Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I like Taillon for Story, though. It helps me in a year or two at a position of need. I don't do well with RHP FB-CB types and have a lot of depth at SP so I can easily let him go. COL always needs pitchers but they prefer sliders as well so I'm still not sure...G3no, you out there? I was thinking of keeping Taillon in case I'm a buyer though as well. Unlike Amaro, I like to plan ahead.
I'm probably not the guy to ask about minor leaguer for minor leaguer deals, but it definitely makes sense for both sides.Denver Broncos

You are the guy to ask about the Rox though. I don't know how much they value Rutledge/LeMahieu the way it has been going this year, maybe a move for Story to 2B is in order? If they are satisfied with those guys, it would make sense but would COL do it straight up or would they want more since Taillon doesn't have a slider as far as I know?Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Is Brantly really that good? Nah, he hits like JPA but without the power. Defense is still projectable. I know he is thought of highly in Miami, though. Arb is really important to them but so are prospects. Find a live arm to throw in and I wouldn't feel bad about it.Comment

I think the Rockies have been fairly happy with LeMahieu. He's got a great glove and a solid contact hitter. Rutledge could still be in the future but he definitely needs some more development.
I think the Rockies would jump all over getting Taillon. He's only 21 and can throw in the upper 90's. They like the groundball pitchers but with Taillon's raw skills, I think it would be dumb of them to pass up a deal like that.
From my rosters it would be an A pot for A pot swap. I don't think you would need to throw any more into the deal. The Rockies would be getting a great deal with it just straight up in my opinion.Denver Broncos

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
If the Cardinals were out of it and punting the year by playing their rookies (Wong at 2nd, Taveras in CF, etc), and Yadi was playing well (164 wRC+, but only a .313 OBP and .200 ISO), would they consider dealing him realistically? As you guys can see I know absolutely nothing about realism in the NL
Neither Yadi or Luc are going anywhere, no matter how bad the teams would be. The Brewers could realistically trade Maldy though.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

I would say the most realistic option is Brantly just because Brantly really isn't THAT good right now. But JPA wouldn't really have any value to them to sway them from trading BrantlyComment

I can think of Ramon Hernandez as being attainable for cheap and early if realism is a faactor for you. Like, here, you take him cheap.

The Rockies will always be looking to improve their cache of pitchers, especially power pitchers like Taillon.
Story is a nice prospect, but appears blocked for the next few years behind Arenado and Tulowitzki. He could move to 2B, but they seem pretty high on Rutledge/Le Mahieu.
I'd say it's a fair deal straight up, and it benefits both parties. I know prospect/prospect swaps are rare, but this is one I could see happening IRL if it were to be offered.
Just my two cents on the situation.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I just don't see Brantly as a realistic target at all. They just got him in-season last year and he's not arb eligible until 2016. I'm not really sure why people like that one. If he's not expensive or about to be, the Marlins have no reason to trade their starting catcher unless it's to package salary with him. You'd have a better time getting Mathis.
Personally, I like the middle deal best.
If you are going for 100% realism which I think you are. I think you should toss out the Lucroy deal to be on the safe side. I think you should also do the same with the Brantly deal.
Why?
No way Yadier gets traded.
Figured.
Alex Avila.. maybe.
He's pretty popular as a trade target with the real life Jays, but I dunno if I want to give up Casey.
I think you should look into:
Kurt Suzuki - depending on how well the Nationals are doing, I think this would be a realistic option.
Ew. He's hitting like .202 lol.
AJ Ellis - This seems like it could work. It wouldn't surprise me for the Dodgers to pull a deal off that would get them a somewhat big name catcher with power. Maybe you could even get a Mark Ellis, Punto, or Schumaker out of the deal to play 2B for you.
I thought of this! He's actually injured for the forseeable future which SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS.
I think Jason Castro isn't too far out of the question.
He's my 3rd option, yeah.
Not sure about this one, but Ryan Hannigan? Depending on stats/standings I think it could work and JP could rake in Cinci.
He's sucking, Mes is sucking, but they're leading the division so I dunno. This is my 4th option."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Scrapped the Diamondbacks trade in my Rays Franchise, and am now shifting my attention to Gentry of the Rangers (.288 avg in limited ABs, .344 obp - Leonys now starts in CF). Have a couple different options I am looking at:
(1) Shipping Jake McGee (A/93 overall: MLB: 73.1 IP, 66 Ks, 2.58 ERA, .208 avg)
for Gentry + a young, toolsy player.
(2) Gentry has a tag of two high Cs in the spreadsheet, and I would be comfortable in shipping a combination (2) of the following:
Felipe Rivero - SP, Andrew Toles - CF, Nick Sawyer - RP, Parker Markel - SP, Jeff Ames - SP, Tyler Goeddel - 3B
These are just the prospects I would like to give up, but I would give up a better one if needed. Any help is highly appreciated.Last edited by Coper3000; 06-23-2013, 09:42 AM.Comment

Totally agree here. Save McGee for now if you're looking at him as your closer next year like you mentioned in a previous post. Maybe deal him by the deadline if you can get a good haul from a desperate teamFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Was thinking of picking up a lefty reliever. How about Jake McGee for A.J. Jimenez? I'm the Jays.Comment
