Yeah I know what you are saying about it only being 16 games. Really, the only thing that bugs me is SB attempts and errors.

Okay, well then I suppose we can raise the SB attempt number, and maybe fielding/throwing errors too.

The triples are inevitable. They happen when the CPU dives and misses.

BTW I lowered the pitch speed back down to 3. I'm too used to it now.

Is the latest version of these in your first post, Blzer? I'm trying to follow the thread, but it's getting long-ish, and I may try them out given the rather impressive correlation between the MLB averages and those produced with this set.

I would probably not lower pitch speed, but it sounds like that's more preference than anything else.

The ones on the first page are still the ones that I used (as well as the ones in the save file and the ones that were uploaded online). They have not made any changes as of yet.

At first I only put Pitch Speed at 3 because I felt that was the natural feeling speed for pitches. It feels even more so when using a behind-the-pitcher cam. I'm still not sure which is the true speed, but now I'm so used to 3 that I don't really want to change.

Re: Blzer's All-Star Sliders and Settings

I tried two test games with the version you have on Sports Connect, and I generally liked what I saw. I use Classic pitching, but I liked that I seemed to throw more pitches than normal with your sliders. I threw 100 in 7.1 with Hamels, 66 of them for strikes with 7 Ks and 0 ER. My bullpen gave up two and I lost 2-0, but that's okay.

In both test games (one against Wellenmeyer for STL and one vs. the #1 from MIL), both guys threw about 65% strikes. I walked twice in the first game and once in the second. I still saw a huge number of first pitch strikes, but the sample size was small.

The only thing I didn't like is that I'm still striking out too much. Several were on checked swings that were appealed, and I'm seriously thinking of turning that feature off, but I think the 0 timing slider had something to do with it. Have you played with that slider anywhere other than zero?

Ya I have to agree about strikouts.... I'm currently 30th in strikeouts batting

I'm also wondering if it has anything to do with timing being at zero because I'm also whiffing at an alarming rate

Try putting the Timing back to default.

And the CPU Consistency -2 clicks from default (3)

My timing is at 0 so I put it in my ultimate control. If I swing too early, it's my fault. I've been timing things really well. I'd advise you guys work through it, but that's just me obviously.

If you do raise the timing slider, lower the foul slider.

First I would like to thank Blzer for these awesome sliders

The game was Whitesox (me) vs. Giants

                      Box Score:
                      Whitesox 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 --2 8 1
                      Giants--- 0 0 0 4 1 0 0 1 X --6 7 0

                      Win: Tim Lincecum
                      Loss: Mark Buherle
                      Save: Bob Howry

                      Homeruns:
                      A. Rowand

                      Overall Thoughts:
I had a great time playing this game. I was amazed to have the lead after the first inning, but that didnt last long. I got beat on the big inning, which was kicked off by a Three-Run Homerun hit by Aaron Rowand which I found to be ironic. He hit it off of a get-me-over changeup. Their run in the bottom of the eighth was from an overthrow to first base by Josh Fields. Overall I had a great time and I am going to play another game right now.

Vowed to use these sliders and restarted a dynasty, this time with the Royals. I like KC and I like their players and I love Kauffman Stadium so there you go. Also if I started 1-10, it wouldn't be a big deal.

                        at Chicago White Sox
                        W 15-3
                        W 10-2
                        L 4-11

                        vs New York Yankees
                        W 9-7
                        W 7-6 (Rivera blown save!?!?)
                        L 3-13 (7-run 1st inning for the Yankees)

                        vs Cleveland Indians
                        L 4-8
                        W 10-1
                        L 0-2

                        at Texas Rangers
                        W 10-2
                        L 3-7

That's where I am at this point. The wins for the most part haven't been close, but beating Rivera in the 9th was sweet. The losses haven't been close either, with the exception of that Cleveland finale. They either beat me with a HUGE inning or I'm up by a run and then my reliever all of a sudden can't locate the plate, walks two and boom 3-run homer, it's frustrating and it really takes away from the game, but on the other hand it's like real life and I am using the Royals so take it with a grain of salt.

I am unable to hold the CPU under 10 hits at all. I am finding pitching to be completely unrealistic in this game as the CPU rarely swings at anything outside of the zone, especially on 2 strike counts. And don't get me started on close pitches never being called with 2 strikes against the CPU. I try and try but the CPU just fouls off pitch after pitch with 2 strikes until I finally make a mistake and it gets the desired result of a hit. I am beyond frustrated with the game at this point. I never had these types of problems last year. It seems to me like SCEA went out of their way to make the game frustrating beyond belief this year. I welcome any suggestions to stop me from pulling out my hair.

Try ToObrien's sliders, I think you'll be surprised how realistic the game becomes by playing with his veteran sliders. I've been playing with them non stop for the last two days and I'm not having the problems you are. In fact there are times where I've felt the computer swings at to much out of the zone and striking hitters out was to easy. But then in other games I can't get any strikeouts and they are real patient.

Try his sliders if Blzer's aren't working for you. Not every slider set will work for everyone....let's keep that in mind. It's about finding the best set for you.

I just don't want the game to become too easy. I don't mind losing if I'm not playing well, but the rate that I'm losing at is just ridiculous.

Blzer, any suggestions on what I can adjust to see a better variety of hits per game for the CPU, as I'm consistently seeing 10 plus per game.
