Checking last seasons stats in the MLB at the half way point in the season and comparing to my Franchise it's day n nite difference . Nearly all but 3 teams are underperforming drastically , just a few examples here -

Boston irl with 90 games played had a total of 508 runs with 131 homers , in my Franchise at 80 games played they have 323 runs and 81 home runs . Yankees irl had 503 runs and 149 home runs , in the franchise they have 329 runs and 94 home runs . So it's no wonder why i thought I was overreaching , looking at my own stats im actually doing fine . The stats are just awful for the CPU

In my franchise cpu team totals are close to normal but I'm not seeing any teams on a record breaking pace like what happened irl. My Giant's aren't a power team and we have less than 1 hr per game and my team leader has 20 through 144 games.
Keep in mind this game shouldn't be about replicating real life. What's the fun in that? This is our own unique franchise experience which can and should vary from real life sometimes wildly. What we are after is a realistic simulation experience in gameplay and just having fun. The results will vary for all of us and it's much more fun to get absorbed in the process of playing good baseball.
I have had players with power ratings in the 60's who mashed like Chris Shaw a 67 ovr with 68 pwr vs rhp who has 19 hr's in 205 ab's and I love it. I also have guys above 60 pwr who are punchless like Longo 8 hr's this year and Pillar 68 pwr vs lhp but 8 of his 10 hr's have come against righties.
I say ride the wave man and let it even out or embrace this as your storyline.
Don't get slideritis. I did and it's miserable. I finally settled on sliders and it's freeing.
That being said I have pitched so well at points it did take some joy out of the game for me so I understand how that feels.

Yeah I hear u , and this will for sure be my storyline . The young and exciting Jays such as Vladdy , Bichette , Gurriel Jr and Biggio have made their mark and are leading this team back to the playoffs . Bichette is truly having a breakout and monster year , 80 games played with a batting avg at .310 obp .394 and slugging .602 with 24 home runs and 63 rbis . Vladdy very similar with 21 home runs and 61 rbis . Shaw Gurriel Jr and Biggio are producing amazing numbers as well , it's been a great and kinda crazy 2nd season so far . But the fact that CPU teams have such awful numbers is annoying , I can't help it but feel annoyed by that

I just had the craziest base hit! I hit a hard ground ball up the middle which struck the pitching rubber and rocketed straight up I'd estimate 75-100 feet into the air and took a good 3 seconds to come down while the 2B and SS looked dumbfounded as the ball fell and I reached safely.

The 2019 Giant's have been officially eliminated on Sept. 21 as we have fallen to 8.5 gb in the wild card division with 7 games left to play. It has been one fun ride as we sit at 79-76. I will use the last week of the season to evaluate some young talent. I'll post stats once the season is done.

My only beef is that in my second season it’s all of a sudden really easy. I’m 30 games ahead in the NL best. Don’t get me wrong. I’m playing as the dodgers who have had all the young stars blossom into straight studs. And the rest of the division is under .500. So idk

So I made the step up to pitch speed at max and offspeed at 9 and its been brutal lol 1st game I struck out 10 times in just 5 innings and managed only 1 hit . Also it didn't help that the very first pitcher I was faced was Michael Kopech with his crazy velocity . 2nd game was no better , my timing is off course way off now and I'm really struggling . I'm not enjoying the speed bump up but I know I need to do something cus I'm just simply dominating with the bat , leading the league in batting Avg. slugging , runs and homers but I don't want to play with the pitch speed up , so should I just up the difficulty to legend for hitting and leave the sliders as they are ?

One idea that keeps you on Armor's set without getting crazy on pitch speed or difficulty.

Increase CPU pitch control to 6. If you're mashing the ball well on HOF, chances are that you're pretty disciplined with what you swing at. Increasing the pitch control would keep them more around the edge of the plate (pitching smarter) and give you fewer quality pitches to hit.

It'll be one of those changes that will be subtle on appearances, but should, on a long-term, start eating away at those numbers.

The other thing too....directional hitting IS ratings-based...so if you are using a really good hitting squad (ratings-wise), you're going to hit well provided you're disciplined.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Being more disciplined and working the counts was my biggest improvement in the last couple of months . I'm actually so proud of myself for that , my first season I finished in 21st place for walks and 18th in OBP . So far in this season with just a little over 90 games played im in 4th place with getting the walk and 2nd overall with OBP. It's become very normal for me to take a starting pitcher and have him throw 70 even 80 pitches in the first 4 innings , I'm very patient now . I even ended up putting the CPU starting pitchers stamina up to 8 just so they can last 5 or 6 innings and register a win . I'm using the Jays and OSFM 40man Sept 16 roster , I'm ranked 16th in contact and 7th in power . Any player that has 60+ power im crushing homers without even trying , it's truly annoying and taking the joy out of this game for me

Finished the season series with the Rockies going 7-12 against one of the worst teams in my franchise.
Charlie Blackmon owned me at .309/.333/.605. With 7 doubles, a triple and 5 hr's in 19 games. His numbers don't fully show just how much he impacted each game and series as he was the best player on the field in the rivalry. I'm so happy I don't have to face him until year 2.
More stuff to come as I wrap up year 1.

Really hope this isn't some placebo or a stretch of bad games and bad form for me but I've put pitch control to 6 and played 6 games so far and the results have been great . In these 6 games I've only hit 4 homers total and the most hits I've gotten in a game was 8 and most runs was 8 . No double digit numbers in these 6 games and that's been refreshing to say the least . I was also constantly falling behind in the count and could not battle my way back as easily , really struggled to get walks in these 6 games . Thanks for the advice , I just really hope what I've experienced in the last 6 games is due to that minor change and hope it sticks .

See how it plays out. But when I suggest increasing pitch speed first it is because your skill level at default was getting too good potentially.

Where as increasing cpu control you manipulated the ratings instead of you improving your timing and eye with higher pitch speed.

Do you want ratings manipulation or do you want human skill balance? See how it works out. But slowly moving pitch speed up one click at a time IMO is in the spirit of letting ratings still be tue same for both the human team and cpu team.

I want it on me with my button timing for hitting, sitting on pitches and still being able to draw walks instead of boosting the CPU.

And I moving to Legend with directional hitting and classic pitching is nit a good thing BTW.

Yes my timing and eye is what was leading me to double digits hits every game and 4 homers a game was becoming the norm . I'm torn right now cus I'm at the mid way point in my 2nd season and fighting the Yankees for the Division title , and moving the pitch speed to max and 9 for offspeed is going to kill this season for me . Starting the learning process all over again now would just mean this season was a waste , I still very much struggle against the elite pitchers on default , it's just that majority of the time ur facing average pitchers and I dominate those . I fear that maxing out the speed pitch is just too much of a hardcore change at this point in my season , but I don't mind goin 1 or 2 tics up . So should I put both fastball and off speed to 6 ? Or even fastball at 7 and off speed at 6 doesnt sound all that hardcore . I just wonder if that's enough to make a difference and challenge me again . I just really love this game and want a fair challenge again , I'm having such a blast but this has just gotten to easy and unrealistic

I would go 7 fastball and 6 off-speed. Maxing it out is a bit extreme. But I wanted you to see how tough it would be just by upping pitch speed to challenge your user skill which is what is causing the lack of a challenge for you. Not so much the player ratings.

So go that route first IMO. Or you can stick with Josh’s suggestion. I just like player ratings to be true and not boost the CPU with that control slider. I prefer trying pitch speed first.
