I dont have my exact per game numbers on me, but I am the Twins and I average roughly 6 or 7 a game.

I am going with the Pittsburgh Pirates, a decidedly middle-of-the-road team that could break either way. I really love the Pittsburgh squad, the ballpark and the division. Should be fun!

Needless to say the first game of the season has plenty to discuss!

I decided to retain Garrit Cole for my rotation, and he promptly rewarded me with a no-hitter! I THINK I may have pitched one other in my MLB the Show days, but nothing at this level. I was just in the zone.

It also helped that I had massive run support from the Pirates, but it was also unusual that the Tigers did not attempt to mount some form of comeback.

I am not going to make too much of one game. I will say that I really like the flow and pace of the game. The slower fielders and reaction really made for some nice animations in the outfield. It did not feel like I had cyborg athletes in all positions.

I had reservations about hitting on legend, but feel that the smaller PCI leads towards some different hit results that I was not necessarily seeing at lower levels. It's really not THAT much harder to hit on legend if you have a good plan at the plate and can control the PCI movement from being erratic.

I hit several extra-base hits, but nothing felt cheap and i definitely earned my HR with Dickerson. I also drew six walks. I don't expect that each game, but they are out there to be had.

If there is anything that bothered me about this game it was Detroit's unwillingness to pull Saupold was getting absolutely LIT UP. It felt like Drago pounding Apollo "Stop the fight!!". I had my hook at 9, so not sure why this happens, but I have seen the same issue will the hook at other levels as well. I believe it is just a game issue, but it certainly made a difference in my final stats as I pounded meatball after meatball.

Regardless, it was a fun time, and I am looking forward to seeing where it goes from here.

      FenwayMac...

I'm curious if you (a respected slider contributor) will be taking the "Legend Leap" from HOF? Your input would come in handy here as pitching is STILL too damn easy regardless of sliders tweaks or pitching mechanic. It's also possible to strike out when legend batting (unlike on HOF)

I seemingly flirt with shutouts every 2-3 games but have never tossed a NO-NO however, well done

Yes, I am playing with this set as designed by Mike. So far I really like the hitting on Legend, and the scoring and hit variation has been pretty great. I am also striking out 9 times a game (through four games). Also 3 hr’s in four games.

Pitching feels very similar to HOF in my opinion, so not much of a leap, but I am struggling to get A ton of K’s with my staff. I still feel like the computer will get their runs one way or the other regardless of level.

Tracking everything so happy to share as I go along. Definitely see variety to each game and having fun.

So I thought when you nail the ball exactly in the middle of the cursor it’s a home run. Am I trippin or does the power slider need to go up a notch? Feedback please

Middle middle can also be a line drive, etc. So its not always going to be a home run. But im definitely still seeing the low home run numbers trend. (Overall. Some teams are fine but as a league in unsimmed games its low) Not sure that it is the power slider that needs adjusting but if you find out a way without affecting other stats i would like to know.

Honestly as I play I’m about 25 games in my season and I feel like it might be my own lack of patience causing lack of homers but I’m gunna stick with these sliders and my team see how the season goes

I hope thats the case. I see about 140 pitches per game and try to only swing at pitches i can crush with less than 2 strikes. I get into deep counts and draw 3+ walks per game and square the ball up a lot. I hit quite a few balls every game to the warning track, where the fielder is standing right against the wall and has to reach up and catch it. I just need less than one of those per game to sneak over the wall, and all will be well. But the further i go, the more that low number is stabilizing.

But back to your point, lack of patience will cause lack of power numbers. So you may have found your problem. Hopefully.

Love the sliders so far, even if just after one game. It was on all star instead of legend, but i beat the Padres 9-1 on Opening Day. They threw out Dinet who had 5 ER in 5 IP. I threw out Anderson who was terrific, only gave up 1 or 2 hits. Braun had a 2 run dinger in the first, Yelich and Pina also had homers. Both teams had plenty of walks and Ks. I can pull up the full stats in a bit.

I dunno about the stats this is going to mess up but I raised power 1 and timing to 5 and strike frequency down 1 and I’m getting better deep balls nothing outrageous but I was number one batting and dead last on homeruns ever since that patch so I dunno I like it so far

                        My personal experience:
                        Human timing +1
                        CPU timing +1
                        CPU solid hits +2

Has given me very good HR numbers and made me actually fear the CPU hitters.

In regards to the power outage conversation...I am seven games in to this set and the one item that really stands out the most for me so far is I am striking out far more than I have in the past and my misses are between 30-35%, which is massively higher than the target for this slider set. All of those misses are driving everything down, including home runs.

I am going to play a few more to get a solid 10-game spread, but I suspect kicking timing +1 will slightly lower K’s and misses and increase better contact, which should in turn help with getting the ball deeper more often.

Thanks for the update. I had bumped timing for a while on one franchise and my strikeouts got to 8 per game which is perfect. Yet the power was still not there. My misses were a little high at 26% or so. The timing slider confuses me a little this year, as i bumped it up to 4 with this set and only struck out 5 times per game, over 15 or 20 games. But then - i raised solid hits to 4, played another 15 or 20 games (with timing still at 4) and i started striking out 7 or 8 times per game lol. Playing the same patient way. Ive never noticed anything like that before in all my slider testing.

I have one franchise going with this exact set (but if i bump timing to 4 i barely strike out), and another franchise at default human hitting sliders (timing at default also) - but kept these CPU pitching sliders - and i am averaging the exact same amount of strikeouts and misses as this set. Mysteries!
