I think I need to release V5 early. I am in need of playtesters, I cannot get a large enough sample size in a reasonable amount of time. The aspect I want playtesters to focus on is the CPUs management of starters. So far I've had the CPU pull the starter early twice. Once made some sense, I was up 5-0. The second time was a bit of a head scratcher, it was a tie game, although both times I had managed to run up the pitch count.
My question for you guys is: should V5 also have my recommended pitch speeds? Or should I keep them the same as V4?
Expect V5 to be in the vault someone either today or tomorrow. I'd like to run all the hitting settings through the one pitcher/one hitter testing gauntlet one more time just so I can claim that those are finally locked in.
Some notes: I played a game of my OSFM last night. I've been mostly playtesting on my carry over save, but I was not shocked to find that the settings played even better on OSFM, where there isn't rampant inflated attributes. Most inflated attributes even out, but speed, the speed is constant and oppressive in my carry over. OSFM rosters aren't afraid to give a guy like McCann 0 speed, but in my carry over it's rare to see guys with speeds under the 40s. Ugh.
With injuries at 5, I was getting no injuries. With injuries at six, they are happening at a good pace but... They all seem to be my team! Maybe I've just had bad luck, but it's something to keep an eye on.
I swear sometimes I feel like when I make even the smallest change, pitching gets too hard, but when I change it back pitching is too easy. I need testers with bad pitching on their staff testing my V5 legend pitching sets. Both my carry over and my OSFM have deep pitching, so it's hard for me to distinguish if I've just found the right balance and my success is my staff just living up to their potential, or if I need to turn the difficulty back up.
