So I don't think it is an age thing or even a goals thing at least not entirely. I really think there is some unknown calculation behind the scenes that helps determine when and if you get the call. But that is my two cents. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

500 Training Points mystery bonus???
1 day left before the end a goal period, and I had 0 points. After a save with my CP, I got 70 points. Went to training screen and all the sudden I had 570 points? I think this is the second time this has happened.. Twice at most, with a Closer.
Anybody else experience this? I'd love to know how to trigger that bonus routinely! Thanks for helping out, I'll help if I can. Have a good day :)

In my first year I made it to the Show as a September call-up. I hit .313 5 homeruns 29 RBI and 31 stolen bases after about 3 months of being in AAA. Still looking for my first major league hit.

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
I have a CF/2B that got drafted by Tampa, I'm a BoSox fan, but didn't mind the draft because I have tremendous respect for their organization....anyways... im batting .231 with 7 rbis, 7 doubles, 3 triples (leading league), and 0 HR or BB. Still in May. My first set of goals were cake, passed them in a week and a half. My next set was to hit 1 hr and get walked twice. I cant seem to get either one of these (warning track power and too many backwards Ks trying to take pitches to get walked). I was batting .390 until this set of goals.
Also, i got benched for getting caught in a hit n run where the batter didnt hit the ball and i was called out...not happy about thatComment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Nearing the end of my first season with my 1B/3B power hitter using the original SCEA rosters..I've been trying to up his fielding and throwing skills like crazy so I can move over to 3B because I'm getting bored with just running to cover first haha...anyways..
he was drafted by Miami and spent most of the season in AA, then I was traded in the beginning of July to the White Sox for Scott Podsednik...got called up to AAA near the end of July and then in mid-way through August the White Sox were clearly out of the playoff race so they called a few players up to the Show including my guy...after destroying AA (.419, 24HRs), did just ok in limited AAA action..but he is having a tough time in the Show...so far he's only batting about .196 with 2HRs but no K's so I think the hits will start falling in there and I'll see some much better numbers.
Also just started another guy, with the OFSM rosters, a 5'10" 190lb SS, he was drafted by the Yankees and is tearing up AA ball with a .330+ avg and 12 RBIs about halfway through April...my only issue is he keeps getting moved down to the 7/8 spot in the order and Im just like WTF...he's an RBI machine...anyways RTTS this year is really keeping my attentionComment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
So I started my LF/3B prospect. This game is a troll. I'm this close to being done. I've adjusted the sliders for a week now and nothing I hit gets past a fielder's glove. Over my first year (.251 AVG, OPS barely over .600) I hit about 20 booming shots to the wall, about 40 line drives into the gap, all of which either had an outfielder gently jog at 50 mph under them or just went directly at a fielder or just had an infielder stand for a second and then walk over and catch them. I ended up with 3 HRs, but turned out in the top 20 in doubles at least, so there's that.
Am I doing something wrong? I've tried TNK's sliders, my own sliders, and this game keeps trolling me. With all my stats over 50 in AA you would think more than 3 home runs would be possible but every damn time I get a hold of one it rockets to the outfield and then drops like a rock at the track or right at the wall. Someone gimme some motivation, I'm seeing the same thing in my second year.Last edited by ChernoTheInferno; 04-19-2012, 11:55 PM.Comment
