Well sadly after typing my message 30 mins ago with my positive results i fired up the ps3 today and first game in my RTTS had pitching stutter on some pitches.

Arghh, seeing more posts with successfully alleviating the stutter gave me some hope that the whole rebuild database stuff might actually help. If it does it seems like its very temporary.

I find that if you save your game and exit into xmb then load the game agian it will stop for a bit. Just a temp fix. Still not sure why any devs haven't commented. Wait until tomorrow to see the s-storm this will create.

or it will be fixed because the game can't properly connect to the servers. #earlyreleaseproblems

This is the hope, but I thought people have posted that the problem persists if disconnected.

Games not even supposed to be out yet. I'm sure in due time we will here something in regards to this. The guys over at SCEA will fix it if it can be fixed because that's how they roll

I never had the problem with the media server connection....it was always with the online connection enabled.
This is how it looks for the info for the game(shutting off the ticker info probably won't cut it..with the twitter and universal profile feeds now)(and this is all just guessing)

I don't know if you guys remember when something was up with PSN a couple of years ago and the game would hang for minutes on the opening screen......disconnecting from the internet(and shutting off wireless for me) did the trick.

I'll be a perfect test subject when I get the game.
I have a less than ideal internet connection and it can be spotty(shutting off for a few seconds) sometimes.

That's what I mean, shouldn't turning off your PS3's internet connection do the trick? Completely cutting it off from the internet. I would be really weird if to get rid of the stutter you'd have to always be connected to the servers and they would have to be running in return.

Nobody knows right now...
But for '11 and '12....that would do it for me.(fixing it)
I didn't leave it off though and I would really only see the stutter/stops in the menus...not in game.
I'm only thinking now that the game has twitter feeds(I'm pretty sure they update real time)...that now it looks for more info in game.
I'm just thinking out loud.

Maybe i don't see it as much as others but I havent noticed much stuttering or any at all when hitting or fielding. I should point out that i did have an issue with stuttering on occasion with MLB 10 but I have changed my HDD to a 7300 RPM drive and havent had issues since then. Not saying that is the solution but do the people who are experiencing stuttering in their game have a stock HDD that came with their PS3. I could be completely wrong but am curious.

Isn't it possible there will be a release day patch/fix to resolve this issue? After last years similar problem they could be aware of it no?

Turned off all of the PS3's network settings & got two stutters when the ball leaves the SP's hand...

I'm gunna play the stuffing out of this game today & document every stutter. Hope to find some consistency... Which inning, pitch counts, road games, ahead, etc...

Again, only twice a game... Not a game killer by any means.
