Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

The first time I really delved into RTTS was in 09. I played every game for 4 seasons, and finally got the call to The Show. I hit a bomb on the first pitch I saw in the majors, had a great 3 months and then the RTTS Crash killed my file and I was so annoyed/devastated I didn't play the game ever again.

Skipped out on MLB 10, so I'm really looking forward to my career this year.

Just played the best game this year in my SP career. Started against Mat Latos of the Padres. Our team jumped ahead 2-0 in first inning and became a pitchers duel from there out. Game finished same score. I pitched complete shutout game, and only allowed one hit, while trucking out 9. While its awesome pitching so well, kinda pissed Andres Torres got that hit off me to screw up my perfect game. O well

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

I was selected to the Futures and the Southern League All-Star games in my first season of AA in the Orioles organization. Right after those games I was called up to AAA. In my first month in AAA I've had two game winning hits to become a fan favorite. I'm batting right at .300 over my first month. I'm a little bummed at a move the front office has made though. I'm a CF so I'm already in a tough spot with Adam Jones in Baltimore, but he went down to a long injury and now the club has traded for a new young top talent for CF. That puts me at 3rd in the organization now for CF. Bryce Harper was traded to the organization, so he's second in line at RF. Both the LF players are on one year contracts, so maybe a move over there will happen for me in the future. My first talk to my manager about moving to LF didn't go so well, I'll bug him again next month.

they should automatically be in your training points, if their not call scea customer support to see what they say.

I have a problem with RTTS baserunning. Ex- I'll be on 2nd and the ball is hit in the outfield but I can't see if it's a pop fly or a hit so I just gotta guess. An most of time I guess wrong. Help!

I don't buy points, but I've seen this question before.

Where did you buy the ponits from? To get them to attach to your player, you should be buying them from the dollar bill on the little menu at the bottom of the screen from within your RTTS career. I'm not sure where they go if you buy them straight from the main menu.

Press select to access that little menu.

From what I've gathered, yes. Make sure you have your RTTS loaded and you're at the RTTS menu. I'm not sure where your other points you bought go. Maybe they are added to the next new one you create?

Finished up the 2nd year with my RTTS third baseman. I definitely was called up too early, since I struggled in my 2 months with the Reds. I did manage to keep my BA over .250, but I struck out too much and saw almost no playing time past September. You definitely want to save up some training points, because I was unable to keep training in all areas like I did in the minors. Failed the advancement goals twice, and I'm really glad training resets in spring training cause I was like 5-6 weeks in all training areas.

I got offered a 4 year 1.3 million deal as a AAA starter by the Reds, but I turned it down. I got renewed on a 1 year 540,000 deal as a bench player. I've got a chance to make starting 3B in the spring, but I'm going to watch my playing time and role this year. If I end up not seeing playing time for a month like I did last year, Trade City here we come!

Try using L2 to change the camera view while the ball is in play. Just use the controller buttons to tell your player what base to go to. See if you like that method better, I do.

Good news after the Royals decided I should never get a start and only use me as a PH, they traded me to the Pirates. I am a utility player now, but I need to get sent down. I'm not ready, hitting under .200 guess I'll just stick it out. But a demotion would be welcomed. They are gonna hurt my psyche and I might get the yips.

Found out a good way to get good points while bunting-the sacrifice bunt. You get credited with a good at-bat, it doesn't count as an official at-bat, and you'll get 12 points for it (4 times what you get for a successful bunt hit).

I'm brand new to The Show (and baseball games in general). I'm _really_ trying to stick with the new analog controls, but am finding hitting incredibly difficult. I'm on Rookie (since I'm a noob) and after 50 ABs, I have a BA of 1.18. I really want to stick it out as I know analog will be worth it, but it can be so painful .

I'm not sure how much of this is also due to my player just starting out as well. My scouting report has me with all Ds and Fs (except Potential which is an A). After I hit a ball, clicking L3 shows that I usually make good contact now, so that's an improvement. Is there something I should be focusing on stat wise to get my guy up? (Like how important is vision, discipline, etc.; or are those only relevant for simming)

I'm using Catcher 6 but have tried Wide Offset camera as well. Luckily, my strikeouts aren't bad, but I find myself almost always get a poor at-bat . Trying my best to lay-off pitches. Essentially, I'm trying to go from "swing at strikes" to "swing at the ideal ball" kind of thing. But sometimes it's so hard to lay off a strike right down the middle on the first ball. Then I inevitably have a ground out and a poor at-bat .

                            Any thoughts/suggestions/encouragement would be appreciated.

BTW, was a long-time 360 guy. Finally bought a PS3 _because_ of The Show, so it feels great to finally be playing it .

Plate Vision lets you makes it easier to make contact, even on pitches out of the strike zone. Plate Discipline makes it easier to check your swings and is a factor in increasing walks. I generally seek to increase all the ratings equally.

What does it take to get called up from AA lol. Im on my second player in RttS now. I have a CP who is 5 years in playing for Philly at the MLB level i moved pretty quickly through the system despite Philly somehow landing Paplebon and Soria (trade system = broke) Now im playing 1B with the Astros and in AA I've played 10 games as the starter through 20 games of the season and this is my line:

                                10 G - 40 AB - .600 AVG - 24 H - 11 R - 9 2B - 5 HR - 22 RBI - .591 OBP

How on earth am i still playing AA ball?? Im on All Star difficulty and cant seem to NOT hit everything in site.
