Yeah, it can be pretty confusing, but it's basically this:

1. During Spring Training, there are 40 guys at the MLB Level
2. Once you advance to the Regular Season, the CPU automatically trims down these rosters to 25
3. For some reason, this process of the CPU trimming the MLB rosters down from 40 to 25 is causing all the lineups to be reordered, even if Manual Lineup Control is ON. Doesn't matter if you are controlling 1 team or 30, any Manually Controlled Lineup will still be reordered.

There are two fixes to choose from, both of which require 30-team control and are quite tedious:

1. Before advancing the the Regular Season, go through each team and set their MLB 25-man roster manually. Only 25 players can be at the MLB Level; everyone else needs to be sent to either AAA, AA, or A. You can still have 40 guys on the "40-man roster" (the "40-man" column that has "yes" or "no" next to each player), but you can only have 25 at the MLB Level.Y OR
2. Advance to the Regular Season and allow the CPU to set the MLB 25-man rosters automatically. Before playing any games, go in and adjust each lineup manually.

So for these fixes, you have to pick your poison:

For option 1, you have to trim down every MLB roster to 25, but the lineups will remain in the correct order when you advance to the Regular Season.

For option 2, you don't need to worry about the 25-man roster, but you have to fix all 4 lineups for every team (which also requires fixing some players playing in the wrong position, btw).

I personally prefer option 1.

That's a strange bug if my team is perfect but the rest are screwed up. So if I drop all the right players on other teams from 40 man to 25 man roster will their lineups get set properly then or do I have to tweak the lineups too? WHy would it just work right for your team and not all of them.

Right, if you handle the other teams the same way you handled your own then they should all be fine going into the season.

And as much as some people want to claim so, this isn't a bug - it's simply the AI doing its lineup re-evaluation which, as has been said before, cannot read names, only stats and ratings. I would guess that needing to modify the 25-man leads directly to roster conflicts, which is why the AI needs that re-evaluation. If you take a guy off the 25 man, who gets his spot in the lineup? The AI has to determine that, and in the process re-evaluates the whole thing.

i apologize if this has been asked, any possibility that someone could upload a tweaked roster that won't be effected by this issue? Meaning if someone put in the work already, does everyone still have to do it? or could they upload their changes for everyone to enjoy?

What you'd actually need is for someone to post a Season/Franchise file saved just after Spring Training, with all the lineups intact. That would probably be the best solution for the masses, although 30 team control with manual lineups is still a requirement (lineups to auto would throw all of them out of whack again). Note that does NOT mean you have to control the front office for all 30 teams - that can still be handled by the AI. Also, this would be a one season fix - it would probably rear its head again when 2011 rolls around.

But for those wanting to play a single season, it could work.

Kinda of topic but I figured this would be a good place to ask since you guys have run alot of tests.

Does controlling all other rosters manually somehow disable real time scoreboards in franchise mode?

I've ran some test franchises and sometimes their working, other times their not.
Is this a bug or is there a corelation to the roster control?

In order to get the full out-of-town scoreboards and score updates in your game, you need to sim every other game that day before playing yours.

I'm a real loser and drape a blanket over the left side of my TV so I don't see the logo of the winning team each time I sim a game in the "View Today's Games" list . My wife just shakes her head

What you'd actually need is for someone to post a Season/Franchise file saved just after Spring Training, with all the lineups intact. That would probably be the best solution for the masses, although 30 team control with manual lineups is still a requirement (lineups to auto would throw all of them out of whack again). Note that does NOT mean you have to control the front office for all 30 teams - that can still be handled by the AI. Also, this would be a one season fix - it would probably rear its head again when 2011 rolls around.

But for those wanting to play a single season, it could work.

Hmmm... great idea! Obviously you can't save Franchise files over Sports Connect, but you should be able to upload a Franchise file and post a link for everyone, right?

Its really a lot of work to get it right and the last thing i wanted to use was 30 team control.

Frankly im on the verge of saying "stuff it" and letting the CPU do what it wants to do and ill just look after my own team.

That's how I Play and it sure is grrreaatttt! No worries if Rollins is batting 6th. I could care less tbh. It really is enjoyable when you don't care about such things.

I am going to go with option #1 and was wondering do I send the players down on say April 4th the day before Opening day or Before or after ST starts/end? How do I send the injured to the DL? I tried and could not find an option?

I am only playing Season and not Franchise. Thanks in advance

Not sure if I'm completely answering your question, but....

You can sim to the last day of ST if you'd like. Just don't advance to the Regular Season until you finished trimming rosters down to 25.

I'd also recommend turning injuries off through ST. I found that lineups will get screwed up (even with the 25 man roster fix) if someone in the originally set lineup isn't on the 25-man roster. What a mess

You can sim to the last day of ST if you'd like. Just don't advance to the Regular Season until you finished trimming rosters down to 25.

I'd also recommend turning injuries off through ST. I found that lineups will get screwed up (even with the 25 man roster fix) if someone in the originally set lineup isn't on the 25-man roster. What a mess

I would turn injuries off during spring if you are trying to get accurate rosters
