Still looking for advice. I’m trying to make all star just a touch harder hitting. I was considering a drop on human contact -1. Opinions?

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Buddy, if you’re not down on all star I’d recommend that, and if that doesn’t help try going to pro.
I tried Legend up until about 2 weeks ago and just couldn’t do it. I had to drop to HOF. It’s much more enjoyable. I guarantee you can find your skill set. The difficulties go all the way down to beginner.
I mean this as respectfully as possible but there’s times where you just need to swallow your pride and drop down difficulties, whether that’s beginner, pro, all star or whatever. We’re all probably at the point with this game where it can be considered a LARGE sample size. So if your don’t have it going by now (just like I didn’t have it going with Legend) you need to just adjust.
Maybe try joshC’s sliders? He’s great, very respected in this community and really knows his stuff too. I hope you can eventually enjoy this game!

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Honestly man....my strongest advice (and I went through something similar last year) is to walk away from the slider threads, go to a pure default slider setup and start with dynamic difficulty for 50-60 games and see where you settle-in. Once you get locked in, you can start fiddling with sliders designed for that level and see how it works for you.
IIRC, you haven't played the game in a while (I'm pretty sure it was you who said that you hadn't played since 13 or 14). Many people, who HAVE been playing the series hardcore the last few years, are struggling on HOF. You're essentially torturing yourself for no reason.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
You can have good swings, hit a ball in the zone, but if the pitch isn't in an ideal spot/timing for that particular hitter (and it varies from hitter to hitter), weak contact will happen.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
It was me. I hadn't played since 13. I honestly thought I'd eventually get good at this HOF set with advice from those of you in this forum. Looks like it's not meant to be. I'm back on All-star and I'm going to try a few games there (with the All-star sliders) and see how it goes. If I'm still struggling to score runs my next step is to take your dynamic difficulty approach. Thanks to you and everyone else whose chimed in with advice. It's very much appreciated.
On a ironic side note, with all my hitting struggled I hit a HR earlier on a contact swing with Asavail Garcia. My first thought was SERIOUSLY! Lol.Comment

How dare this thread have calm, civil discussion instead of what I have come to expect from message boards about sports and/or gamingComment

Why are we changing human contact, power and timing sliders @Armor and Sword? Is this patch driven or something else, because the game has been playing beautifully for me so far as is. Seriously the best game of MTS in years.Born Seattle, live Denver.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
It looks like your newest set was updated on May 20th (10 days ago). I have been using the previous version (with Human Power, Timing and Solid Hits at 6, 6, 5).
What was the primary reason for lowering these down?Born Seattle, live Denver.

That was an update that changed line drive hits and a couple other things that improved human hitting in general.Comment

Yes. It really balanced hitting post patch 1.10
HR’s were out of control and this brought it back to how hitting felt OOTB and the hit variety is on point.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
After struggling mightily the last few weeks I’m 3-0 with the latest patch for my first 3 game winning streak of the season. Feels like hitting was dialed in just a little. Seeing a bigger hit variety again which is always welcome.
