Blzer, thanks for your slider. It really makes the game awesome. But here's some problem I faced after using this slider, that is, CPU's fastball almost disappear!!! I don't know this situation is caused by this slider or not, but there are too many breaking balls that CPU throw. I can't even face any fastball at one bat. Does someone have the same situation?

I'll try a few games and see if this situation improve.

        thanks in advance.

Re: Blzer's All-Star Sliders and Settings

Played my first game with these last night

          BOS (me) 2
          MIN (cpu) 1

          Beckett went 7 innings, 1 er, 5 htis, 2 bb, 7 K's
          Baker went 6 1/3 innings, 2 er, 8 hits 1 bb, 6 K's

Papelbon nailed down the save in the 9th

I will play more games with these today and mix up some pitching matchups.

Overall - these played real well, I was very happy with the game these produced

Definitely not the situation with me man. As I said, I've faced situations where they throw four straight fastballs at some times.

Are you getting behind in the count often? It could just be because they know they're fooling you or something.

At any rate, I don't think there's a slider that determines what kind of pitch they throw you. That's all determined by the API.

I think I might want to drop fielder arm strength like you Blzer. Happy with arm strength at 3? Is it a big change? Does it affect the catcher throwing out base stealers?

I'm very pleased with arm strength at 3, it feels really realistic. There will be times you need to hold it down, thus risking a throwing error (and as you can see from box scores, I'm not yet committing too much of). I lowered the Steal Ability slider by 1, and depending on tests with mediocre runners I may lower it one more. Probably not, but we'll see.

How about outfield throws to bags and their accuracy. Is this still good?
                  Thanks.

These sliders rock but I'll admit I turned the fielding aid and pitch meter back on. The most meaningful changes appear to be the reduced fielder quality, reduced AI strike rate, and improved player hit quality. Unlike the bunch of games I had played with default sliders it didn't feel like the AI was just pounding the strike zone or that when I'm perfect on a pitch it's not rewarded with at least solid contact. Once again, good job Blzer.

Thanks, man. In the file save and online upload I kept the catch region indicator on for you guys, so I just may "turn it on" for the slider adjustments. I have a feeling that a lot of people don't play with it off, especially with Manual field assisting.

BTW I use the pitch meter. You may have been talking about another option... pitch cursor maybe?

Again, it almost seems perfect to me. I've played enough ball in my day and watched them on TV to see that the throws in this game on default are far too strong. Normally I throw with maximum effort from the outfield to try and get out runners. Sometimes throws barely go offline and sometimes they're on target barring a couple of bounces. It feels really nice.

Now if there was a deterrent, it's something that can't change with sliders. When there's a slow rolling single and a runner is rounding third for home (or second for third), the outfielder simply isn't charging/crow-hopping with the kind of effort that they need to. I made mention of this in that trailer where Granderson tags with Ichiro trying to nail him at the plate, and they do far too slow of a crow hop. Plays should be a little bit closer than they actually are as a result. Again, nothing that can be adjusted... just an animation that these guys need to put in for next year.

I made this post earlier, and stand by it. I'm again watching a CPU vs CPU game (Boston @ New York), and with my exact sliders it is in the bottom of the 8th inning with Beckett still in the game. He has thrown 107 pitches (62 strikes 45 balls)... 66 4-seam fastballs, 22 curveballs, 9 2-seam fastballs, and 8 change ups.

Again, it just may be a matter of you falling behind early in the count or them catching onto what you're chasing, whiffing, or doing poorly with.

As for this game, again the Strike Frequency may be too low. There are four walks on each side. I'll try it at 1 or 2 for the next CPU vs CPU game... otherwise other numbers are completely solid! I'm feeling like this is the slider set for the most part.

Ill give these a shot tonite. I tried to go back down to Veteran and try the veteran sliders that were posted here by Dori and Trinity (Good work to the both of these guys btw) but to me it just felt that I was pulling one over the CPU. Granted I got the win and the stats looked ok but I just don't get the same satisfaction in winning as I do when I win on All Star. Ive been playing the show since 07 and last year was really really good on HOF default but this year is a totally different story and Im content on sticking with All Star.

Blzer, thanks for your reply. I have already tried another two games, and it seems to become normal for fastball frequency. Maybe the game I played with no fastball is a special one...... I'll try more games.

                                Sure thing man.

Also, my Boston vs New York CPU game came out awesome! I took screencaps before I had to leave for campus, and I think you guys will be pleasantly surprised at how real some of these turned out. The only issue was the strike frequency was a notch too high. I think if I bump it up to 1, it will be a great set for CPU vs CPU games!

Hopefully I'll have the screencaps up by 4:00 or so.
