Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
Continuing the try and find the settings I'm going to play with it comes down to what's the balance between fun and realism I guess. I just played another game (franchise game) with Jake Arrieta. He threw four pitches in five innings that made it to the backstop. I don't know if that's ever happened. While it does provide for more walks I just can't stomach the way I have such little control over my pitches. Again, I don't mean to beat a dead horse but a guy like Jake Arrieta should have pretty good command of his pitches most of the time. I need to figure something out though because I'm definitely stuck in limbo on the pitching interface, difficulty, and slider adjustments.
Additionally after about a dozen games it seems that the CPU is throwing strikes about 50% of the time to me. I'd like to see that number closer to 60% of the time. While I like drawing walks and not being last in the league in that category I also don't want to be up 2-0 every at-bat (not literally, but way to often for my liking).
I just wish analog pitching allowed for more missed pitches instead of missed pitches just floating right over the heart of the plate.
I use the Reds and their starting pitchers are pretty bad and I don't struggle with control at all.
I think I have 2 total walks I the 5 games I have played in my season.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
My 2 cents on this thread so far...
First, IMO this is the best slider set out there for the way I play the game. Through the games I've played (all with the Angels) I am not way ahead or way behind in any statistical team category other than getting struck out. I strikeout the least in the league, by a couple per game better than any other team, but if that's the only stat that will be lopsided at the end of 162, I'll take it.
Double Plays: I used to hit into a lot of double plays as well, but it just comes down to swinging and hitting low balls in the zone or slightly out of the zone. I think you have to be willing to take a low strike sometimes rather than swinging and putting the ball into play.
Pitching: I give up the 2nd most homeruns in the league because of no control meatballs, but it's part of the give and take with classic HOF. At first, I hated the "random" pitching, but it truly is the only way to get legit pitching stats. Otherwise pitching becomes far to easy to aim your pitches and nail the corners. For years, I never walked people, now I'm still allowing less than 25 teams, but allows more realism. Again, give and take. I almost always use the catcher's call and location, but I do drift the location quite a bit because of the randomized pitching on classic.
Auto Fielding: Never used this until this year. Maybe the greatest part of the set. Previous seasons I remember to many plays the controlled player moved in a bulky, boggy way and led to some terrible plays in the field. I honestly would never play with manual fielding again.
There is much more to say, but I'm just trying to get active on the forum instead of just watching from afar.
Thanks for the work and I'm loving the way the game plays with these sliders.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
The computer has no problems hitting bombs on me, doubles and triples not so much. I have also played many games with solid hits at 5 and I don't know if there is really a big difference. Give it a shot for 10 or so games and see what played better after that and roll with that.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
With being a total noob at the show these sliders really do fit me honestly. I am playing with exact OP settings just on dynamic difficulty and I am quite happy with what I'm getting through about 20 games. My hitting has finally gotten up to veteran and my pitching is at veteran+. I am slowly getting better! Haha. But thank you for the great sliders armor![emoji4]

Yeah my stats are about the same. I don't strike more than 2-5 times a game, with the majority of those being my pitcher. I really wish I could get those numbers higher somehowComment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
Just finished first game of franchise with OSFM and got my *** kicked.
3 hits. 2 in bottom of 9th. So 1 hit through 8 innings!!!
Does anyone else have a hard time seeing the baseball in daytime? I play on a 42" in bedroom and maybe that's it but I can't pick up the ball until it's right there too late.Comment

Man I booted up my Rockies franchise once OSFM 1.5 came out and paired with these sliders/settings I really have only one way to describe it so far:

Is anyone rolling with these on All-Star difficulty for pitching? I know A&S now plays with the same slider set on Hall of Fame but I just have not been able to get good results playing on that level.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
First off, deepest apologies if this has been covered, I simply cant cut pace with this thread lol.
Im 31 games into a Twins franchise. So far, zero injuries at all to the big league guys, however, a staggering 14 players on various DL's throughout AAA and AA. It seems every day, after I "sim through date" to go to the next day. Do I need to go change the slider after every game before I sim my minor league games, and then return it to 8???? Or is this just a remarkably tough stretch of my organization below the Majors?
ThanksComment
