Convince your wife?? I'm confused. Is she the one that works? Do you not have a job? If she is the breadwinner and you take care of the kids, I can understand but if you make your own money, you can buy whatever you damn well please. As long as you aren't in money trouble and can afford it, having to ask permission or convincing your wife to buy something you want with YOUR money makes no sense.

I'm guessing you're either: A) not married or B) not happily married. Lol. You don't just spend money as you damn well please when you're married. If you do, you have a lot more than I do. Props for that if so. There are many more important things in the world than a new PS4.

As far as the topic goes, I'm still on the fence this year. I'm seriously thinking of getting a Vita and going that route this year. If we have some extra money, we might get a PS4 at some point. I'm thinking Vita as of now though.

Boggles my mind why people care so much what others do with their used games.

And to answer your question, and it's always the same answer, craigslist/ebay can be a pain in the ***. Gamestop is in-out no hassle.

To answer your question its not because I care but its great to know theres other options because Gamestop is a ripoff on getting the true value on your used game as they then sell it for triple

Hint Hint you will never get your true value on anything when you have to use a middle man and thats true in all aspects of your financial life also .

Gamestop offers a service, no one is forcing anyone to trade in games to Gamestop.

People already gave you their reasoning and do not feel they are getting ripped off. Some people value their time more than others. If they chose convenience over maximizing value, that is their choice and no one is getting ripped off.

Lol, for the first time in my life this is starting to come in to play for me.

I want a PS4 soooo bad for The Show, but I'm getting married later this year, and I don't think I can sneak that kind of purchase past her at this point.

Not that it would normally be an issue, as she supports my video gaming habits, but we still have thousands of dollars in wedding expenses to pay off, and apparently a photographer and catering are a little more important than a PS4.

And to be fair to future Mrs. Jgainsey, I'd probably be pissed if she up and dropped $500 on a luxury item right now too... Unless she also wanted a PS4... But if she were that perfect, I probably would've married her sooner. :wink:

Oh buddy I've been married 28 years. Marriage is a Sacrifice. I bought my son the XB1 for Christmas. I want a PS4 really bad but if I buy that before a new washer and host of other things I'd be sleeping in the shed. Take the safe route (and the backseat) and be patient for the PS4. Congrats on the nuptials.

Was planning on getting the show for ps3. But after taxes, I had a change of heart and I'm gonna go buy a ps4 and get the show when it comes out. I'll play 13 until then.

That's why you marry a gamer girl. I haven't paid for The Show in years. Every spring my wife buys it for me. This year she said if I could wait till May she will buy me a PS4 and The Show for my birthday. Of course she wants Tomb Raider and Infamous so its all good.

Lol @ the marriage discussion. I'm a 15-year veteran of the marriage game, and I've learned to clear any purchase above $100 with my wife, unless it's a clear necessity or dire emergency. For most people, video game systems don't fit under those categories .

I'm really debating about whether to purchase the PS3 version of the game, or whether to just keep playing '13 until I can afford to upgrade to the PS4 and enjoy the game's full features and graphical improvements.

While we make decent money, it's getting harder and harder to bite the bullet and buy a $400-$500 system, especially with school-aged children, who are money pits.
