Not really sure what I'm gonna do at third yet. Just picked up Rasmus do I might move Prado to third till I find that diamond in the ruff, then trade off Rasmus. Not sure what imma due at 2nd either after uggla. I'm also on the pastronicky wagon lol
Yea I know I have to wait for him to come off the DL to trade him. If anything it might be a move to a WS contender as the trade deadline near.

The main reason I want to trade Uggla is that he is being paid a lot (3rd highest paid 2nd baseman) and only produced a WAR of 2.2 last year which was below average (12 qualifying 2B on fangraphs had a higher WAR than him). So he might be good in game, but he is bugging me in real life so I want to trade him.

I am on the Bethancourt bandwagon as well as the Pastornicky bandwagon. Since you are on the Pastornicky bandwagon you could look at moving Simmons to 2B to take over for Uggla.

Like the Rasmus pickup btw as it gives a quick fix in LF and allows Prado to backup multiple spots (absolutely love his versatility).

Yea looks like we're pretty much doing the same thing. I might trade off Hudson at the deadline to a contender. I have thought about running Simmons and pastronicky up the middle. And yea bourn is slumping bad right now so I wanted to bring Rasmus in to help pick up bourns slack. Then once he's back and chipper is gone I can move Prado to third. But yea like you said. Rasmus is just a quick fix till I can find my new stud for the hot corner. I also love prado's versatility

At the very MOST two C's, or a C and serviceable MLB catcher, like a Jose Molina. Edit: this was meant for the guy looking to trade olivio.

Playing on my BoSox franchise. While surveying trade possibilities around the league, the hated Yankees always seem to give me the best realistic trade deals. Is it too unrealistic if I traded with them? Despite being in the same division and the best rivalry in all of sports. Obviously Im trying to play my franchise realistically, so what do you think?

I really don't think they would trade that much, and if they did the asking price would be way higher for the player(s) that is coveted by the one side than if you looked at it from a neutral perspective (as if the player(s) were on different teams that you didn't know).

I think ill just stay away from trading with them. I researched their trades together and they have only traded with each other about 20 times in the past hundred years, and none in the past 15.

Good call. I know for myself I won't be trading within division at all. What exactly are you looking for and who are you willing to trade?

Well, I'd much rather move Bard back to the setup role, and I thought Ivan Nova would be a great replacement. He would be cheap to pry from the Yankees, and young enough to develop some more. Id basically trade any prospect I have, so it shouldnt be very difficult to get someone.

That's horribly backwards. The Pastor translates more as a major league 2B than a SS. He has to put a TON of effort into throwing the ball to first, he has to load his whole body up. His relatively weak arm translates on the game too. Simmons however has a CANNON, and projects to be a Gold Glove caliber SS. Keep in mind he was recruited by most teams as a pitcher with a 96 MPH fastball.

So even if you are on the Pastor bandwagon you should still move him to 2nd instead of Simmons. You would be losing out alot by having Simmon's arm at 2nd while Pastor's arm (or lack there of) is sitting at short.

There are quite a bit young good starting pitchers out there that you wouldn't have to pay an arm and a leg for because they belond to your rival/division.

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Okay. First week of May guys so I know it's premature.

Jeter will be out 2-3 months. I have Eduardo Nunez and Ramiro Pena platooning at SS right now but I would love an "if it were the real Yankees" perspective.

Jeter essentially would be back around the time the non-waiver trade deadline passes. So my question:

Should I stick with Nunez/Pena for now, and go FA hunting or trade hunting around the earliest mid-late June? Or would the Yanks go FA hunting immediately for a long injury like this?

Or any other possibilty I'm missing?

I need a stop-gap, so we'll see how those two do. But what is realistic in a situation like this for NYY?

Good to know. I wasn't sure how they were rated in game as I have yet to get my copy yet. Also I don't know too much about the Braves farm system (bad fan I am ) but getting this game and doing an in depth franchise has helped me learn more about people as I go so thanks for the information.

Jose Reyes has been a bum all season leading off and hitting in general. I want to trade him, but i really like his speed and defense. So i'm looking for a replacement shortstop and maybe another MLB player or two. I like Asdrubal Cabrera, Yunel Escobar, Erik Aybar, Elvis Andrus, Derek Jeter, and Omar Vizquel(for late game defense)

idc about realism I just care if it's a fair trade.

I'm playing as the Rangers and would really like to add Lincium. What will it take with out making it some off the wall trade?

Not too familiar with their system but I'd say something along the lines of Kinsler, Perez & Olt/Martin.
