Kinda of topic but I figured this would be a good place to ask since you guys have run alot of tests.

Does controlling all other rosters manually somehow disable real time scoreboards in franchise mode?

I've ran some test franchises and sometimes their working, other times their not.
Is this a bug or is there a corelation to the roster control?

what a mess this has become. not worth the 60 bucks. im selling my game to a buddy and playing 09. we are in the year 2010 and its getting worst. simple things like linueps were never a issue. bad job sony.

Not insulting you, but thats pretty silly to give up on 10 JUST because of this minor lineup issue. And for the record, this lineup issue has been a problem since I first started playing MLB The Show '08, so its not like its a new occurrence. The game is absolutely worth $60, and in many areas is far better than the '09 version. Why anyone would opt to go back is crazy to me...

Next year SCEA, could you guys PLEASE test the roster out before you release the game? Love this game but it has been a main problem with the game since 08.

LINEUPS with latest Official Update?

I know everyones having problems with lineups with total minors but has anyone tested using a different roster? does the same thing happen?

I don't think so because my brother started his franchise when in first came out and there were no radical changes to his lineups.

not true, does not matter what roster file you use. CPU will adjust lineups

maybe the rosters need to be done from default rosters all the editing etc...or maybe the 4/02 one maybe sony fix the issues with that update.

I was wrong about this the lineup still changes no matter what roster is used.

What about editing the lineups and rosters before we even start a franchise or does it half to be done once a franchise is made after spring training?


Because I noticed in the full minors roster everything was not as accurate as the team would have liked and so maybe if the rosters had the above average correct players and the lineups done correctly they might not be so incorrect?

I have a question.

How big is a franchise save file? Would it be possible for one of us to start a franchise with the rosters (30 team control), sim through ST, set all 25-man rosters manually, and then save the franchise file and post it here as a "quick start" franchise file of sorts that other people can use as a starting point for their franchises?

Yeah, it can be pretty confusing, but it's basically this:

1. During Spring Training, there are 40 guys at the MLB Level
2. Once you advance to the Regular Season, the CPU automatically trims down these rosters to 25
3. For some reason, this process of the CPU trimming the MLB rosters down from 40 to 25 is causing all the lineups to be reordered, even if Manual Lineup Control is ON. Doesn't matter if you are controlling 1 team or 30, any Manually Controlled Lineup will still be reordered.

There are two fixes to choose from, both of which require 30-team control and are quite tedious:

1. Before advancing the the Regular Season, go through each team and set their MLB 25-man roster manually. Only 25 players can be at the MLB Level; everyone else needs to be sent to either AAA, AA, or A. You can still have 40 guys on the "40-man roster" (the "40-man" column that has "yes" or "no" next to each player), but you can only have 25 at the MLB Level.Y OR
2. Advance to the Regular Season and allow the CPU to set the MLB 25-man rosters automatically. Before playing any games, go in and adjust each lineup manually.

So for these fixes, you have to pick your poison:

For option 1, you have to trim down every MLB roster to 25, but the lineups will remain in the correct order when you advance to the Regular Season.

For option 2, you don't need to worry about the 25-man roster, but you have to fix all 4 lineups for every team (which also requires fixing some players playing in the wrong position, btw).

I personally prefer option 1.

Season / Franchise Regular season roster help

I downloaded the Knight and friends OS Full rosters last night. Thank you guys by the way. I then started my season. First thing I did was sim the spring training. To my surprise, once I started the regular season I noticed that all the rosters, lineups, and rotations these guys put so much time in had been reordered.

I thought I had set everything to manual control. Did I miss an option that would keep rosters, lineups, and rotations the same once the regular season started or is there just no way around this in season mode?

I could have simply missed the option but I thought I'd check with you guys first to see if this wa even possible.
