Re: High Heat 2004 Anything & Everything Thread

    Anyone have this sim problem?
I have the roster "DREAM TEAMS" I have Keirik's slider settings but changed the hitting to 3 and HR to 1.
I have simmed a single season, I stopped it in July and get this-
The league leader in Hrs has 50. and the league leader in RbIs has 115 BY JULY 10th?????
    What do I do?

How long does it take to play a game in HH 2004? I seem to recall playing HH 2003 and finishing games in 30-40 minutes.

I enjoy The Show 09 (PS2) but man, some of those games can take over an hour to finish.

That is one of the things I loved about High Heat. Games rarely take more than 40 minutes.

Good to hear. I think I'm going to go pick up a copy; it'll provide a nice change of pace from The Show.

Yep, I just ordered a copy off Amazon. Actually, The Show didn't excite me as much as everybody else. The best baseball game I have is still HH2k2. So, I am interested in giving 04 a try.

Picked this up yesterday at GameStop for $1.99. One thing that worries me is that the game is a BLUE DISC and it runs HARD on my PS2 slim. I did play through half a game yesterday and the gameplay was just as good as I remembered. I couldn't hit for the life of me, though, but that was because of timing as I'm used to The Show. I will need to log some hours in batting practice.

I'm going to give this game a shot, but if it continues to run hard on my PS2, I may have to bring it back and look at something like MVP or Power Pros as an alternative to The Show.

What do you mean, "runs hard"?

Most "newer" PS2 games are on a regular disc (no blue backing). When I play those games, my PS2 slim is so quiet that if you turned the TV off, you wouldn't even know the PS2 was on.

When you put in a game with a blue backing, the PS2 fan kicks into overdrive, the system is very loud and you literally hear the disc spinning in the machine. Sounds very similar to the "disc read error" you will get with a 360.

Hi, I just bought this for PC, but it won't run (on Windows 7). Installs fine, but when I go to run the game, I get a pop up asking me to put the CD in the drive. The CD is already in the drive. I tried to run in XP compatibility mode, but same thing. I saw somewhere about you needing a no-cd exe, but I cannot find this with Google. Anybody know anything about it?

Check what I posted here. It's a fix for Windows Vista. Isn't Windows 7 sort of an update for Vista? This work around works like a charm on Vista as I had the same message before installing this mod. Don't ask me how this works, just does.

Thanks, Jim, I will try that. Not sure it will work for the Windows 7 problem, but worth a shot. Were you getting the same error I described while you tried to play in Vista?

                                Oceanlover,

I may be wrong, but isn't Windows 7 just an upgrade to Vista? Could be wrong. Somebody here must know. Maybe you can ask in the ENTERTAINMENT AND TECHNOLOGY thread. Those guys are a real help. They've helped me figure out some stuff.
