That is nice to hear. Its still a bit weird that the player can even throw the ball anywhere near the bag with the animation they give it in game. Its sometimes like a little flick or a jupshot.

Not only just weaker, but that sort of throw should be more inaccurate in general...

Also nice to hear. I hope all this theory comes together when we get our hands on the game and put a years worth of hours into it.

But still based on attributes right? Of course Brendan Ryan is the exception, but he does the "Jeter" quite a bit and his throws are always strong and accurate. I know some people mentioned the lack of disparity between ace pitchers and #4-#5's, but what about elite defenders vs the rest? Are the ratings more spread out this year?

Well, unfortunately I didn't put in as much time on button accuracy as Nem and theSlab to be very useful here myself. but I think the nice thing about the interface is the blend of attribute and user input (to varying extent all user interfaces are, but more so for an interface like button accuracy). I remember seeing Nem and Ramone were tuning the difficulty though... I think it will keep improving based on feedback.

I really wanted to make a strong case about attributes having more dynamic impact on player performance in general, but unfortunately my time with Brian@SCEA was very limited and could only show him a tiny fraction of data that I brought to the CD event. I talked to him about pitch edit thing though.

No, I actually meant it is how it's supposed to be. Not necessarily in the game right now. I don't really know how much that improved, since I didn't make any Jeter plays at the event. Nem & Ramone might know... they were always playing and tuning stuff.

Sorry... I think I just confused you guys. I guess now that I've attended CD, I have to clearly differentiate my opinion and how the game is right now...

I'm thinking you were thinking exactly what I was thinking. I think... I wasn't sure if that sweet spot moved around out of the middle or not. Thanks!

Did you guys get to see if Dickey has his correct KnuckleBall? That'd be amazing if he had the one he throws in real life in the game ;D

When I checked the editor, Knuckler goes 80 mph (0) to 60 mph (99 velocity rating). The way the editor works, the range might move with the speeds of the rest of the pitches though... (well it does for other pitches, but I'm not certain there was an exception for knuckler...)

When I tried, I think he was throwing knucklers mostly in high 70s.

HELL YES! RA is not a Met anymore and I won't be using him.. But just for the pure joy of the realism.. This is GREAT news. Sould make him more dominant for those who use him.

And as you are on.. Did you use our Mets? And are they Hard to enjoy using..? Any new batting stances you can remember for them? I'm hoping Wright and Davis got updates. Did you see Harvey at all? Thanks got all the help and answers! Means a lot. I read these threads all day, poking around for any new tidbits.

These should go to visuals threads... with loads of stuff to check out, there simply isn't enough time to go thorough details about individual players... sorry. It is pure kindness of guys like thaSLAB and Knight going through items one by one, ensuring each question gets answered, that makes those feedback threads are possible. I saw this in my eyes and it is daunting work, all the while they work on (what could be more) pressing issues right before the game gets locked.... there are only less than four days there..... so please don't take their effort granted.

However, those visual inaccuracies can be corrected pretty much throughout the season by contacting Lorne@SCEA, which I encourage you do if you find the roster updates unsatisfying... he works on them. I felt weird when I saw Lincecum without the signature hipster long hair, and I told Lorne about it... and that's when I learned he cut his hair... a sort of news you won't be aware unless you follow gossips... and he was right on! How hard are you working to follow gossips, just to reflect it on a baseball game. But they know many of you guys care stuff to that much detail, and doing the work for you.

I meant batting stances not looks;D for Harvey I was referring to looks as he's new and a exciting young stud I'll be using a lot. But I get what you're saying. Where should I ask these questions? In the Franchise thread? Thanks.

I have some pretty big hands, and my immediate concern is that I am going to have trouble commanding the type of throw I want.

Did you guys have any problems with accidentally throwing throws with too much or too little power?
I did not have any issues adjusting power, the mechanic does not have a steep learning curve imo. The biggest problem I had was thinking i was using analog when I was using button accuracy, lol.

I only used the Broadcast camera for hitting and fielding. But yes, ball physics directly correlate with the various input of factors within the game; not some glorified cutscene that can change depending on which view you use.

Ball physics are ball physics. This is how the ball will always move, whether you play the game, watch the game or manage the game.

The differential in the code has been changed and could possibly be changed even further. This I'm sure of so expect an improvement. But whether or not this will have the impact we hope for is still yet to be seen. 4 days is really not enough for me to know for certain.
