Re: Franchise Issues
Franchise for me is broken. There is no work around and ill explain why. Last year you were able to sign younger players to ten yr deals. This year, it is very difficult to get them to agree to a long term contract, which is much more realistic, but also means the players want more money per year. Therefore, I am unable to go through each team and lock young players into long contracts, resulting in them being overpayed. The only way around this for me has been 30 team control with the budgets off.. which I refuse to play. I also agree with hitman, hate to be negative nancy, but this went a whole year without being patched last year. Maybe this is is just something they have not figured out yet? Would appreciate being told that instead of being misled and losing out on 60 dollars. Last year I shared the optimism of everyone, thinking this would quickly be resolved. This year... not so much.Last edited by lukeduke5; 03-09-2011, 11:56 AM.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
I'm guessing Kolbe and Jeffs fixes on this missed the build somehow and nobody caught it.
Kolbe probably thought it was in...and didn't look back(his testing wasn't "in game" but on his PC that runs the game)....
This was a fix and not an actual addition.
My guess is...just overlooked somehow.(ish happens...)
Holding back on my freak out!

Re: Franchise Issues
Maybe it can be fixed but when will we have to wait a month for correction on a mistake? I don't know but I would like to doesn't Sony make the game so they should pass a patch fairly quickly right?Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
Guys:
While Russell stated this can be fixed, we still should be concerned. This bug was there last year with MLB 10 The Show. Was it ever fixed? No! That's why I believe all the members here voicing their concerns is definitely warranted.
Heck, I'm one of those myself. I'm not a coder but for them to state it wasn't there months ago & then it be there upon release tells me there wasn't sufficient testing of the game.
Franchise mode is probably the biggest mode of play used by gamers. That & RTTS are the top 2. I don't play RTTS so I'm left with franchise mode. One thing I will say is this game blows the MLB 2K series totally off the map. Why they even make that crappy game is beyond me. Especially for the PS3. I can see it on the 360 since it's the only baseball game made for that system.
I'm just hoping Russell was right in this can be fixed. You still have to be skeptical though because it wasn't with last years game. If this is the only major bug in franchise mode then great. Let's get it patched and all of us true franchise guys can be happy. I hope Russell or Kolbe can chime in to let us know something soon. Thanks guys!NCAA- GO VOLS
NBA- GO CELTICS
MLB- GO BRAVES
NFL- GO COWBOYS
NHL- GO PREDATORS
NASCAR- Chase Elliott
MLS- LA Galaxy
RIP Pat Summitt: We will all miss you!

The one thing the show needs to do better in is REGRESSION. if people retired properly , or a higher percentage of players were bad, teams would need these serviceable vetsComment

Re: Franchise Issues
I agree with this. You see it all the time in real life that a guy goes from being a stud to gone or vice versa. This could be tricky to implement, as I am sure some people would be upset that they trade for a "stud" and then he fails to deliver. But it would sure make everything "franchise" more realistic. You might think twice about that blockbuster trade. I think Kolbe has plans to redo things like this for next years version.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
That's not a franchise mode franchise is singular no body runs more than 1 team that would be like commissioner mode and then we would have to do collective bargaining and the such I don't want that control it would be just a crutch like 30 team which I never intended on using but it's the "workaround"Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
Glitch? Hardly, its the only way I can get all the teams under cap. You think I enjoy going through every team and having to offer hundreds of contracts? No, in fact, I really dislike it. That post you made was beyond stupidity. Without going any further into that and without knowing jack about game development, wouldn't the reasonable solution just be to increase the budges each year? I'm finding that almost all the teams run into cap issues. Why not just raise each teams budget increase percentage at the end of each year. Couldn't this be easily done through a patch without too much recoding?Last edited by lukeduke5; 03-09-2011, 03:09 PM.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
Under cap? They started off last year well under their budgets. the cpu will keep players under budget, that's not the glitch.
I don't think you have or played the game... but since you called my post beyond stupid you're banned.Comment
