Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
Just traded the game in. I've bought the Show for as many years as I can remember and have never had an issue. I'm not sure what they did with hitting this year but something just isn't right. I played 49 games in my current and franchise and who knows how many I restarted. I went back 17 games in my latest franchise....i scored THREE RUNS on something else other than a home run, and one of them was scored on a wild pitch. I can't remember the last time I had a rally. It's just not fun this year for me. I was second in the league in walks, struck out the least, had a 13th overall batting average, yet was third to last in runs. 95% of my runs have come off the HR. Yawn. Last time you'll see me on here. I'll try next year. Enjoy everyone!Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
Loving these sliders. I am 60 games into my Diamondbacks franchise and I am really enjoying them. Goldschmidt is near the top for the N.L. triple crown, and David Peralta leads the N.L. in homers. Besides that, then team is struggling. We lead the Majors in stolen bases with 65 and that has helped us to the lead in the N.L. West over San Francisco.
Pitching wise, we are middle of the road. We lead the National League in strikeouts, but our ERA is in the middle. Zack Greinke is (5-5) with an ERA over 3.50, but he leads the league in strikeouts.
I am playing with the sliders on page with with no alterations. Keep up the great work.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
Hi Armour. I'm playing both a Yankee franchise and a Met franchise. I use your sliders except for increasing pitch speed to 6 and 8 and human consistency and control both at 3. After countless starts and restarts, I have yet to have the cpu REALLY pound me in a game. The most runs I recall giving up is 5, maybe 6 in one game. If I wanted to give the cpu just a little more "help" offensively what would be the next tweak? Contact to 7? Timing to 6? I realize the Mets have a good rotation and the Yankees have the big 3 in the bullpen, but they still get blown out once in awhile IRL. It seems that if I score 4 runs I know I'm going to win and the games I lose are low scoring. Are you getting blown out occasionally in your Yankee franchise? Thanks for your helpYankees modern day

Have you tried moving up to his HOF pitching suggestions. My first 4 games I'm 2-2 with the Orioles. I've given up 1 run, then 3, then 12, then 5. So pretty good up and down in just 4 games with HOF.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
Thanks for your reply. I have tried HOF pitching and it just doesn't work for me - especially when it came to my relievers. They couldn't get anybody out. One game I was up 8-4 after 6 innings and Betances, Miller and Chapman gave up 9 runs in the last 3 innings. I tend to agree with Armour in that HOF may not be the level for classic pitching.Yankees modern day

What sliders can be adjusted to reduce the crazy amount of CG and SHO thrown by the CPU? I'm in June and between both leagues CG are over 100, Scherzer has 7 CG himselfMiami Heat

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
Guys, I need some advice. Using Armours sliders as they are on 1st page for my Yankee and Met franchises. I feel I need to give the cpu more offence. What do you recommend:
Raising contact to 7
Raising power to 6
Raising timing to 6
Some combination of these 3 options
I don't want to turn things in to a homerun derby, and still want realistic results, but I just don't feel threatened by the cpu. The Mets have 3 shutouts and given up 1 run in each of the other 2 games. Yankees are also 5-0 and the highest score was 7-5. Thanks for your helpYankees modern day

Hard to suggest anything on 5 games and just seeing scores and not player/team stats, but basically - raise contact, raise solid hits, lower timing and power as/if needed for balance/realism.
So I'd go 7 contact, 6 solid hits (and leave timing alone - if they start hitting you, you still want a way to get them out by changing speeds, etc, and power alone because better contact + better trajectories should = harder hit balls as it is). If that's not enough, keep going +1/+1 until you get too much offense, then lower power and timing by 1 each and see.
Basically contact + solid hits will help them locate the PCI better (better contact) and get better trajectories. The lower power (if needed) to keep HR in check in light of those two things and lower timing (if needed) to keep your K's and let you change speeds, etc."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

I'm still not feeling threatened by the CPU at all. My Reds have a 2.69 ERA through 33 games. I'm thinking about bumping contact up to 7 and lowering timing to 4 to keep my strikeout numbers. I've never had this much trouble with sliders.#BBN #RedsNationComment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
Thanks for the reply. What are your sliders at? Do you play on AllStar? I remember when Armour moved cpu contact to 6 he mentioned possibly moving power up yo 6 as well if you want to be challenged. I've also read some users have cpu contact at 7. I have played close to 50 games (I have a bad habit of starting my franchisees over) and I've never had the cpu score more than 5 runs in a game and don't usually feel very threatened. I guess I'm looking for that "fear" of facing the cpu hitterI'm having the same problem, the lack of CPU offense. My current sliders are...

My CPU hitting sliders are what Nomo has so 7/5/1/2/5. I use All-Star Classic. My control/consistency is 4/4, so close to Armor's.
I don't know how you guys are shutting the CPU down so consistently. My pitchers have not had that luxury in either of my franchises.
I would raise contact to 7 in each case. I would favor contact over solid hits for what to raise further if you still don't get the offense from the CPU if Solid Hits is 6. Maybe do contact first, play some, and if you still get a lot of poor trajectory for CPU, try raising Solid Hits +1, play more, etc.
Lower timing can produce more K's for sure, but if you don't get the K, you might see more balls hit all over the park line-to-line. That could stress your fielders. You might get more fouls, too. This probably isn't how it works, but for illustration, Just Late and maybe an out becomes Very Late and foul and you have to throw another pitch.Last edited by KBLover; 06-07-2016, 10:21 AM."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

It's not the sliders, it's the difficulty. Not sure what SCEA did, but the game plays easier on all levels this year.Comment
