    Re: TheWarmWind's Impact Sliders

I think I need to release V5 early. I am in need of playtesters, I cannot get a large enough sample size in a reasonable amount of time. The aspect I want playtesters to focus on is the CPUs management of starters. So far I've had the CPU pull the starter early twice. Once made some sense, I was up 5-0. The second time was a bit of a head scratcher, it was a tie game, although both times I had managed to run up the pitch count.

My question for you guys is: should V5 also have my recommended pitch speeds? Or should I keep them the same as V4?

Expect V5 to be in the vault someone either today or tomorrow. I'd like to run all the hitting settings through the one pitcher/one hitter testing gauntlet one more time just so I can claim that those are finally locked in.

Some notes: I played a game of my OSFM last night. I've been mostly playtesting on my carry over save, but I was not shocked to find that the settings played even better on OSFM, where there isn't rampant inflated attributes. Most inflated attributes even out, but speed, the speed is constant and oppressive in my carry over. OSFM rosters aren't afraid to give a guy like McCann 0 speed, but in my carry over it's rare to see guys with speeds under the 40s. Ugh.

With injuries at 5, I was getting no injuries. With injuries at six, they are happening at a good pace but... They all seem to be my team! Maybe I've just had bad luck, but it's something to keep an eye on.

I swear sometimes I feel like when I make even the smallest change, pitching gets too hard, but when I change it back pitching is too easy. I need testers with bad pitching on their staff testing my V5 legend pitching sets. Both my carry over and my OSFM have deep pitching, so it's hard for me to distinguish if I've just found the right balance and my success is my staff just living up to their potential, or if I need to turn the difficulty back up.

Had today off so I played a trio of games. The only change I can recommend since the patch is to turn pitch speed down from whatever you are currently using by one.

I actually had to turn my pitch speeds up all the way to 10 for both. Keep getting feedback that says I'm early on all my swings now since today's patch. Yesterday I had them both on 7. I swear man once I get into a groove at the plate then come the patches smh.

All Star Hitting-HoF Pitching seems to be the sweet spot for me. Are these sliders designed to play on one set difficulty across the board?

Nope, you'll see the breakdown between levels in the OP. I have Veteran to Legend for hitting and HoF and Legend for pitching. I have all 8 slider sets uploaded to the vault as well, but be warned, I have the pitch speeds set to my recommended as of version 5, which I myself now find too fast.

My recommended version is Hall of Fame hitting and Legend Pitching, but all versions should have a similar feel.

WW bud, I should be fine using the OP sliders with Classic pitching?

I honestly have no idea. I haven't played without pulse since it was introduced.

My recommendation would be to merge my hitting sliders with someone else's pitching sliders, but you're more then welcome to try using the OP sliders.

If you do decided to try it, let me know how it works out. I'd lean towards recommending the HoF set of you go that route, but again I have no real clue if that's a good idea or not, I'm just going with gut feeling.

I will give them a shot with Classic pitching.

                          Re: TheWarmWind's Impact Sliders

At this point a V6 is very likely.

                          Current changes being playtested:

Baserunner Steal Ability moved from 4 to 5

Seems I was a victim of bad luck statistics, where right after I moved up baserunner speeds, I was stolen against by guys with bad basestealing ability several times in a row. Further playtesting showed this to be a statistical anomaly, which of course can happen and should be allowed, and since moving Steal Ability back to 5 results have normalized.

Starting Pitcher Staminas moved from 7 to 8

This is in part due to having a few too many starters pulled too early. The switch is new so no playtesting as of yet. I'm hoping I can lock down a setting where the CPU manages both the starters and the bullpen well without having to change the setting mid game. I have been and always will be a set it and forget it guy.

All changes are being playtested on the HoF hitting/Legend Pitching set.

How are people finding injuries at 6? I've been having a few too many, and yes, all of my injuries have been happening in game. However, I wouldn't call my results egregious or unrealistic. I could just be having an unlucky season. It doesn't help that I didn't get a single injury through 20 games throughout the entire league and then THE GAME I bumped it up to 6 my best player breaks his leg, and then within three games the entire top of my order is out for various amounts of time.

I just wanted to say I'm glad I found your approach to errors.

I've been using close to your setup for several games now (9 made so many throwing errors on both sides it was literally funny ) and loving the risk of errors on any play.

Really? Man even at 9 I still see plenty of error free games, even from teams with poor arms. Mind you I do most of my testing on my carry over with its inflated attributes. But yeah, I haven't watched much in the way of full games but I've been watching a ton of condensed games this year, and by comparison the show plays way too clean at default IMO. Love seeing those errors that don't make a difference but are still in the game, like when an infielder boots a ball that he wasn't going to make the play on anyways. That happens all the time irl, glad I could make it happen in the Show as well.

                                Glad you're liking it!
