I actually liked MVP 04 better. I had trouble with the hitting in 2005 (too many weak lineouts). I might still be playing 04 if it didn't have that "lefty glitch" where left handed hitters couldn't hit home runs.

You'll be back to HH after a few days of 2k9, lol.

Thanks for the nice words...I'm pretty sure you know just as much (probably more) about baseball and this game.

I still haven't made up my mind about what game I'm going to play this year. I dont think I can juggle two seasons with two different games because I like to play a 162 game season. Right now I feel like I could flip a coin to decide lol.

After reading this thread, I am assuming someone does rosters for ps2 version correct?

Thanks bsb and sarge for taking the time and helping me.
If you like those sliders all the thanks goes to Pared, he's the one who made them. As far as rosters and stuff go...I have no clue lol. Believe it or not I still play with the default rosters because I'm far too lazy to update them myself and far too CPU illiterate to download some off the internet lol.

Yeah, that lefty glitch was one of the most disheartening bugs I've ever come across in a baseball game because it put an extremely dark cloud over an otherwise great game.

I gotta tip my hat to you fellas that play the whole 162. I don't know where you find the time. I used to be able to get whole seasons in, but as life has rolled on, it has become hard enough to find time to do half a season. Just another thing I like about HH -you can set an exact number of games. Didn't Hardball let you do that, too?

Do any of you guys have any kind of updated roster file that you could post for original Xbox? Thanks to all.

                  Ok, Opening Weekend at Sarge's!!
High Heat - at Florida. Picked up right where I left off last year. Actually, it was eerily similar to last opening day. Santana got rocked. 4 IP, 4 runs, 9 hits. My offense was nowhere to be found. Marlins 5, Mets 1. Decent game, but i just can't seem to get anything going at the plate. It seemed to take a while to get in a good pitching groove. My pen was pretty good. Good variety of hits. I got my only run on a Castillo triple and Reyes Sac Fly. I used the same settings I described earlier. Pitcher's park, so I had power down to 6. No homers in the game. Pitch speed was at 7, I may put it to 8 or 9.
Also opened my short season on The Show. This really is a fabulous game. I lost to Seattle 4-1. I am just terrible at the plate. Johan pitched well - Sean Green gave up a two run homer in the 8th. But this game felt really good, too. This is going to be fun - playing mainly with HH, but getting a really good look at The Show, too.

Is the GBA version of this game any good? Trying to find a baseball game worth playing on my DS, and this may be my only option.

From Pudge regarding his 2009 rosters:

"Hello All and sorry for the delay on the update to the 2009 Season Rosters. I am in the final stages of getting the Arcade and 1 Pitch Mode High Heat 2004 roster sets ready for release and still hope to have these posted at my site by 4/7/2009 at the latest, which would be the last of the "Opening Days" for each team in MLB. As always, I will update this thread with my progress and start a new thread on this board for feedback and comments after the release. Thank you all for your patience. "

Check out Baseball Advanced for the GBA. Definitely worth playing.
