I hate these patches/updates, simply because there is no going back (that I am aware of) once you DL the patch/update.
NHL series at least gives you the ability to select previous "tuners". So if the update/patch isn't your cup of tea you can revert back to a previous one.
Bases on the patch/update description, I think I am going to go for it. More swing miss/less fouls is a good thing IMO.

from streams ive watched today the update did not change much if any at all with the fouls. seems to still be alot of contact outside the zone.Comment

Just got done playing opening day in my Blue Jays franchise. Came away with a 2-1 win against Baltimore (all 3 runs scored on sac fly’s).
FWIW each team struck out 13 times (a rough game for both lineups) in what looked like a classic case of hitters not having their eye in yet.

What is up everyone! Long time lurker here on Armor's forum, and I usually watch Armor on twitch and chat with him over there (ShowTimeSN).
Lovin' these sliders and way to play, each edition Armor comes up with seems better and better. Love the way the game is playing.
However... Saw on twitter and here as well that there's a crash happening within franchise with the update.
So, I'm going old school. Disconnected from the internet for now. Love the way this game is playing, Going to take a backseat and wait for things to get sorted out.
Enjoy the baseball everyone! and be aware of the update, I've read that disconnecting allows you to get into franchise fine. Hopefully a fix soon!Comment

Re: Armor & Sword’s MLB The Show 22 Classic/Directional/Clean Screen Simulation Slide
Small sample size, but after DL’ing the patch I have not noticed a change in fouls vs swing & miss.
Still a ton of fouls and still too many fouls that IRL a hitter would never even get to.
This isn’t slider related….just how the game is programmed.
Still trying 2 figure out is I like fish eye or retro batting view 🤷*♂️…retro requires increase in pitch speed sliders and I haven’t found a sweet spot with that either.

Game is 100% different. How much is the question I’m still trying to figure out but… missing on good timed swings, harder to hit, etc..
Any one else have any overriding feelings?

Okay, so I forgot to mention this in my post above but …
It seems when influencing the swing direction, it results in a lot more swing and miss. Straight up no direction, I feel it makes better contact.
Also, the ball seems much slower in play.

Is that what’s causing the crash?? It’s happening on my sons franchise on Xbox 1 last gen, it gets to the game loading screen then goes black and back to Xbox Home Screen.

Re: Armor & Sword’s MLB The Show 22 Classic/Directional/Clean Screen Simulation Slide
I def noticed a lot more swing and miss in my 3 games so far today, and with good timing. Still a ton of foul balls too 🤷*♂️ I was dialed in pitching tho, had a 3 hitter into the 9th then blew it, so that’s still on par pre patch.

Re: Armor & Sword’s MLB The Show 22 Classic/Directional/Clean Screen Simulation Slide
I played the hell outta this game 2day. 5 games, every pitch every inning
Definitely a few more swing and miss, but the high volume of foul balls still an issue……I see way too many weak hitters battling with 2 strikes and having 6,7,8 pitch at bats.
Too many HR’s still showing up too.
I think this might be all under the hood type stuff and Armor has this game playing as good as it can be…..which is still damn good….I really enjoy it.
All I can see messing with is lowering fouls by 2 if not 3 and lowering power by 1, BUT those changes will probably mess with other things and then the chase and slideritis will be full effect…..I’m just gonna stay the course and play with the OP sliders and just not think about it.

We are talking about the foul balls that come from little contact and just to “stay alive” in the at bat right? If so, lowering the foul slider won’t really change that.
From my understanding the “foul frequency” slider is more about the likelihood of keeping it fair when you hit it down the line. Almost like it’s another way to increase hits in each game but not a way to stop the little dinks and such that lead to 11 pitch at bats 5x a game lol.

Yes, I saw on Twitter that they were putting out a hot fix early this morning.
