Re: BYU 14's "Old Guy" quick count sliders for The Show 17
Here are my last 7 games using the patch 1.04 sliders
Yankees 3-8-0 (3 2B, 1 3B, 5 BB, 4 K)
Angels 4-10-0 (1 2B, 5 BB, 5 k)
Had to call up Kapielian to pitch due to injuries, left after 6 up 3-2 and Clippard blew it. Game went 12 innings Trout was 1-6, but the one was a walk off single.
Orioles 4-9-1 (1 2B, 2 HR, 2 BB, 8 K)
Yankees 7-15-0 (2 HR, 1 BB, 7 K)
Orioles 0-2-0 (1 2B, 2 BB, 8 k)
Yankees 2-6-1 (1 2B, 2 HR, 1 BB, 7 K)
Tanaka was on point, went 8 innings
Orioles 9-11-0 (2 2B, 4 HR, 1 BB, 6 K)
Yankees 6-8-1 (3 2B, 2 HR, 3 BB, 6 K)
Wind was blowing out - CC is 1-7
Red Sox 2-4-0 (1 2B, 1 HR, 1 BB, 7 K)
Yankees 3-9-0 (1 2B, 2 3B, 2 HR, 1 BB, 5 K)
Was horrible with runners on base
Red Sox 1-6-0 (1 2B, 1 HR, 2 BB, 7 K)
Yankees 4-9-0 (1 2B, 3 HR, 0 BB, 5 K)
First time I have hit a knuckle ball with any power, patience paid off
Red Sox 10-12-0 (1 2B, 4 HR, 8 BB, 7 K)
Yankees 7-9-0 (2 2B, 2 HR, 1 BB, 6 K)
Niese up from AAA due to injuries and got shelled
I currently have Severino and Brian Mitchell out (Sevy for 3 months) so Niese and Kaprielian are in the rotation and Gary Sanchez is out 2 months with a broken hand. He was hitting .323 when he got hurt.Last edited by BYU 14; 04-29-2017, 02:38 PM.Comment

Re: BYU 14's "Old Guy" quick count sliders for The Show 17
I tried a couple games on these sliders. My Pirates went to LA where the Dodgers were 27-5. I lost 2 out of 3. But I was trying to bump up the sliders for the CPU though. So I don't know if it worked cause I was facing a good team. The last game I settled with Human control at 2 and consistency at 3 and CPU timing at 5. The CPU would not have any offense at these sliders for some reason. I won the last game 11-6. It was a back and forth game and I was down 6-4 in the 8th and I scored 7 runs to break it open.
Pirates 11 14 0
Dodgers 6 8 0
Pirates: 4 2B, 1 HR, 5 BB, 9 K's, 14 for 38
Dodgers: 1 3B, 1 HR, 4 BB, 9 K's, 8 for 34
I never changed anything on my offense. I'll see what my next series against Arizona.Follow me on Twitch

Re: BYU 14's "Old Guy" quick count sliders for The Show 17
I really like your concept and will be endorsing these. I myself am 47 years old and like you mentioned not as quick on the stick as I want to believe I still am LOL.
I am going to run some test games with these today and got everything entered in as far as sliders go.
My question is what setting are u using for fielding? All Star or Hall Of Fame?
I myself like you want it based of players ratings. I use Directional with shift and things like that turned off on the screen. I use Classic pitching all about the players ratings. On fielding I usually use All Star with buttons with nothing on my screen.

Thank you for checking these out and I would love to hear your feedback. I use the exact same on fielding, all-star with buttons, clean screen.Comment

Re: BYU 14's "Old Guy" quick count sliders for The Show 17
Played a quick game in my Yankee franchise to check
Yankees 3-8-0 2 2B, 1 HR, 2 BB, 2 K
A's 6-10-0 3 2B, 2 HR, 4 BB, 6 K
Trigg went 6 2/3 7 hits, 3 runs, 2 BB, 1 K, 89 pitches. The AI didn't get a reliever up until the 6th and didn't pull him until he gave up a 2 out double to Castro that cut the lead to 6-3. I think we are good, hopefully this holds up as this was an appropriate hook based on pitches and game events.Last edited by BYU 14; 05-01-2017, 12:08 PM.Comment

Re: BYU 14's "Old Guy" quick count sliders for The Show 17
In the one game I played hook looked good as well. Jimenez went 6 full, 2 ER, around 100 pitches. They brought in a reliever to start the 7th. He promptly loaded the bases, then was pulled for another reliever, who got me to ground into a double play immediately. I was very angry and happy at the same time lol.PSN: PrettyToneyComment

LOL, I can relate. I played a game yesterday where I loaded the bases with no outs, the CPU then got two force outs at home and a weak pop up. I did hang on to win the game 3-2, so there is that.Comment

Re: BYU 14's "Old Guy" quick count sliders for The Show 17
Last couple of games, a couple of good pitchers duels and the CPU using starters correctly on quick counts, which makes me very happy.
Yankees 1-2-0 1 2B, 2 BB, 6 K
A's 2-10-0 3 2B, 1 HR, 5 BB, 5 K
Jharel Cotton took a no-hitter into the 8th for the A's and after I put the first two runners on the CPU got a reliever up. I scored on a sac fly to tie it at 1-1, but the CPU let Cotton pitch out of it and he threw 101 pitches. A's brought their closer on in the 9th and won in the bottom of the 9th.
Yankees 3-8-0 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 3 BB, 6 K
A's 2-2-0 no extra base hits, 6 BB, 10 K
Kaprielian was brilliant for the Yankees going 7 to get his first win, though a bit wild walking 5 and fanning 7. The A's starter went 6, threw 82 pitches and left down 3-2.
On the season 34-35, 4th place in the east

Re: BYU 14's "Old Guy" quick count sliders for The Show 17
It was brilliant my last game. I was down 3-2 in the 7th inning last night against Matz and the Mets. I had 2 outs with a runner on 1st. I hit a single to make it first and third. I thought for sure they would take Matz out but they left him in there to try to get out of it himself. I hit a 3 run HR to take a 5-2 lead and then they took him out. I thought that was awesome cause you never seen that before this last patch. That is true baseball and the CPU made a bad judgement call on leaving him in too long.
My Pirates are struggling. I lost 7 in a row and am 9-13 in the month of May. The Cubs had won 20 games in a row to take a commanding 7 game lead in the NL Central. What I think is cool is the "Around the League" presentation between games the announcer said the Cubs are one win away from tying the MLB record for consecutive wins. That was true and thought that was pretty neat. In the mean time I came back and won 3 in a row now. I was struggling it was 3 games in a row I scored first and then I blew the lead later in the game. The last game my RP blew a 1 run lead in the 8th and then was down by 1 in the 9th and I came back. It was so intense. Even the announcers were saying it was a good win after losing 7 games in a row.Follow me on Twitch

Re: BYU 14's "Old Guy" quick count sliders for The Show 17
Tested these out for the first time yesterday with the non-QC adjustments and had a rather enjoyable game between the Yanks and Jays that felt quite realistic. I hit a few balls to the gap but failed to HR and only allowed 1 first inning HR to the Blue Jays that ultimately was my demise in a 3-1 loss. Toronto loaded up the bases 3 times in the game and I stranded several runners on third. It really could have gone either way. I pitch on meter and I'm not that good so the step up in difficulty hurt me in the walks department. Tanaka went 6 innings, striking out 7 and walking 5. Toronto's starter Latos went 8 innings and they pulled him for the closer for the 9th despite a rather low pitch count. (I might have to try QC to get the opposition's pitch counts up, I'm a rather free swinger). Can't wait to try these again.
TOR 3-8-0
NYY 1-5-0
I will note that I loved the hit variety I saw. Specifically, a little seeing eye single that just found a hole between first and second despite Castro's best efforts and a blooper that the Toronto short stop ranged out for while the CF was charging in and it just made it in over the SS's outstretched glove.Comment

Like you I am a free swinger, so QC is about the only way I draw a substantial number of walksIf you go QC with meter, I would consider raising human accuracy a tick from the original post, depending on how good you pitch with meter. Even on classic, HOF pitching hurt you with walks if you try and get too cute or don't nail the timing. Thanks for checking these out and

Re: BYU 14's "Old Guy" quick count sliders for The Show 17
Well it was opening day in Baltimore and I lost 10-1. Only gave up 8 hits, but a hit batter, some walks, a wild pitch with a man on 3rd (who scored) and 3 HR which included a Grand Slam was just too much for my 4 hits.
Wind was 4 and the CPU had +1 pitch Control which gave them a 5.
How has the power been playing on 5. Now in the CPU's defense the HR they hit were almost in the center. Don't know my my pitcher keeps trying to throw down the middle????Comment
