I feel this is one of the more subtle improvements to the game this year. I'm actually walking LOTS of guys in some games, and definitely have moments where I'm upset that I threw a ball four. It feels incredibly realistic to me, but I do know what you mean about not having great control. My SP staff is pretty bad, so I'm ok with it, but you can try moving one of those up one notch. I'd recommend starting with consistency first.

I'm using the Yankees who have a pretty solid starting staff, and I was walking way too many batters and missing location when nailing the meter, far too often. I raised consistency up one notch and I’m seeing much more realistic and better results.

Hey Mike. I feel like the last couple patches have messed up your sliders for RTTS. When you released v1.0, I was able to see pretty good results as a bat-first 18 year-old in AA on Legend. Over a full minor league season, I was ~.320 with like 20-25 HRs. Since the last few patches, I just can't hit anymore, and I know it's not just me. They increased the pitch speeds by a lot, first of all. I can't catch up to the high fastballs anymore, even when I have my PCI set high looking for them. By the time I recognize high fastball and swing, it's already by me. Even when I time balls well and get good PCI placement, I'm not getting good results anymore. I'm getting a ton of pop-ups or weak ground balls, or hump-back line drives with a bunch of front-spin. It's really rare that I actually hit the ball hard into play now, and I've been playing these games for years, so I'm no rookie. The last couple times I've started a new RTTS bat-first player, I've been around .220 batting average with maybe 1 or 2 HRs over a month's worth of games. Any suggestions on changes to the sliders to adjust for whatever they did in these last few patches that have affected my timing and contact so much?

I have a bit of a theory on RTTS, or really just lower rated players in general, and it's that the ball simply comes in hotter for those players. It's a complete guestimate by me, but I've noticed it too in previous years, especially in RTTS when my guy is bad.

You can mess with pitch speed, but truthfully, LOTS of guys struggle their first year in MiLB. Sticking with the storyline, especially guys who are just dropped into AA to start their career (hardly anyone).

I struck out a lot in my first year but that's because of the low plate vision (and my lack of patience at times). What i noticed tho is the low numbers from other minor leaguers. I led the leaguein BA at .306, nobody else was above .285. At the end of my first season there seemed to be a lot of players retiring because of ability according to the game. This included a nice amountof minor leaguers.

Here are the changes I'm testing for a v1.3 release at some point this weekend:

+1 Human Pitcher Consistency (agree w your recommendations)
-1 Outfielder Arm Strength (too many 2Bs turning into outs)
+1 CPU Pitcher Consistency (too many wild pitches and a bit too many HBP)

                Thoughts?

I'm not sold yet on the +1 to CPU Pitcher Consistency as I'm seeing more strikes and less walks. We could add in a -1 to Strike Frequency which could be the perfect mix, otherwise we'll just have to deal w those WP by the AI.

I agree with these ideas, although I would suggest for Pulse users to not increase the consistency slider. I have been playing a lot of games with a good mix of pitchers (I use Pulse) and I do not walk enough batters. I firmly believe that Pulse is either too accurate or it's horribly inaccurate and pitches just end up around the plate via luck too much. I do see some gross misses, which I truly welcome, but I can pitch close to 70% very consistently.

Hi Mike, Inhave been using your slider, and so far The expierence has been good, I do want to ask if your set is ok to use with directional hitting/button pitching. I used to be Zone/Meter, but I stoped that because I always end up always looking at the PCI or Meter this not apreciatimg graphics, stances and overall player models.

Hi Mike, I've been using your sliders for a while now and they are great. The fielders cover the right amount of ground, balls get through the infield at the right rate and I'm using your pitching difficulty/sliders as well and find them to get great results.

The one aspect I can't really use of yours is the hitting as I'm simply not as good a hitter as you. My eyes aren't good enough and the reactions aren't what they were 10 years ago!

Anyway, I was wondering what sliders/difficulty changes you'd recommend to significantly increase strikeouts, but keep the contact and power just as solid when I do make contact, if anything slightly raising BABIP (to balance the increase in K's) without increasing power? Which sliders should I be concentrating on to alter those aspects?

Version 1.2 uploaded to Vault. Please note the adjustment in the first post to bullpen hook going from 7 to 8 during games (and could work fine for simmed games too).

I really, really like these changes.

Why not grab a 40-man version of OSFM 1.5 and then just edit each team to have 3 CLs?
