Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I don't want to spoil it(as I know you are following) but I have so many top prospects, that it didn't really affect me! We got a top SS prospect(which we had no one at) and we gave up a 3rd and 2nd base prospects that we have better options at. On the OSFM rosters I'm using, Rincon isn't far behind Gyroko(actually hitting stats are pretty much identical, and he's 2 years younger), and we got a 18 yo 3B prospect in the draft who has A pot., and he has high floor right now. We got another A pot. prospect in draft, a 22 yo CF who has great contact, bunt and speed numbers. Tate moved up to an A pot, so we have our new draft pick, Maybin, and Matt Joyce in outfield. I put 2B/SS as Tate's secondary positions, so he can play OF, or infield. We got Mike Minor(who moved up to an A pot) and Wade Davis in rotation. We have Arodys Vizcaino at closer, and we have Boxerger(who moved up to an A pot.) as our setup man.Comment

As you can see, we didn't need those prospects, and we got an ace for our staff. To top it off, he's extended for the next 4-5 years at only 700K a year! It would've taken a ton more to resign all of those prospects, and they werent even our best prospects. I know it's hard to let them go, but it makes the team better now and in the future, but also gives those players an opportunity to start and play, something they wouldn't have had here.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
the trade is fair, I'm looking at it more as an organizational deal.
we have a ton of pitching depth and talent in the minors (Kelly, Wieland, Ross, Sampson, Erlin, Portillo to name a few) where pitching would not be a top priority (BumG). Panik is a good SS prospect but in an organization where we need hitters we are dealing Gyorko (great bat and moved to 2B, shown lots of power and ability to hit), Liriano (#1 prospect, potential 5 tool stud), maybe Spangenberg (I don't know the whole details of the trade, another great bat, solid contact, built for Petco). We don't go out and sign anybody and we need to develop the minor league talent that we have. I'm not high on Bum as is but I just don't think this would be a good deal for the organization.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
What would it take for Mike Aviles? Also what would it take for Brandon Inge? I need a good bench player that could be a starter. My current starter at 2B is Carlos Guillen, so I coul duse a new starter. I CAN move Headley to 2B, so if there is a 3B option FHA is better, please let me know. Right now, the only two players on my bench are Will Venable and Chris Denorfia(I think the other player is Denorfia). Both are good bench players, but both are outfielders. I have a surplus of pitching on MLB level, so I will probably move a couple down. I like Infe, because he can play C and the whole IF. He hits OK, but is a great fielder. I'm looking for mainly cheap, but good players in this/these deals, because I gave up a lot to get Bumgarner! Thanks ahead for the input that will be given!

Hey guys need some advice, I'm the Mets, my catchers have been awful! Josh thole has a average of .175. I've already traded for jeff Mathis as a back up but now need a top level starting catcher to replace thole! Who do you reckon and what would I need to give away?Covers at

Miguel Olivo or Kurt Suzuki?
Olivo would probably cost one C and Suzuki two C'sFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Definitely if they're trailing by that much. Either way they'd have Montero and Jaso left on the roster so parting with Olivo wouldn't hurt them.
He's got a solid arm and nice pop in the bat so he should fit in nicely as a stopgap for you. Try and see if you can get him for one C prospect. If not, I'd consider going two lesser C's for him.
How's Oakland doing if you were to take a look at Kurt Suzuki?Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.
