Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Since I'm pretty new to the game, I've decided to sim the season, and to play only the GM role, so that I can get used to all the different technicalities. Which has nothing to do with why I'm posting this, just mentioning so you know why I'm already so far in the season.

So my Nationals are currently leading the NL East, with a 44-38 record, 2.5 above Atlanta, 3.0 above Philadelphia and Miami. Didn't make any trades yet, so it's the Nationals you all know. I just lost Espinosa for 2 months, and was looking to replace him, since Lombardozzi is struggling (.196, 0 HR, 3 RBI in 56 AB). Rendon and Kobernus and both on cold streak right now in the minors, so I can't really bring anyone up.

The player I'm targetting right now is Marco Scutaro, of the Rockies, who are currently in rebuilding stage, 6.0 games behind in NL West. The middle of my line-up is doing well, but I'm having a hard time finding someone to fill the first two spot. Bernadina right now is my best option there, with .353 OBP, 4HR and 11 SB. But both Espinosa and Desmond have been struggling so far.

What would be a fair price for Scutaro ? Or do you see a better option ?

    Thanks

The more we talk of Greinke and Hamels the more I have determined that they are one in the same, neither is a bad option for the Yanks. Also I think the Phillies would take a deal with a bounty of quality prospects as opposed to a deal with 2 or 3 top prospects. I think a package of Betances, Phelps, Adams, Nunez, and Culver would be valued as much or more than a package of Banuelos, Bentances, and a player like Nunez or Adams.

Phillies would defintely take Betances and Banuelos if u ever packaged them together over your first suggestion
        Steelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | Liverpool

Nunez doesn't have much value make it Betances, Bichette/Culver, Sanchez/Williams

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Hey guys... I'm in my second year of my Red Sox franchise. My first year was pretty leisure... made some small moves. I'm pretty realistic so i kept the roster pretty standard even kept Youk in there so Middlebrooks could get some more seasoning. I lost Ellsbury in the offseason... i felt i didn't have the cap space to make that move. I tried to pick up BJ Upton as a free agent but he decided to go else where... anyways onto my trade that im looking for.

I traded Youk for a 2 Bs. I felt that is pretty fair.

I also traded Beckett back to his Hometown of Texas for a Reliever and an A prospect. I know he sucks now but he was a sub 2.5 ERA and only had 2 years left on his contract. Also it was while the Rangers were in the hunt. They wanted/needed him.

              What I'm looking for advice:

I need a center fielder. Right now im in May of year 2. I'm spotting up Crawford in left - Byrd in Center and I traded for Venable in the offseason, So he is in right.
              Byrd SUCKs. I'll give up a pitcher (prospect (B)) and/or Iglesias/Bogaerts.
I want a great center field. If im giving up and A and a B i would like something excellent in return. I'm not opposed to dealing Buchholz either.

Thanks for my long winded question.

EDIT: What's the cost for McCutchen? Sizemore? or Gutierrez?

Trying to bring back the winning ways of the Boston Red Sox.

It should be a long tired road considering the fans/media I have to deal with.

The primary reason I've hated Morse sense his days on the M's... only then, he didn't even have the bat.

No one specifically.. Is Morrow a B potential? he pitched pretty good vs me. If theres any other young guy with A potential, I'd be willing to chime in an A potential guy, but I realize I probably don't have enough for it. Just want A guy that K's a bunch of people and throws 95+ pretty consistently.

To Totte, out of that list I pitch pretty well with Garza but I dont really want him to much. I traded for Norris in my last chise with the Twins when I had a .5 game lead at the deadline.. It ended up being a mistake haha just can't get his stuff down. Nolasco is interesting, but hes a little older and isn't too much of a difference maker. How much would he cost? Anymore suggestions?

Here's the way i look at it.

I'm realistic too a point but I'm realistic to the game too.

Beckett who had a 2.41 ERA with a Whip of about 1. He was having a great year. Why should i give him up for 2 Cs... because he sucks in real life. Yeah I'm not going to get Bryce Harper and Stras but I thought an old Reliever and an A prospect was fair. Es[ecially to Texas who was looking to for a starter for a playoff push.

Same goes with Youk. He finished the year batting .315 with 28 HR and 91 RBIs. That's a damn good year. Again i didn't go get Brett Jackson for him. I got 2 decent Bs.

Thats fine, I get what your saying. Youkilis had to do more with his age than his performance.

good point... maybe i should of only went with one B prospect for Youk. And i almost went with 2 As and a B for McCutchen... but i like the 2 Bs and 1 A better.

On a side note i don't know if I want to waste 3 solid prospects for a center fielder considering i have one on his way from the minors.

Gutierrez is 30 years old... hes excellent. I'm thinking a B and a C maybe or 2 Bs? Seattle is trying to get younger so they should go for it. Plus Gutierrez will get me by for a couple years - 3 max.

I'm telling you dude Morrow struck out 10.19 per 9 last year second in the MLB, dude is a stud he doesn't walk many either, its just he can't figure it out sometimes which leads to him struggling. You can get him for 3 B's.

No they didn't.......I am a die hard Red Sox fan, he is their #1 prospect and he definitely was not offered up

I listen to Sports Talk radio daily while I'm working - trust me.....Middlebrooks was not offered up and has been the 3B of the future for a couple years......he was never offered in trade talks

Now - of course they would trade him for another young stud like Harper or Trout, etc.

Other teams may have asked for him and been denied.....but the Red Sox were not looking to trade Middlebrooks
