Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread
This is my most enjoyable SHOW yet. Player models are VERY well done, stadiums are beautiful, analog controls are implemented well, fielding is tougher than I ever remember and the lighting is incredible. After 5 games I have seen things that I have never seen in prior SHOW's. One was just last game where I hit a rocket to right field on a bright sunny day and the RF never picked up the ball and it fllew right over his head.
SCEA you have once again delivered another fantastic baseball game. I greatly appreciate the effort that your team puts in every year to deliver such a fantastic product.STEAM PROFILE: STEAM_0:1:39676753Comment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread
yeah,
they need to implement guess pitch, stealing, base running, and soem kind of pci placement to really nail the move feature for a normal game.
and i think there was no way they had enough time, especially with developing the new analogue controls this year.
so basically i dont think it was them stripping features to save for 12, i really think they went all out to include any move support they could manage this year, and next they will focus on it more. it would definitely make me buy one anyway if they implement it perfectly.
SCEA can pretty much do no wrong anywayComment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread
the HUD is there for people using the guess pitch feature. if you are guessing the pitch, wouldn't you want to know which button corresponds to the pitch you are trying to guess? just because "x" is fastball for 95% of the guess, for some it is their sinker/cutter/whatever. and the secondary pitches can be all different too.
that being said, if "guess pitch" is turned off (how I play myself) it would be kinda nice for that HUD to disappear...especially since you can see all the pitches and their average speeds in the pitcher/batter pause screenComment

I have the Ticker on, but don't see it. Is that because I'm still in Spring Training?Comment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread
1.I am hitting using timing. Sometimes the PCI is nowhere near where the ball was pitched. Is this based on the hitter's ability?
2. Can any team in this game win, or do you really need to use a good team to have a chance? I was going to use the Twins, but they're terrible in this game. Seems odd that their defense is rated so low, considering they had some of the fewest errors of any team last year?Comment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread
Move support is a joke. If you guys weren't willing to do it right. Why even bother? It's tacked on.
Other than that. I'm pleased with this years game. The practice mode improvements are a huge step in the right direction. Gonna be a while before I touch franchise mode. I'm tweaking my sliders right now so that I can begin my RTTS.Comment
