Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
My take on it is that you have to play really good baseball to stay ahead of the CPU. Just last night I used Steven Wright(I know, I know!) through the 6th7th inning to stay level. In the 8th I had Thornburg warmed up with every bone in my body telling me to bring him in to face the heart of the order. Of course I didn’t and tried to sneak the 8th with Wright. Encarnacion hit the first ball of the 8th for the biggest home run I’ve seen this year and Seattle won the game. I’m content to believe that was on me and not scripting. The CPU is merciless this year!Last edited by No.27; 04-20-2019, 07:43 PM.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Well, it seems as though all I really need to do is just complain and then viola... I get strikeouts. Haha. Just played a game where I had 11 total. Would still love to see a starter get double digits every now and again. But I'm at least 27th in the league in strikeouts now, as opposed to dead last, so that's a positive. That, and I ended my five-game losing streak...

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I don't post a lot but I just had to share what happened to me today.
Started a new franchise with these sliders and the new FullMinors/OSFM roster, All Star hitting, haven't played in a while so I went through a couple spring training games to get my timing etc. back.
Finally today had a great game against the Twins where things started to click again, had double digits hits, two homers, many XBHs and put up 7 runs, which is a lot for me.
But I don't feel super great about it. Mostly because I gave up 24 (yes 24) runs to the AI. Nelson Cruz went 6-7 with four homers including one grand slam and 11 RBIs.
In fact it was 'only' 17-7 in the ninth inning, but I got the dreaded 'zombie first baseman' bug where Hoskins took the ball on what would have been the final out and ran off into the dugout. E3 and seven unearned runs later it was finally over. My dog sits with me while I play and I'm pretty sure she could have pitched better than I did today.
Every other game to this point has been normal so I guess it was just one of those days.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I think either classic pitching isn't for me or I'm doing something wrong. I keep trying it and trying it and it's just so inaccurate and it's costing me games. The fact it seems up in the air when to release the button in the forums bugs me as well. My pitchers on the Rays rarely hit their spots and often miss badly even if I don't hold the button long. My hitting has improved so my pitching is costing me games. Game I just played my starter through almost double the amount of pitches the cpu started did and in 3 less innings. This is happening every game with classic pitching. The results are just too random in my opinion.Comment

Where do you guys fall on your leagues in strikeouts, just seeing someone using this set that is in the top 10 would make me feel a little better. I don’t mean to beat a dead horse, but man, minus a game every now and then (I’ve had two with double digit strikeouts but a starter has yet to have more than 7), I’m just sucking it up. Can’t strikeout batters consistently.
I’m back to 29th in the league. Ugh.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I’m kind of in the same boat my man.. the only real knock on this game for me. Every now and then I get some traction with the ks and swings and misses but it’s like 1 out of 4 games maybe. It’s frustrating for sure. My team era is solid but geez the cpu either fouls off everything or puts the ball in play. They also take a ton of pitches.
I’ve decided to raise most of my starters k ratings since I believe they’re extremely low and I’m currently considers human control 5 and cpu solid hits 5 to make them a little
More dangerous and help offset the raise in control

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
They Yankees finally won 2 in a row!
In game 3 of our three game set vs the White Sox Brett Gardner hit a dramatic 3R HR to give the Yankees a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the 8th!
The Fictional Oakland A’s lost a tough 4-3 opening day game vs the Mariners.
All I can say is “Wow” on Bacons fictional Roster.
It opens up so many new animations I have yet to see on 19.
I can see these two franchises along with my 1987 Yankees reboot and MTO are going to consume my gaming for the next year easy.
19 is simply owning my soul. Will be on soon to stream Yankees vs Red Sox!!!

I have also considered this. But I don’t want to make it so I never walk anyone. I do Issue walks, but not that many. I lead the league in fewest walks issued or at least I’m in the top three.
I’ve still yet to see from anyone (using these sliders, obviously) that they’re top 10 in strikeouts in their league. Simply knowing that it’s possible would give me at least a little peace of mind that it might kind of come around. I’m super early in my season, but I’ve played hundreds, if not thousands of game of The Show by now, so I can just tell, it’s different. Strikeouts are much more difficult.

You’ll still issue walks Gagnon.. it’s much harder to pitch to guys like trout so you end up nibbling. Just try it out for a few games and tell me what you think. The only other alternative is cpu contact 4 solid hits 5 and human control 4Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
In my Carryover, I am thinking I might just sim Spring since it doesnt sub out players. May keep a seperate file just in case it gets fixed. I really dont want to roll with it until its fixed. Im running out of things to do, to play 19. Im waiting for full mnors V2 to start my 19 franchise. Im just stuck currently.Really wish sports games played to ratings!
Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players

After 2 games my Yankee pitchers lead the league in strikeouts with 23. Yes, against the Orioles. I play on HOF with Armour’s exact sliders except I have human solid hits at 4. I listen to the catcher for both location and pitch type 99.99% of the time and just tap X to pitch. No problems for meYankees modern day
