Also, is there anything I can change or adjust to make the manager take me out earlier? If I'm completely gassed and barely get through the 7th, why in god's name am I being sent out in the 8th to give up a couple extra-base hits, a couple runs, and THEN get pulled. It's idiotic.

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Well I have had a bad time with my RTTS player. Got drafted by the Twins. played a full year in AA (half of it on the bench) Batted .450 25 HR's and around 70 RBI. Got called up to AAA where I came of the bench for most of the year Batted around .430 had 26 HR's and around 80 RBI. Was second in the league in Homers despite only having 170 at bats. So into my third year I get sent down back to AAHave no Idea why I am the best player on the team.

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
to add on to the post above, i have a lefty closer with the cardinals that has all of a sudden taken a turn for the worst. he got called up to the majors in his 2nd season, sent down to AAA around the all star break. made the MLB team out of spring training, struggled to a 9-something ERA, 2+ WHIP and barely any strikeouts.
so i got sent down to AAA where i just couldn't get an out to save my life. got sent down to AA 2 weeks later, now i get to start the climb to the show again. he's still on the 40 man though so he just has to get it done to make it back. will be interesting though since the cardinals have 3 other closers that are just as good if not better than my guy.Cardinals

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
So I just made a new closer and im failing goals left and right because I never play.. Thru one achievment goal period I recorded 1 IP when a goal was set for 2.2 innings pitched.. Glitch? Or do I need to upgrade a stat or something? Really confused because were winning gamesComment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Made an 18 year old RHP (6'5 230lb) who got drafted by the Rays. Started 4 games in AA going 1-0 with a 2.13 ERA with 20 k's through 25.1 innings. Got called up to AAA made a few starts and got traded to the innings where I am now in their bullpen, working pretty much in long relief situations. So at the end of May I've made 10 appearances here is the stat line: 24ip, 25k, 22h, 3bb, 5r, 5er. Ive got 2 holds and 1 save which was of the 3 inning variety. Im hoping to break into the starting rotation sometime before the all-star break. Anyone think im looking at a call-up to the majors late in the season as a 19 year old?Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
this is one of the unfortunate parts of being a closer. your team will only use you in a save situation, which means if there isn't a save to be had, they're not going to use you. it's not a glitch the closer is just only used in save situations, sucks but it is what it is.Comment

I wish I could of stayed down awhile longer, its hard to get points being a closer. Everything I earned went right to my goals and sometimes even that wasnt enough. Being a closer is definitely a challenge and for me, its very fun. As soon as someone gets on base, pressures on. You need to get that batter out or your losing your job. Every BS so far has come from me entering a game with men already on base. Every points I get from here on are going to K/9, 2SFB movement, and Clutch. I got promoted to AAA July 20th.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
I put a ton of training points into my 2B to get him up to 99 power and contact and being on a slump is so frustrating when you're used to smashing the ball all over the yard. I just started the 2016 season and I'm hitting .450 through about 15 or so games which is great, but I've been up to the plate 44 times and I have 6 RBI's and no home runs. Absolutely terrible for me and I can't explain it, I just suck this season. 14 Hits, 5 Runs, 5 ER, 0 HR, 6BB, 12 K, 1.43 WHIP
Well it didnt go as good as I would have liked. The lack of control really hurt me. I really could of had a lot more walks, I started off with so many 3-0 counts it wasnt even funny, which led me to throw the ball down the middle more than I'd like. It seems like AAA batters swing and miss a lot more which is nice. I had a lot of earned runs that were from me being taken out, and the other pitcher getting them to score which I didn't like. Whats been a killer so far is the outfielders feel they need to dive for everything and they end up missing a lot of singles that turn into triples. The MLB team Padres ended the season with the worst record in the majors going 59-103, Huston Street saving 39 of them.

One day into the offseason I get an offer from the Padres, 1 year $93,000 to be the AAA closer, and I countered for 1 year $100,000 and they accepted.
