May I ask why? I have them as 1 and 2, respectively, in my sliders. I know different people have different preferences, but I'm just curious as to what your reasoning is?

I just see to many outfielders throwing floaters back in and it just seems that their should be a bit more speed on the base paths.Comment

I strongly disagree. I've dedicated a lot of time to fielding throw speed and I think that if you really watch baseball, or take the time to watch clips online, you will see that it really does take some time for the ball to reach its target. Don't confuse what you are used to from other video games, with actual real life standards. I see where you are coming from on the "lollipop" throws, but those are tied to throw accuracy, not strength (do you play with the throw meter disabled?).
Just my 2 cents...Comment

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
Well I bumped up both runner speed and throw strength by one and I liked what I saw so I am going to keep it right there. Had more close plays at first during double plays and tough outs and also saw someone thrown out at the plate with a strong throw from left field when the runner had no business trying to score. This is just for me but give it a try and see how ya'll like it.Comment

Yep.
As someone said, Timing is brutally hard with this slider set, sadly took me a month to realise that, extra base hits had totally died a death for me.
Switched to Zone (without moving the PCI, same as last year) and its night and day, double, x-base hits are back finally lol.
As Northface says. Timing leaves you at the mercy of the game too much, it seems to put the PCI wherever it feels like it...at least with Zone you always know where it will be.
Anyone struggling on Timing i cannot stress enough that switching to Zone will more than likely save the game for you.Comment

I don't know about "similar results;" you will be in the minor leagues with significantly weaker teams playing against you. However, once you get to the majors, its the same as franchise mode, so I'd recommend just using the same sliders.Comment

I'm surprised to see people having trouble with timing hitting this year. I'm killing the ball on timing. Gonna have to turn the HUM power down some. As far as timing, I haven't had an issue with it. Actually seems easier to hit than last year. Just me though."The best thing about being a football player at Alabama...winning...winning." -Mark Barron

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
it isnt god awful but the swing throughs on some wheelhouse pitches are noticable for me and it's not really due to the pitch speed that i need to change for me (have it 4).. .my atbats are a bit short in duration, not fouling off as much, as last yr..i've hit back to back to back HRs (nyy) in my last game (last weekend) but cant handle the painted corner pitches well w/ timing hitting.Last edited by abcabc; 04-23-2011, 11:40 PM.Comment

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
I've had some great results hitting the ball with the sliders thus far. Batting .224 with the Cubs through 5 games of my current season.
5 games
37/165 .224 AVG
17 Runs
8 2B
2 3B
1HR---Low??
3 SB
0CS
12 BB
39 K
Other than low power #'s so far....not a biggie as only 5 games these seem to play well. My problem comes with pitching. I use API because I like the feature and I place my cursor on the glove. So API wants the inside slider to end just inside, i place inside so it ends much deeper inside for a ball. Thats my personnaly gameplay. Here are my stats through 5 franchise games, all starters once, and let me know if I can or should change anything
5 games
3W
2L
1.13 ERA
39H
7R
6ER
1HR
15BB
42K
1.13WHIP
.230 AVG vs R
.224 AVG vs L2012 Chicago Cubs Franchise: The Show
6-3, .279AVG, 4.22ERAComment

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
The sliders seem to be working alright so far but its far too early to judge as Ive only played 4 games and all of them were against the Giants pitching staff. Having said that, Im a little dumbfounded how guys come here and say that they arent having any problems hitting and then their team batting average is .220, thats terrible so how arent you having any problems exactly? I guess some people have a different idea of realistic as a team batting average of .220 is just as bad as a team era of 2.00 but yet Ive seen multiple people praise those results for some reason.
EDIT- Question for anyone in the know, has anyone seen a unrealistically big jump in errant throws down to second when trying to throw out a base stealer? Using Barajas Ive air mailed it into centerfield on all 3 times Ive tried and Im not going full strength on the throw either so Im clueless. I dont know if its the player or the sliders at this point.Last edited by The Chef; 04-24-2011, 09:52 PM.Comment

Solid hits raised to 3
Pitch Speed lowered to 2
Batting cam set to Catcher 9
Much better, im still striking out, 7-10 times a game opposed to the previous 15-20 per game. Im just not good enough to use the base slider set, I need a little more help.Comment

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
Not me. Ive made some changes to alleviate my hitting woes. I was batting around .220 as a team after 20 games. Tried zone hitting, it was better, but now I was striking out even more. No bueno. Went back to timing and changed the following:
Solid hits raised to 3
Pitch Speed lowered to 2
Batting cam set to Catcher 9
Much better, im still striking out, 7-10 times a game opposed to the previous 15-20 per game. Im just not good enough to use the base slider set, I need a little more help.Comment
