Man I'm not sure what to tell you. Obviously you can lower their solid hits or raise your control or something, but I'm seeing a very decent variation on this side (see all of the box scores as an indication).

I felt like playing a St. Louis Cardinals vs. Erie SeaWolves game (I was the Cardinals), and I won 13 - 0, throwing a 3 hit shutout with Adam Wainwright (though I also walked two). He also threw 11 strikeouts. They just couldn't hit him. It shows that it's just the caliber of the team is rocking you, because obviously this team isn't that great. There's a nice discrepancy between good teams and bad teams, good pitchers and bad pitchers.

And Braves Fan, different sliders won't change the hitter's aggressiveness out of the zone. The game is just so that they don't swing at too many pitches out of the zone, nor do they put the first pitch in play very often (unless you leave it over the middle).

I hope something works out for you, dubplate. I would host videos for you on how I play my games, but I don't have a capture card or anything.

Keep the exact same Blzer sliders, but notch it down to Veteran and see how it plays out.

Re: Blzer's All-Star Sliders and Settings

I lowered the foul ball slider one notch and it helped a little. I won the game 4-3, 12 hits to 11. I was the Rangers vs the Blue Jays. I gt rocked in the last series vs the Royals which is why it seemed wrong to me. I guess I'm just not pitching properly. I use API and call off the catcher if he gets predictable, but I notice that the CPU doesn't swing at many pitches outside of the zone, nor do I get close calls on 2 strike pitches. That seems to be my biggest gripe at the moment. It just feels like if the CPU wants a hit, it'll get a hit.

LOL well to be fair I have my sliders set the way they are to correspond with my settings, so if anything is changed it may skew results (API included). May want to consider turning it off.

I'll try that and let you know how I do.

Why would you say that Blzer? Isnt there a slider for the CPU that mentions discipline, and if so wouldnt that dictate how patient they are at the plate? I think its in the description for contact but I could be wrong but I do know that when I raised the CPU's contact to 6 they were suddenly able to hold off on damn near everything that wasnt over the plate, when I lowered it back down to default I struck out 11 with Kershaw in a complete game shutout of the Diamondbacks. Now Im sure there are other variables to consider but the differences when messing with the CPU's contact slider made me a believer that strikeouts and patience for the CPU are all tied into that slider.

Actually, you're on point with that, I forgot. My bad.

At any rate, I believe I have their contact at 3 or 4, so I suppose you can lower it at the expense of, well, getting them to be near missing all the time at the plate.

Yeah, with it that low I would think that there wouldnt be any problems but maybe its a combination of that and something else he is doing that is causing this problem? I just know that I have it at default and Im striking a guy out at about one per inning right now, except with Randy Wolf who has 2 strikeouts in 11-12 innings or so. There is nothing better then getting 2 strikes on a guy with Kershaw and then throwing the heat out of the zone to punch them out and if that doesnt work to then turn around and buckle them with a curve in the zone to catch them looking.

Hit a ton of homers in Cleveland, that 4-2 win might be the best game I've played so far with this game and Blzer's sliders. Only 15 hits between the two teams, 1 HR apiece, and some awesome relief work. Just played Detroit in KC and simmed after 5 innings when the opposite field doubles started plating runs for the Tigers. It's 2-1 me and all of a sudden I'm throwing low and in to Maggs and he hits a double the other way and I get peeved and toss the controller, my wife says grow up, I tell her that I'm trying to establish the inside corner and the CPU is screwing me, so I try it again, Sheffield low inside slider - opposite field double, start button, fast forward, end of game, save, power off, calm down (hopefully), and try it again tomorrow.

Anyone else have any feedback because I'm about to walk away from this game. I can't get a good feel for the pitching and it seems like there are sometimes in the game where I sense the computer isn't going to let me get out of the inning with the lead and sure enough, error, opposite field double, throwing error, and my once precious 2 run lead has turned into a 4 run deficit.

I'm in the same boat as you. This should be a great game, but I feel cheated far too often. I just played a game, Marlins (me) vs Nationals, in which I had 13 hits and only four runs, losing 4-7. Every time I got two men on with no outs the computer became impossible to hit, but when the situation is reversed my pitcher completely loses confidence and falls apart. I've seen this happen in almost every game that I've played and it is pissing me off to no end. After all the work I've put in to be more patient at the plate it doesn't mean squat because any rally I start gets shut down instantly. Infield fly, foul out, ball hit right to someone. Inning over. UGH!!!!!!!!!

I wish there was a way to get the CPU to swing at pitches outside of the zone as well. Every hitter lays off even the closest of pitches. It also doesn't help that I see a lot of calls that should be strikes not being called in my favor, resulting in base hits for the CPU.

I really don't know what to do at this point, but some things seem broken in this game.

Why dont you guys just go back to default and make your own sliders? Not every set is going to work for everyone and it certainly sounds like a custom set for yourself is what you need, not trying to force blzers sliders to work for you. If all else fails then go down a notch in difficulty and adjust from there, I did it and Im getting pretty good results right now and none of that would be possible if I just attempted to force someones sliders to work for me. In the end this is no insult to blzer as he gave me some ideas as to what will and wont work for my playing style and then I made adjustments so his help was monumental in getting to where I am but you have to adjust things for your own play style in the end.

Are you finding the game challenging on Veteran. I am able to get 10+ plus hits a game, but as I stated in my previous post, anytime I get a rally going, it's instantly killed. I want the game to be challenging, but when I lose it should be because I played bad.
