Slider Feedback after two franchise games:

I noticed that you get a wide variety of hits from the CPU. Some pitches they absolute kill to the point where you wonder if the CPU is hitting the ball too hard. But then you get times where the contact is not very good at all. It seems to be BALANCED.

The CPU absolutely kills fastballs that are anywhere near the middle of the plate. A fastball in the wrong place is going to be absolutely killed by the batters. Breaking balls over the plate get killed also. Breaking pitchers either need to be backdoor or be breaking out of the strike zone. When you come over the plate it has to be where you are switching speeds or somehow trying to throw the batter off balanced.

Hits are a lot more solid for user and the cpu. You can really smash the ball through the infield now.

The game has a lot more variables in it than last year. A lot of things need to go your way to win a game.

      Re: S & B's MLB 2025 Simulation Sliders

Update on my hitting sliders. I am smashing tons of homeruns unfortunately even with power at 4. I tried 3 and no way. Line drives in the gaps wouldn't reach the wall or come close. Figured as much, been the same way with the power slider every year I can remember.

So instead I'm lowering my solid hits to 3. So I'm now hitting with 6/4/5/5/3 for hitting. With pitch speeds 4/5.

Also a quick update on the hitting on the PlayStation Portal for anyone who has one and want to play their franchise on the go. Pitch speeds one less than whatever you use on console, so for me that's 3/4. But to add onto that I raised timing up one to 6. That takes away that tiny lag on the portal when hitting. Feels really good and I'm actually pretty surprised how well I am able to time pitches, even if I'm chasing junk.

Blue Jays franchise going strong. We're mid April already and rolling along with a 12-7 record, a game up on Boston and New York.

I think this games running near perfect for realism stats and the bp logic being mostly fixed has helped.

The only thing I’ve probably noticed is seeing a lot of good hits being fly balls, but this is a good thing in the past we seen home run frenzy.

It’s easier to fix offence with sliders then slow it down

What pitch speeds are used for this set? Along with which cameras? Do you use the pitching ball marker?

Pitch speeds are what your preference (and TV). I use speed at 4. But it might be my old TV. I have used fish eye 2 all last year. I am deciding on catcher and wide. I use the pitch marker and follow the catcher’s suggestions.

The game is playing really good. This has to be the best game they put out in a very long time.

I have to agree, it's playing beautifully. I'm so glad I bought it this year!

I went up 8-0 but the Marlins kept on hitting

I had to make multiple pitching changes to finally keep them down.

                  3-1 on the season.

Man you're raking early on! I ran a Mets franchise (didn't finish sadly) in I think it was 2022. Marte, Alonso and McNeil carried me. I loved getting those tight saves with Diaz too. 22 was so perfect until they patched it and increased the swing and misses to appease the online DD players. Unfortunately it translated into offline games vs the cpu as well.

For pitch speeds I have it at 6 I tried at 7 for a bit but was late alot to the laye 90s pitches especially the high pitches

It’s tricky I want it at something that’s Just right for me and not to easy to see. 6 seems to be the spot .

I'm still struggling on offense. I think I'm going to try and lower my pitch speed and see how it goes. I tried lowering the difficulty to All Star and then all of a sudden I was mashing the ball. Probably just out of practice.

The other thing I noticed is that in my franchise, it still seems like it takes pitchers a long time to recover their stamina. It's hard to pitch back to back days and I'll have days where almost no relievers in my bullpen at full stamina.

Maybe a different batting camera angle would help. Suggesting that because this is the first time I think ever on this game I'm using something other than fish eye or fish eye 2. HOF hitting now using 5/4/5/5/3 with fastball speed at 4 if you're wanting to try something different. No slider setup is one size fits all, but that's especially true for hitting.

RPs can still be effective if stamina is yellow. We just had a 13 games in 13 days stretch so I feel your pain. Real life they will bring up fresh arms every so often if needed as well so maybe place one on the 10 day IL with some made up manual injury to call up a fresh RP for a week if needed.

Yeah, I would lower the pitch speed so you can read the pitches a little better. If that doesn't work, maybe raise your timing up 1.

You can raise RP stamina to 6 like we had it last year. That should help them recover a little faster. You should be able to get back to back days from a RP as long as their pitch count don't get too high.

I know a used Michael Kopech one time for a couple of innings and he had like 40 pitches...he was out of energy for like 2-3 days. Which is about right for the amount of pitches he had.

Thanks man. The way to play 162 is to get ahead of the schedule from the jump. That way you can slowly up if you get bored a little or you have to take a break.

That is true. I like being ahead of the real life schedule. I used to like watching Mike Lowe's streams. He used to follow along the real life schedule. If I did that, I would have to have a 2nd franchise so I can play more lol
