now that we've nailed down that question, i guess the next one would be - is there someone willing to do the conversion for us? would be appreciated...loved that game!

Re: High Heat 2004 Anything & Everything Thread
Ive converted earlier pc rosters to xbox but it's very time consuming, also you need a modded xbox in order to do this and you can't use the minor league players because the file is to big for xbox and crashes the system (locks up). Right now though i've just been playing the game on PC cause it seems to me at least that it plays a much better game on PC vs xbox. I'm not sure whether it's the higher resolution or the fact you can mod the tune file and other things or what. Pudge is supposedly working on an 09 roster for PC that will be released closer to opening day. Have any of you guys tried the xbox game on the 360, it looks much better than on regular xbox.Comment

Re: High Heat 2004 Anything & Everything Thread
Hey Sarge,
I actually bought the game ($2) and thought it was ok at first. However, as someone here suggested keep at it as it may grow on me. Well that hasn't happened yet, but I can see all the rave about this game. I wish I would have chosen this over mvp, mlb, and all star baseball because I know I would have loved it. I guess having a ps3 doesn't help as I am now used to the new technology. Once I find a way to update the rosters, I am pretty sure this will be a solid game.Angels= 2025 World Series Champions!!Comment

Hey, Hitstreak,
Give it some time. It may grow on you alot more as time goes by. I played alot this weekend after spending the past few weeks with the Show and some of the 2K's. It really looks terrible, but that gameplay is smooth. Certainly not the prettiest girl on the dance floor, but she sure cuts a mean rug!
Keep playing and you'll see the beauty underneath. If you have any questions or anything, let us know. There's a ton of us HH vets around here who are always happy to talk about this game.

Re: High Heat 2004 Anything & Everything Thread
Hitstreak,
There are alot of good tune files for the PC. Unfortunately, I have none for PC. All my HH is done on the PS2. If you are interested in my settings, let me know and I'll post em. Don't be afraid to play around with them - you may stumble upon a good mix that does exactly what you want it to. I felt it was a good sim right out of the box. If you have PS2, there is a simulation slider that you can adjust. Most of my slider adjustments are pretty minimal. Didn't do anything too drastic. And for me, i'm pretty happy with the way it plays. It seems like the results are pretty "sim".

Re: High Heat 2004 Anything & Everything Thread
I'm not sure if someone does rosters specifically for PS2. I think Pudge does rosters for PC, but there is a way to convert to PS2. I've never tried it. If you go through this thread, you'll find alot of discussion about rosters and how to convert files, what you need, etc. Roster work on PS2 without using a PC is really tedious. I started from scatch last year and spent alot of time on them and still wasn't 100% accurate. And this game is 6 years old, so there are lots of new players that need to be created. I edited the names of tons of minor leaguers and put them into the big club's lineup.
I was going to post my sliders, but I think bsb did good by posting Pared's. They are very close to what I use. The only real differences I have is that my pitch speed is 7, but after spending alot of time with The Show this Spring, I may bump it to 8 or 9. I didn't see Human and CPU power. I went with 6 for both last year and had a total of 58 home runs between me and the CPU in 55 games. I may up it this year, but I like having my own "Dead Ball" era and not being dependent on the long ball. But even cranking power to 10 does not result in a windy day at Wrigley. I also use different sliders for Home and Road. If I'm on the road in a hitters park, I up the hitting and power slider for the CPU. Places like Dodger Stadium and Petco, they come down so that it is more of a pitcher's game. Home sliders are skewed in my favor - slightly. I feel home teams should have a slight edge, but just a bit.
Feel free to ask anything here. bsb is really super and knows his baseball and his baseball games. And I will talk forever about High Heat anytime. I'm doing two seasons this year - my High Heat(gotta pay those Phillies back for last year) and I'm also doing a short season on The Show 09. The Show is awesome and makes you think about the game alot like HH. But I just can't bring myself to put HH away yet.

Sarge, you are a diehard. I'll be getting MLB 2k9 this week, so it may finally be time I retire my High Heat 2004.Comment

Re: High Heat 2004 Anything & Everything Thread
Boomer,
Noooo!!!! Don't put it out to pasture, yet!!! Sign it for another year!!!
Just kidding, dude! Nice to know if you need a change of pace from 2K, it is there.
Thank you for the kind words. I really planned on retiring it myself. Since early February have been playing alot of 2K7 and 8 and even 2K6. I really wanted to go with 2K because I like the 2 minute manage mode and that would allow me to get in a longer season. Plus the in game saves would let me get a few innings in while dinner was cooking and then I could finish it when the kids were watching TV. But the AI was terrible. I cranked the sliders to 0 for me and 100 for CPU and was still winning. You are a 2K veteran - any ideas? Played alot of 2K4, too and liked it best of the 2K series.
Then I got The Show and planned out a season with that. And I was all set to go and then last week, I figured I'd pop in HH and BAM! It hooked me all over again. So now I'm feeling guilty that we're in a recession and I dropped 30 bucks on a game I'm not going to play. So, my solution is to fire up another 54 games of HH and get a 29 game season of The Show. I'll tell ya, this was one tough year to decide on a game. Medication awaits!

Actually, this will be the first 2k game I've played. I haven't bought a new baseball game since MVP 2005.Comment
