You never answered my question. You are a GROWN *** ADULT. If you make your own money, you can buy whatever you DAMN WELL PLEASE as long as little junior and your wife have the basic things taken care of and don't have to resort to dancing on the street corner for nickels. I know money is the number one thing couples fight about so a PS4 and a game that will come to like $500 is not a small purchase but if you can afford to do it, she shouldn't have to be asked or convinced. Is she your companion or parent?

Wow...for your sake I hope you're not married or plan to be married in the near future. That poor woman. When you get married, even if you're the sole bread winner in the family, it's not YOUR money. It's your families money. Any large purchase is to be discussed.

On topic however, I was planning on getting the PS4 (Went Xbone to start) when MLB came out, but now I'm thinking of holding off a year. I'll just go PS3 this go around. Especially after playing FIFA on the 360 and now the Xbone...it just wasn't worth it. There were some slight advantages, but nothing that wowed me. I'll give Sony a year and then make the jump.

Lol @ the marriage discussion. I'm a 15-year veteran of the marriage game, and I've learned to clear any purchase above $100 with my wife, unless it's a clear necessity or dire emergency. For most people, video game systems don't fit under those categories .

I'm really debating about whether to purchase the PS3 version of the game, or whether to just keep playing '13 until I can afford to upgrade to the PS4 and enjoy the game's full features and graphical improvements.

While we make decent money, it's getting harder and harder to bite the bullet and buy a $400-$500 system, especially with school-aged children, who are money pits.

Exactly same boat as you. Although my only child is a toddler still.

I'll get the PS3 version this year because I love playing Diamond Dynasty, and want the updated version this year.

Just so you know, I heard FIFA was MUCH better on PS4 than X1 for some reason (and having FIFA for PS4 i can say it's insane), but I still see your point.

I hadn't heard that. I'm guessing graphically? Can't imagine game play is much different between the two.

In fact Madden was way worse gameplay wise on the XB1 than the 360 imo. That alone makes we wary making first initial jump next gen sports games. I'll wait til next year.

The 1st thing my Dad told me when I got married was to remember, that what hers is hers, and whats yours his hers, and if I remember that I would be good to go I was kind of a slow learner, so it took a practice marriage before I got it right, although my wife would probably say I still dont have it right

Such a decision but I think I'm in the same boat of staying PS3 and getting PS4 next year. I'm always a bit concerned with the first year of a game on the new console. Granted, they've probably been working on designing with the PS4 for a while, it still has me apprehensive.

I said earlier that I was going to stay with the PS3 this year but I caved in and bought the new console and pre-ordered the PS4 version of MLBTS. Now the long wait begins. I understand why they are delaying the release.

Yes it will work across all the platforms….PS3 to PS4…to Vita as well.

You started an interesting thread topic, that got over 20 pages of responses thus far, I don't think we should close it just because you got a PS4.

No offense, but it's not a thread to track your hesitation on whether to get a PS4, it's relevant to everyone who might be pondering the questions:

1. Do I buy a PS4 now just for the next gen Show
2. If I have a PS4 and PS3, do I want to wait until an unspecified date in May for the PS4 version
3. If I have both, do I trust that the first next-gen version will be as solid and bug-free as the well established current gen version

I think the thread should stay open regardless of your purchase or decision, and congrats on the new PS4!

I'll be skipping the ps3 version this year picking up a PS4 closer to the release, unless they come up with some kind of upgrade deal then I'll go ahead and pick it up.

Right now my plan is to buy a ps4 just for the show but that may be subject to change. I may just stick with the ps3 one more year.

Your right , glad I started this topic and it has started a good discussion. I didn't really think it was going to be more than a couple of replies to be honest

If I didn't promise to give my ps3 to my nephew I would have kept it just to get the show earlier
