push may have some veterans that I might be able to steal using the copious amount of arms I have in my system. So I need some advice on either one. I figure there are tons of people on here that know their team's system far better than I do. So here are the playoff push teams:
Twins
White Sox
Rays
Yankees
Red Sox
Padres
Dodgers
Brewers
Cubs
Phillies
Nationals
Mariners (but I won't trade with them or the Angels or the Rangers for that matter)
Also, I could probably get Carlos Pena straight up for Ben Sheets, but I can't decide if I should pull the trigger on that one. I should have the money to re-sign him, but Sheets is a beast for me and if I can't re-sign him I would get a couple draft picks for losing him. I plan on making a play for Pena in the off season either way. It might be easier if he is already on my team. What do you guys think?Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I don't know, maybe try to get Adam Lind, but it will take probably more.
Seth Smith is also a good lefty bat, I don't know his fielding ingame. But IRL I would say he is about average and wouldn't be too hard to acquire.
Crawford?
Garrett Jones?
Or some cheap alternatives like Swisher or David MurphyComment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Really cheap would be Ryan Sweeney or Travis Buck. You won't have any power with them though. On this game, outfielders don't need great defense. In fact, if you have a player with a decent amount of speed to cover ground then you will be alright no matter how bad their defense is. Another good option would be Rick Ankiel. Last year he was a monster at the plate on top of being able to gun down anyone at the plate from deep in center. I don't know how much they dropped his ratings, but he might be worth a look. Could get him cheap too if KC is out of the playoffs (and why wouldn't they be?)Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I'm thinking about trying to make a trade for a SS. Lopez is horrible on defense, and Ryan just doesn't work for me. Plus the mustache looks ridiculous on him. I don't have very many trade trips, mainly Ryan and a few minor league pitchers. I want someone who can hit at least .260, and is solid defensively. I would also be open to a utility guy who can play SS. Any ideas on who I could get without having to give up a ton?Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I have Cliff Pennington at SS and Adam Rosales for my utility guy. Pennington has been surprisingly good for me at the plate, batting .280+ with 4 home runs and is a switch hitter. His defense has been less than great though. Rosales started out really hot, but has dwindled quite a bit and is even worse on defense. A's have Grant Green in their system (if using OS Rosters), so you might be able to pick up Pennington on the cheap. I can't remember if he is a C or B potential, but he is young and should get better both at the plate and especially on defense.Comment
